(5) Testers Wanted: Tommy Armour Impact No. 3 Mallet Putter

When you’re a back-to-back champ, you’d think the questions would end, and you can enjoy the parade. But when you’re the revival of an iconic brand (not to mention the house brand at Dick’s), the parade is short, and the band plays Barry Manilow off-key.

Despite winning the 2018 and 2019 Most Wanted Mallet Putter, Tommy Armour Impact No. 3 is still trying to get a seat at the big boy table. It may not have the same street cred as an Odyssey, EVNROLL, Scotty or a PING, but gloryosky  Captain Albatross, it performed for us.

Will it perform for you? That’s something we’d like to find out.

Testers Wanted

Tommy Armour’s comeback is as surprising as its performance. The Dick’s house brand is bringing it at a price golfers should appreciate, but top-shelf performance at a discount price often does not compute.

That’s why we want your help. We’re looking for FIVE avid golfers to test, review and keep a Tommy Armour Impact No. 3 mallet and let the golfing world know if the No. 3 really deserves to be No. 1.

As per the OEMs guidelines, this review opportunity is open to any avid and detail-oriented golfer who plies his trade in the U.S. of A.

How To Apply

All of MyGolfSpy’s Community reviews require a serious commitment on the part of the reviewer. You will need to be motivated, detail oriented and savvy with online forums, so please make sure you read the following instructions carefully and apply in the proper place.

Please note this is not a giveaway or contest. We’re looking for five people committed to making a full evaluation and writing a detailed review for our Community Forum. Testers will be selected based on how well they demonstrate that commitment in the Forum Application Thread.

Actually tried & purchased the putter at the local big box sporting goods store. It was just OK, glad I was able to return for a full refund. Found that I preferred a slightly larger profile, such as the Odyssey Tank #7

I am a senior citizen using a spider putter. I like a powder that is more upright. My handicap is between 18 and 20.

I am in the market right now for a new putter, and would love to be one of the testers. I already have one Tommy Armour blade putter, and I am very happy with the brand. Please use me as a tester!

Never tried a mallet putter. My putter is 20 years old and needs to be replaced. But the market had so many selections.

I have this putter. I have two complaints. The first is the build quality could be better. The second is that it is too light. I need a little more weight.

Having owned a few Tommy armour products over the years, it’s good to see the brand making an impact again, I purchased a used Impact #3 Putter after seeing the results of the 2018 putter testing and couldn’t be happier, I’ve gone through quite a few putters over the years, but this one is definitely a keeper. I can’t wait to read the 5 testers thoughts on this putter.

The chosen 5 will love it. I bought one the second I saw it won back to back. Since then, I have added a counterbalanced Lamkin grip and removed all paintball. I love this putter. People are amazed when they ask to try it. Best decision I have made. I put aside my preconceived notions of equipment and went for it. This putter will remain in the bag until someone steals it.

I too have been impressed with this “off brand” putter. I picked one up on Ebay for $55 a couple of months ago and practiced a little with it but continued using my Ping Sigma G Tyne (also a great putter) until yesterday. I put the Impact in the bag and had 4 birdies – this from a 10 handicapper on my tough Tom Fazio home course. I sunk birdie putts between 8 and 20 feet, and also made several putts for par inside 5 feet. To be fair, I also 3 putted from 30 ft and missed a 4 footer for par. It’s not going to solve all putting woes, but it’s certainly a putter to be seriously considered and not blown off due to it’s name and low price.
