Guys, I just hit the new 913 D3 with the 62 gram Diamana blue shaft and it is hotter than the 910 with a similar set up. They’ve change the shaft to what I am told was a “made for Titleist” shaft to a “true” Diamana shaft. This seems to equate, for me, to about a 15 yard increase (105) swing speed with exceptional consistency. That was my only complaint with the 910; Although very accurate and forgiving, there where (are) longer drivers on the market. Now I’m longer (when my order comes in) and my accuracy will still be good. Also, it’s very workable, too!

I go to Harmon golf club… There are 5 different pros, all recognized as great teachers.. They all just got the 913’s in and all love them.. they say it’s longer (5 yds) and much more forgiving.. they had nothing bad to say about them.

Wow, marketing is amazing with driver heads. Couple of my friends sold and ready to sell their 6-month-old 910 just for this “newer” model, others sold their Superfast for Rocketballz, Callaway FT-IZ for Rarz/Hawk or whatsoever. I could still hit my $90 909 D2 (Globalgolf) 270-290 consistently and out drive most of them, but they don’t invest in the real shafts. They just throw money to new driver without knowing or investing the real shaft ($150-$300), that is where the technology is (launch, spin, torque, etc.). After about a year, the price dropped for 909, 910, and sure will come to 913. I rather invest money on the reduced price 910, then tinker with real shafts such as Matrix, Miyazaki, Fujikura, Mitsubishi (not Made For, By, or stock shaft) with the removable adapter. Just my 6-cents :)

very true! To my understanding the stock shafts on the 913’s are brand names but how do
you know there not fakes.How can you sell a driver for $400 and not consider the shafts.
Diamana and Aldila shafts are about $300 a piece.My opinion is you can’t trust these
manufacturing companies that put these clubs together so, yea I would also invest into
a good shaft myself.Just my 2-cents

Looks similar to my 910 D3. Doubt that much can be gained from this cycle other than new shaft offerings. Titleist normally the longest cycle of all manufacturers due they only come out with a new model when an improvement in substance, not cosmetics, is produced.

From reading the statements of Titleist VPs, it seems they redesigned the face so that it is more flexible on the perimeter (“a new process”), so it will be more forgiving and “hotter” across the face.
If you hit the ball on the screws, this club may not be for you. If you’re consistently inconsistent, then you may want this one.
I haven’t bought a Titleist driver since the 983, but if they feel similar to the 910 fairways, which I own, then I see the 913 and hybrids coming…

I agree that as a driver, I at best get 10m more out of the 910d2 than the 905r.
However i use the adjustability to vary loft between seasons and it’s so easy to try another shaft as well.
Having said this while I don’t see a lot of change to what this new model will offer, I will be at the titleist tent to compare when I get the chance!

I got the 905s and “average” 315 with it so i’m good on a new driver. Titleist has climaxed on driver capabilities so all your going to get is new paint jobs. They have to conform to USGA regulations so wanting something that is going to make it go farther and straighter then it already does is ridiculous. if you want straighter and farther hit the range and the gym.

I don’t understand much of the negative comments about Titleist and product cycles when this will not be out until November. It looks great to me and I’ll be very interested in the reviews when it comes out. That being said, I have 910D2 that kicked a Ping G15 out of my bag quite a while ago. It is clearly the best driver I have ever owned. The 913 would have to be a significant improvement over my current driver to get me to trade up for it.

i still prefer the looks of the 910 to this….I have the 910 and love it. I know alot of people say it is the same as the older Titleist with the surefit but the surefit is what sold me on this club….after I got it set the way I like it I am more accurate than I ever through possible off the tee!
I am sure part of that is the fact that I finally was properly fit for a shaft and wound up with the Project X….now I want to get some PX shafts in my 704CB irons as well. But those are 10 years old and my need to be changed out….

