(4) Testers Wanted: Ben Hogan Equalizer Wedges

The Ben Hogan Golf Equipment Company is most definitely making the most of the first four months of 2018. So far this year we’ve seen Hogan sign two PGA Tour players to endorsement contracts, launch two new sets of irons and a new line of wedges.

It sure looks as though the company’s next shot has been as pure as a wedge shot struck by the Hawk himself.

And speaking of wedges…

TESTERS WANTED:

It was just over a month ago that Hogan announced the new Equalizer wedges. Forged from 1025 carbon steel, the Equalizers feature enhanced V-Sole technology for better turf interaction, a progressively center of mass as the lofts get higher for optimal launch, and aggressive face milling for controllable spin.

The Equalizers have created quite a buzz on social media and in the MyGolfSpy Community Forum since their release. Do they deserve all that buzz? And are they worthy successors to Hogan’s original Equalizers? We want you to help us find out.

We’re looking for four avid golfers from to test, review, and keep a 3-wedge set of the new Hogan Equalizers.

I would like to review the Ben Hogan wedges. Currently I use Adams 52 and 56 degree and Cleveland 60 degree wedges. Handicap is 12, I am 60 years old and play 2 to 3 times a week. Strength is driving and putting. Weakness is chipping.

I’ve been a Mizuno guy for years then bought the new Hogan irons 3 years ago. I have most of the Hogan wedges but still play Titleist/Callaway 60deg due to thier rep of spin control. I would love to review theses wedges. I’m a 2 handicap and play many golf course in the Ohio area. I also can’t wait to hit the Ben Hogan black irons “CAN’T WAIT”.

Beautiful once again. I remember my brother having the Apex irons, and I thought they were just incredible. Everything I’m seeing from Hogan now is just the best looking clubs out there. I am wanting new wedges, and these look awesome and they have all the lofts I would want. I play 50°, 54° and 58°. I have seen some wedges I like, but can’t get in the correct lofts. I like them carrying every two degrees.

I recently completed a series of short game lessons, and subsequently purchase a new set of wedges (after testing of course) based upon the new swing and the need for different bounce angles for the new technique. It would be great to apply this recent knowledge and methodology to test the new Hogan wedges.

I have to say, it’s awesome how many testing opportunities we get through MGS. Not gonna throw my name in for this one, as I don’t feel I’d give them the thorough usage necessary. I carry a 56 only as it does what I need it to do for where I play. Good luck to all who apply.

I am a fan of pure, so kid and traditionally forged wedges. I owned Hogan ions in yesteryear due to my fascination with Hogan’s golf swing. His Irons apealed to me because of their simplistic purity. I think their latest irons are a contination of that theme. It would be my pleasure to evaluate them. I strongly suspect they are spectacular…The look (shape) is what appears to me.

I just got my new 50 degree Hogan Equalizer (KBS Tour XStiff) in the mail. I wanted to replace my current Cleveland RTX-3 gap wedge with something that looked a little more like my Hogan Ft Worth set at address. Would be happy to contribute as I will be testing performance against that Cleveland wedge anyways.
