Every 2016 Super Stroke To Include CounterCore Weight

With the anchoring ban once looming, and now in effect, the use of counter weighting in putters is one the rise.

It sure beats cheating, I guess.

In 2015 golfers were offered a variety of alternative remedies, including the CounterCore grip from Super Stroke. Sufficed to say the company is committed to using back-weighting to help smooth out your stroke. To that end, every grip in the 2016 Super Stroke Slim, Fatso, Flatso, and Pistol GT lineup will be available with CounterCore weighting as an option.

Super Stroke grips are already immensely popular both on Tour and with average joes. According to Super Stroke, during any given week upwards of 40 professionals use Super Stroke grips, and an increasing number of those guys are adding counter weight to those grips.

Does that mean you should switch to a counter weighted grip?

Maybe.

Sorry, that’s all I got. The guys at Super Stroke estimate that more than 50% of amateur players would add consistency to their putting stroke through the use of CounterCore technology, but that also means some number less than 50% probably wouldn’t.

You’re going to have to figure this one out for yourself. So how do you do that?

“Our research shows that the two most effective ways to enhance consistency in a stroke are with size/shape (grip) and weight.  We would like players to start with the weight in, so they have a chance to experience what it can do for them.  If they prefer not to use it, they can use the grip without the weight, and still benefit from our no taper designs, in various sizes/shapes.” – Greg Sabella, VP or Marketing, Super Stroke

2016 Pricing & Additional Models

Retail price is $34.99 for all 2016 CounterCore products.

Non-CounterCore items will be $24.99 with the exception of the + Series grips (13.75”) which are $29.99 plus another $10 for the weighted option.

Also new for 2016 are the Pistol GT grips, available in three sizes – Tour (the smallest ever offered through Super STroke) 1.0 and 2.0.

Sabella said, “This is a new shape for us and will be a nice option for those preferring a pistol style grip.”

ATTN: Extra long screw, washers, big nut, and glue(optional)? Yes, this is local hardware store counter-balanced heaven! Just choose your gram weight and keep the setup flush to the cut down mid putter shaft I/O diameter and add any Winn mid-pistol or SuperStroke grip for that “Eff You Feel” while supporting your Local Hardware Craftsmen.
P.S. strokes gained are purely yours to denote based on silky smooth strokes that roll the ball as well as wax rolls water!!!

Another marketing gimmick which serves no purpose !
I’m an excellent putter(24/28 puts per round ),I have a “run pf the mill” blade putter ,I don’t need a SCOTTY CAMERON or a counterweight handle to have a smooth stroke and hole both long and short puts consistently .
All this is “BLA-BLA BLA”to entice you to spend your money .
Work on your putting stroke first (And look up putting guru GEOFF MANGUM’s site and outstanding book!)

You are delusional tour players don’t average 24-28 putts per round.

24-28 putts is totally possible if you are missing 10 greens around and chip it really well. I can remember in high school hitting about 3-6 greens a round and one putting 5-7 greens in a row many times.

In my opinion, Superstroke does make quality putter grips. But back weighting really should be customized. It’s not a one size fits all.

Does anyone else think that Superstroke pricing is a bit high? Hopefully the new GP grips will be less expensive and include the counterweighting options because I’m hard pressed to pay that much for a grip on top of already paying the tremendous prices they want for the putter to begin with.

I see the idea of getting the counter weight into more people’s hands, since they have to buy it anyway, then they can give it a try to see if they like it. Making the cost of the grip $35 across the board makes it easy, but to me, if you;re going to force it, discount it a bit, make it $30.

Agreed, I already have the 3.0 XL and the weight, and want to change to a 2.0 flatso, but I already have the weight that it comes with!

The downside is if you don’t want the counter balance, you are forced to pay for it. But the new pistol grip I’d amazing and will be very popular.

The upside of reading the article is that it states they offer the grips without the core for a lower price.

Brandon Nutss and the upside of working in a golf shop and going over these with a factory rep is that most of them are available with the counterbalance only.