Well a positive is the non black face. I’ve got the 910 and the black face is so marked up it looks awful. Wish other manufactureres would go back to the non black face. Still, would not buy it for the price. What did that person say…”you can put lipstick on a pig but, you still got a pig” sure seems appropriate. Why don’t they just make a good driver and stick to their product. Oh! I forgot there is the GREED factor that comes into play. Too bad, all manufacturers have it. I’ll just stick to buying my new equipment when that model is being replaced. Several year old product is not going to hurt my game.

Guys I am seeing a lot of push back wanting everyone to wait and try this club. But when it comes down to seeing the R11s, we all made fun of it very quickly and no body had issues. Also there has been many post that manufactures can’t put anymore tech into clubs so how much is there for than to do besides paint jobs?

if your not a tinker toy addict buy the mighty 905r with a shaft upgrade, that driver still perform’s just as good or better than anything that has come out in the past decade, save yourself some beer money.

Maybe the 913 sure-fit hosel will finally allow adjustability without turning the shaft? That would help those of us that spin and orient our shafts…

Something about Titleist clubs that makes me think….’eh, whatever.’
They just don’t seem exciting, innovative, interesting or unique. I know they are probably good clubs but they are brand that holds no interest to me. Nothing abut them stands out and in this market with so many good choices you need something more than just your name. I guess like Bridgestone, they are more associated with balls than clubs.

Ok so look titleist stays on a two year life cycle dont know where your getting anything other than that. If you owned a 910 you wouldnt want them to mess that up. its a great driver and if you ask me its better than the r11 or r11s. Taylormade is a club slut company. they flood the market with the same crap re packaged. you had the new burner in black and silver then the 2.0 was black on black. then the white on black. same club diffrent colors. the RBZ is a as much cosmeticaly diffrent as the 913 is to the 910. yet people triped over there selves to get it. the last driver TM made worth getting was the R7 since then they are just club sluts. great at marketing but there are more use less bells and wistles than a train with GPS navigation. honistly the titleist adjustability feature is probably truely the best on the market. White Paint is tacky. some like it ok what ever take your driver to a body shop have them strip the finish off and repaint it.there is no diffrence its cosmetic.
Driver performance. if you really think you can get a driver that will add 5 or more yards your smoking crack. the head of a driver is so tightly governed you can’t make a face have more spring every aspect of a driver head is so tightly governed. the only improvement is on miss hits and that is maxed out. its all about marketing. yea so DJ his the new RBZ 3 wood 300+ in a video they made. Rory Mcilroy hit an old titleist 906 3wood just as far in the WGC match play. look it up. people want new clubs. if anything titleist saves you money. they dont release new clubs every year they do it every two. so who really makes better stuff 2007 Titleist 909 line TM r7 super quad and burner 1, 2008 r7 the triangle head and burner in early 09. then the r7 limited. late 09 titleist 910- TM R9. new style burner, by fall they did another burner and a r9 super deep, 2010 R11, burner in white and 2.0, 2012 r11s and the RBZ. late 2012 will bring the titleist 913. so over 5 years you buy 3 titleist drivers. compaired to 5 TMs. if you gained 5 yards a club you would have gone from 270 to 295 by now. according to TM. sorry i doubt it. dont hate the 913 i hope it performes atleast as well as the 910 im going to get it for the cosmetic change i dont need more performance im happy with what they have produced.

Hey Simba why don’t you go to a golf shop and test the RBZ 3 wood vs the 910 3 wood? I have hit a titleist driver all through college and still have it in my bag. I went to golf mart to upgrade my 3 wood and i hit the rbz about 12-15 yards longer then then the titleist 910h and f. I hate to say it but the RBZ blows the competition away in the 3 wood category.

Are you guys on crack?? This driver is still in the testing phase… that means that you won’t see a real retail launch until probably the middle/end of September. So that would mean that this driver has been on the market for at least 18 months…. Titleist always has at least an 18 month life cycle for all their clubs.

