Evnroll 2020 Putters – Subtle Updates, New Finishes

With Evnroll 2020 putters on the way, expect to see more sweet faces in golf shops this season.

With a little luck, the sweetest faces will belong to the employees and players safely returning to the course and to the game that we all love. It’s my sincere wish that you all stay healthy during these trying times.

Having said that, I’d wager some of you immediately picked up the sweet face reference above as the catchphrase for Evnroll putters. The putters with The Sweetest Face in Golf. Please don’t test the claim by licking one of these putters in the shop. Evnroll is more of a texture than a taste story.

While there’s nothing completely new, the subtle updates may bring you exactly what you’re looking for. Let’s take a look at the tweaks Guerin Rife has made to his Evnroll 2020 putters.

Evnroll 2020 ER1.2B

The ER1.2B is an all-black version of the classic ER1.2 Tour Blade. A traditional plumber-neck flange blade, the ER1.2B is CNC milled in 303 stainless steel, showcasing a striking murdered-out Black Armor finish. It also features a slightly thicker toe section, thinner heel section and hollowed-out hosel to position the center of gravity in the center of the face.

Evnroll 2020 ER2CS

The ER2CS returns to the Evnroll putter line-up in 2020. It’s a center-shafted, heel- and toe-weighted flange blade putter. Like the other center-shafted models, it features a top sight line instead of the two dots used on the heel-shafted models to highlight the center of mass. This top sight line, coupled with two wider sight lines that extend backwards on the blade, helps frame the hitting area for better alignment.

Evnroll 2020 ER5CS

The popular ER5 Hatchback also joins the new product line-up for 2020. The ER5CS is a center-shafted winged mallet with a hatched-out center section. Heel and toe weighted, it’s an extremely solid and stable putter. Unlike the standard ER5, the ER5CS features a top sight line to highlight the center of mass. This top sight line, coupled with two wider sight lines that extend backwards on the blade, help frame the hitting area for better alignment.

Evnroll 2020 ER7B

The ER7B full mallet is an all-black version of the popular ER7. A rear perimeter-weighted full mallet putter, the ER7B is CNC milled in 303 stainless steel, showcasing a scratch-resistant, murdered-out Black Armor finish. Benefiting from a symmetrical distribution of weight flowing back from heel and toe, the ER7B remains extremely stable through the stroke.

Sweet Face Grooves

So you’ve seen the new putters and perhaps picked a favorite. If the story of the grooves is new to you, it’s worth taking a few minutes to watch this conversation between MyGolfSpy owner Adam Beach and Guerin Rife, the owner and designer of Evnroll putters.

More Models, More Options

With these four models, the Evnroll 2020 offerings extend the full lineup to 18 putters. These range from traditional blades to boundary-pushing high-MOI mallets. Granted, some of Evnroll’s rising count can be attributed to color and neck variants but I still see plenty of choices for golfers in the Evnroll offerings.

Which model would you roll? For me, it’s probably the ER1.2B, though I’d really like to see a flow-neck version.

If you’re unsure, I have a bit of a helpful teaser. The MyGolfSpy Most Wanted Blade Putter test results are coming soon! Rocks were rolled and the results are being tallied as you read this.

Check back next week for the results.

I am wondering if someone has already listed all head designs which have been released included limited edition ones. Today, many shops and fitters still propose former head design which makes confusion in customer mind. On top of that some head design has dot(s) instead of head weight inscription. Any information is welcome!

Love the EVNFLOW putters, bought an ER7 several years back after it won the best mallet putter in a MyGolfSpy review. I haven’t looked back since! Getting a consistent distance, regardless of center or off-center putts was the deciding factor for me.

I love my ER2, but am definitely intrigued by a center shafted version. I’ll have to A/B them once the stores open back up.

And I’m sorry but adding another COLOR does not mean they have another model. Technically they have 14 models with 4 offering the black color scheme

The store is closed but both courses and driving range are open. Sacramento City and County courses are presently open but good luck getting a tee time.

“Black armour finish” is marketing nonsense. At this high end I’d expect diamond like carbon (DLC) but no specification is given so this is probably a ceramic finish that wears readily enough like previous models.

      Hope the data shows otherwise

Great article, and great idea about a flow-neck! Does Guerin Rife have any plans for a flow-neck? Something like a Newport 2.5 would be amazing!

Couldn’t agree more! The only reason I don’t already have an Evnroll is the lack of a flow neck blade putter with a toe hang suited for a strong arc. I have done SAM Put lab three times and the result is clear. I need blade putter with a bit higher loft and toe hang!

WOW, from a price point I’m not sure these are at the same level as a Scotty. now, I could be wrong, time will tell. I ‘ve always liked a center shaft putter like the ER5CS, currently using the Scotty Futura X5..

What, exactly, makes a Scotty worth a Scotty price point?

It’s in a lot of tour players bags. Scotty has well made putters, and milling a putter from a solid block of steel definitely raises the price point from a material and construction costs. Any milled putters our there are generally at a higher price point (Scotty, Bettinardi, Toulon, Piretti etc.)

The average tour player that rocks a Scotty generally don’t have a retail model in their hands. I think consumers often confuse retail models with tour models.

They’re nice putters, they look and feel premium, but I don’t think there’s any performance benefits to them (versus tech based designs). Like all milled putters their value is pretty subjective

Well, if you believe in data Evnroll has consistently outperformed Scotty putters in MGS testing…so I guess you’re right. Scotty should not be at the same price point as Evnroll putters.
