(12) TESTERS WANTED: Bridgestone 2020 Prototype Ball

The ball you play makes a difference. Bridgestone believes that’s especially true with its forthcoming next generation of Tour B-Series golf balls. In switching to a Bridgestone Tour B X Prototype, Bryson DeChambeau found an extra 750 RPMs of spin around the green, and Matt Kuchar uncovered an additional 1.5 MPH ball speed off his driver. Now it’s your turn.

You’re likely familiar with the “White Box” concept where ball companies send out samples in purposely non-descript packaging to avoid any preconceived notions of what the ball is or should be. Previously, access to such balls was reserved for select brand loyalists, media members, and other VIP types. Now ball companies are looking to involve consumers more directly in the process.

Testers Wanted

We can’t provide complete details on the new balls, but we can tell you that Bridgestone is making some pretty bold claims around its 2020 ball lineup, and we’re looking for TWELVE of you to put the 2020 Prototype ball to work and report back to the MyGolfSpy Community.

If you’re an avid, motivated, and detail-oriented golfer, we want you to test, review, and keep this ball before it’s available at retail.

This testing is open to golfers who reside in the US and have access to test outdoors during January.

How to Apply

As you know, MyGolfSpy takes its product testing very seriously. All of our reader reviews are published in our Community Forum (click here to read some). We expect a lot from our reviewers – writing a thorough, detailed, and honest review is a full two-month commitment, requiring extensive on-course work as well as participation in the Forum itself to answer questions and discuss product performance with other golfers.

That means to be a potential reviewer, you must be a registered member of the MyGolfSpy Community Forum, where you’ll find thousands of like-minded golfers from all over the world anxious to talk about golf equipment.

To apply to test and review your 2020 Bridgestone Prototype balls, here’s what you have to do:

– First, if you haven’t already, please sign up for the MyGolfSpy Community Forum (click here to register).
– Second, apply ONLY in the 2020 Bridgestone White Box Ball Testers Wanted thread in the Community Forum (click here)

Good luck, we’ll be announcing the test participants next week, so check back in the forum community to see if you are chosen.

It’s common practice for reps to give out golf balls to test long before it comes out. I work at a golf shop. Have hit mavrik have hit speed in motion. Not sure why this perplexes you.

Have used Pro V1X and TP5 for the past couple of years and was challenged to try Bridgestone balls not used anything else since. BX seems to work best for me

Always looking for a new ball to play. I want to see how it performs in the 4 areas Off the Tee, The Long Irons, from 150 yards and in, and around the green. I have used Bridgestone balls before. And this ball sounds like it will be an improvement due to the new technology. I am anxious to take them for a test drive. After all, the ball is involved in every shot taken.

I am a lifetime golfer (55 yrs) who is now 65 yrs old, and play to a 9 handicap. I date back to wooden woods , BullsEye putters & balata golf balls. I currently play with a set of One Length Hybrids, Cobra F8 woods, a Happy Putter & Bridgestone E6 golf balls. I am also an everyday player (200+ / year), who pays a lot of attention to detail.

      Hi Chris

You need to let these companies know you have testers around the world…like Australia where it is now summer, and we can play all day everyday till late in the evening, so for a more rounded test perhaps these companies need to be a=made aware of your extensive global membership of avid golfers will to try new products for them

      IMHO…Cheers

Chris – Thanks for the feedback. Any geographic restrictions are up to the manufacturer and I’m sure there’s some measured reasoning behind it, but I’ll be happy to pass along your thoughts. Thanks for your support of MGS!

Currently play TP5x and Snell MTBX. Really enjoyed the ball test info and have limited myself to the above 2 balls. I am an equipment junkie and would love testing a new ball. I reside in Arizona so plenty of golf in January.

Thank you for considering me to test the new “Bridgestone Prototype Ball.” I have tested other prototype balls in testing I consider appearance, and type of writing on the ball. The other items I consider are distance with woods and irons.. Also flight height difference from you normal flight and spin and softness. How the ball feels in chipping and bunkers shots.. Also tendencies in my swing are a draw so it will be interesting to what happens.
      Thanks

Rep gave me a sleeve in September, really good ball. Great greenside spin. Played the Tour B and found it spun quite a bit more around the greens than the Pro V I normally play.

Some reps get balls well in advance and have people in the golf industry try out and give feedback. Think exp by Titleist. Trust me mygolfspy isn’t the only people who get things early lol
