Father’s Day Gift Guide from eBay Refurbished

If there are three things your dad loves, they might just be golf, gadgets, and saving money. Granted most MGS readers likely have those same loves, but with Father’s Day coming up let’s take a look at a few gifts that hit all three.

Most know eBay as the largest online auction site in the world. Many reading will have bought and sold gear there in the past. Another side of eBay, however, is their certified refurbished shop. We don’t recommend refurbished golf clubs or golf balls but consumers can find great deals on a wide variety of other items. Most are being resold directly from the manufacturer after refurbishing and testing the product. This results in a like-new item that is often still under warranty and in original packaging, but at significant cost savings.

With Father’s Day quickly approaching, many of these items would make great gifts. eBay is sweetening the deal even further by offering up to 50% off a variety of top items from June 7th – June 13th 2021. Looking through the available products, a few stood out as perfect gifts for the golfing dad in your life.

Here are a few of the top golf gadgets currently available on eBay refurbished today.

The best rangefinder of 2021 is packed with features. The display is simple to read and understand. Visual notification and jolt technology alert you when you’ve locked onto a target. This rangefinder also considers climate. It accounts for altitude as well as temperature for ultimate accuracy in playing distance.

A lone factor that may have prevented consumers from grabbing the Pro XE in the past is simply the price. At nearly $550 retail new, the rangefinder is one of the more expensive units on the market. Any chance to get one at a discount should definitely be jumped on.

This unit comes directly from Bushnell Golf and has a 1 year warranty, so it can be purchased with confidence even with the refurbished label. Whether dad still steps off his distances or is simply in need of an upgrade, the Pro XE would be a welcomed gift.

New/Used Golf Clubs on eBay

While we never recommend purchasing refurbished golf clubs or balls, another gift idea for dad might be a new or used club, and eBay can certainly seem like a place to pick up something at a good price. That said, eBay club purchasing certainly comes with a risk. While most transactions go smoothly, there is always the chance of counterfeit goods, inaccurate descriptions, or delayed shipping leaving you without your gift for Father’s Day.

One way to mitigate these risks is to shop through respected eBay golf stores. Often, these eBay stores are extensions of existing online shops and offer a level of service and peace of mind beyond private sales. Here are a few sellers and examples of the types of clubs you might pick up.

Callaway Golf Pre-owned

For Callaway fans, the brand operates an eBay shop to help clear out pre-owned inventory. With around 3000 items listed, you’ll be able to find something to fit almost any golfer. Callaway is also clear on the condition of the club being sold as well as offering warranties on some models.

A prime example is this Mavrik Sub Zero driver. This was the longest club in The Best Golf Drivers for 2020 testing and is being offered for around half the price of the latest current year models. While the original headcover is missing, the cost savings certainly frees up funds for a nice aftermarket one.

Global Golf

With a 99.3% positive feedback rating on over 500,000 customer reviews, Global Golf is one of the most trusted names in online club sales. Amongst their 9000+ listings, over 3000 currently are TaylorMade clubs. This makes sense as Global Golf is one of the few TaylorMade authorized eBay sellers.

Being a prime shop for TaylorMade makes this the ideal place to find the M1 460 driver that dad has been watching for ever since it’s surprise performance in the Best of the Best Driver Challenge from late 2020. It’s a club that can still keep up with the latest models despite its age.

Lost Golf Balls

It’s pretty easy to guess Lost Golf Balls does from the name. They are one of the largest providers of used golf balls online. The inventory numbers and positive seller reviews to back their quality. Playing a high quality, urethane cover golf ball can provide benefits to golfers of all levels. Buying used is one way to do that without spending full retail price.

If dad tends to lose a few in the woods every round, then four dozen near-mint 2019 Pro V1’s in high-visibility yellow might just be the perfect present. While the balls might have a few cosmetic flaws or markings, there shouldn’t be anything that impacts performance. At almost half the price of new retail Pro V1’s, picking up a bucket to last the golfing dad in your life through the summer season is much more affordable.

I would not use EBay refurb for any golf products.

I bought a putter from Callaway Pre Owned as was disappointed with what I received compared to the description in the add. They stated it was in good shape with minor wear. Well it had considerable paint chips and I would have been embarrassed to make the claims they did. A little Sharpie work and it looks fine. The face was in really good shape but my putters in the past were treated with the utmost care, and they always looked brand new. Buyer Beware. Thanks

I can see how that would be disappointing, but why didn’t you send it back? I bought my iron set & 2 fairway woods from Callaway pre-owned. Everything was advertised as “like new” and the description was 100% correct, (they all looked new). So I would absolutely buy from that website again.

What’s the difference between “refinished” and “refurbished” golf balls? You guys have mentioned in the past not to play “refurbished” balls, does that go for “refinished” ones as well?