Tron, I totally agree with your sentiment that Titleist is NOT going the way of TM on club releases. But, they are certainly out of the testing phase at this point. Tour pros are getting heads, and there are probably thousands more on a boat to California.

Im thinking of the Fila Korea buyout of Titleist/Footjoy, does anyone else see a great deal of influence from the buyout? The face graphic and the white and red colors on the sole, seem very TM esque in their face lift to the 910, is this the first sign of the new ownership?

Even the more deliberate Titleists and PINGs of the world need cash flow…driver sales drop so drastically in their 2nd year, it seems like new releases are required just to keep the doors open…kinda’ sad.

Phana, I wouldn’t agree that Titleist is shortening their release cycles. They’ve been fairly steady at 2 years for a while now (it is the Titleist way, and Titleist seldom deviates).
If did some quick digging around and it turns out that the 910 Series made it’s debut on tour June 21, 2010. That’s almost 2 years to the date to when the 912 made it’s Tour debut.
If it were anybody else in the industry I’d tell you we’re looking at a late summer/early fall retail release, but this is Titleist, and as I said, Titleist seldom deviates. My guess is the 912 will mirror the release of the 910 almost to the date. History suggests retail availability will be mid-November.
As for performance, benefits, of the new model, etc., Titleist is tight-lipped at the moment, but as KFlare pointed out, there’s a whole lot of negative being said about a driver for which nobody really knows anything about (other than the aesthetics). Anything other than let’s wait and see, seems a bit silly to me.
Finally…KFlare, Everybody needs cashflow, but Titleist doesn’t need to rush clubs to market. Looking at the big picture, Titleist/Acushnet still absolutely dominates the non-durable goods market. Their balls are still number one…and even with a couple of brands trying to steal marketshare, Titleist is leaps and bounds (and a couple more hops too) ahead of everyone else in that space. FootJoy still dominates footwear and gloves.
The point is, Titleist, unlike just about everyone else in the industry, doesn’t rely on clubs to drive their profits. Margins are better on non-durable goods, and Titleist owns that market. That’s not to say they don’t want to be seen as a leader on the club side, but you could make an interesting argument that equipment is, at best, their secondary revenue stream (which is why they can still succeed with biennial updates to their woods and hybrids).

sorry for correcting but its the 913 driver, and to the gentlemen posting about similarities about this driver really pay attetion to the design you may be surprised at what you see because its a deeper face but a shallow rear giving it more speed and tighter for more ball speed off the face so look and read before you start talking big about something you dont even know about.

It’s a 910 with red and white racing stripes…….. Titleist haven’t done much the past 2yrs if this is what they came up with.
The adjustability looks the same, why would you buy this over a 910 that you would be able to get cheaper?

Lots of hating on a driver no one here has hit. Anyone consider that it could have better feel/sound/performance instead of a new paint job?
I’m not saying that golf companies always improve performance with new releases (looking at you, irons X-14 through X-24), but you guys are practically begging for the “next” white driver…Give the 913 a chance to provide some benefits that aren’t readily visible looking at a photo of the sole plate.

Most of us aren’t good enough to really reap the benefits between the ‘old’ and the ‘new’ drivers. So yes it might be better but it won’t be worth shelling out another £250-£300 (in my money) or more if you want custom fitted shafts.

I’m not sure what is driving this upgrade? Their Sure-Fit hosel seems to be still well advanced above what TM and Callaway have done. Please don’t tell me there’s a speed pocket in there now! Nice looking head cover but then again the last one was one of the smartest on the market.

I have to say I didn’t see this one coming before any TM or Callaway announcement. Titleist drivers life cycles seem to have always been long enough and always bringing a real improvement. Hope this doesn’t change…

The 913 is amazingly forgiving and feels great but it’s SOOOOO SHORT. My 910D2 is easily 25 yards longer and almost as forgiving.
I love Titleist (it’s all I have in my bag) but they took a step back on this one. The 910 is just that good.
