First Look – Miura MC-501

Here’s your first look at the upcoming Miura MC-501 irons. The company is being tight-lipped with the details, instead waiting until the PGA Show next week to spill the goods. We’re being told that these will be the first of 3 new Miura releases in 2018, and while it’s too soon to say much of anything about performance, we definitely like what we see so far.

Good looking blades, The weight block in the middle and low down are going to give these clubs some serious clout and will help golfers get the ball in the air more easily. My only concern is these clubs are only going to be handled by the better handicap players who hit off the center of the clubface……… anywhere else on these clubs and you are going to be in trouble with your accuracy.

Obviously, the quality Miura is known for will always be there. That said, I’ve seen better-looking Miura clubs that these. Too chunky for my taste. Cosmetically, I prefer the smooth look of a MIzuno MD5 or 18.

It seems to me that Japanese irons want some beating for quality, Bridgestone, Mizuno, Miura, Srixon, Yonex, its when they come to making woods they underachieve.

As always them and Mizuno top of the line.

Do you frame these and hang them on the wall or play them? They are absolutely beautiful. Unaffordable, but beautiful. I always thought the Mizunos were the best looking club in golf, these go beyond that.

Beautiful I like irons with crisp lines and a tech. look. The deep groove through the back makes me wonder if they are going to control weight in the head like some wedges are doing now. The pads at the top look like they could be thicker or thinner depending where they want the COG. Somewhat like the Mizuno S18 wedges. We have a fitter in KC that has Miura products I’ll get to take a look at them.

These may be my new “All time best looking iron”. Having said that, now I just need to get my game to the level that I can play them and my income to the level I can afford them.

They put MG on them because that is actually the name of the brand thats why. Miura branded irons are for the overseas market. The MG MC501 have been out already here in Asia.

Hi Shadow: How much are they in Asia, for say 4 to PW set steel shafts ??? it might give us Brits a view of what their pricing policy is, It would take me some budging for me to play those MG’s against my Mizuno’s MP’s

@Mike check out Global Rakuten or club fitter one2one in Japan (also on Rakuten) who do a lot of trade with Miura Craftsman’s World. Both should give you a good idea of prices direct from Japan which would be cheaper than EU . You should be able to find MG model which can be made to your specifications.

Miura Giken 2018 line up – of which some have become the Miura 2018 lineup.

So they stole the Bridgestone Tour B design…and added the design from the sole of the TItleist 915 drivers….come on Miura. I am so disappointed.

These look very sanitary………….. but……….. I don’t really know how they can be better than the Mb 001 or the CB 57 heads.. I love these two sets.. and would be interested in the new ones’ if they could show me how they would be any easier and more forgiving to strike??? But these new ones “look” great..
