Callaway bills the Chrome Soft Truvis Stars and Stripes edition as new. It’s a combination that features a fresh take on Truvis Stars and Stripes pattern, while the ball itself features a new (larger) core.
The Chrome Soft line debuted in 2015 and what Callaway dubbed “The ball that changed the ball” is largely responsible for Callaway’s current #2 position in the ball market. Though there have been several nips and tucks along the way, primarily focused on core construction, the overall strategy of providing golfers a soft-fast, tour-level ball has remained the same.

The first edition had a “SoftFast Core” which was replaced in 2016 with the “Dual Soft Fast Core.” Then in 2018, Callaway debuted the Graphene Infused Dual SoftFast Core, which it says allowed for thinner cover construction and a slightly larger, faster core.
The Truvis pattern – to which Callaway holds exclusive rights in North America – isn’t new, though it’s become a staple product in the Chrome Soft line. It started shortly after the Chrome Soft first launched primarily as an exploration of whether golfers who already had a preference for colored golf balls might be willing to try something different. They most certainly did, and now, in addition to the different colorways, Truvis opens the door for any number of potential custom options – though I remain partial to Wesley Bryan’s Taco Bell Truvis ball.
This time around, Callaway is giving Chrome Soft a patriotic flair with a red, white and blue Truvis design. We typically see plays to Old Glory closer to July 4th or fall team events (Ryder Cup, Presidents Cup) but I suppose the US Open isn’t too far off.

According to the Ball Guide article from yesterday says all ” soft” balls will make you loose distance by a lot, so this Callaway ball is no good then.
