Nike’s 2016 Lineup Revealed

By now you should be fully aware that, contrary to rumors, Nike isn’t getting out of the golf equipment business. So with that in mind, here’s your latest look at the 2016 lineup courtesy of a few Instagram users.

In addition to our first look at the new irons, this latest round of pics confirms the existence of a new CG-adjustable Vapor Flex driver.

We expect to have full details of Nike Golf’s 2016 lineup sometime in mid-December.

The Irons look like a Titleist and the Woods have the Usual Golbbledy Goop on the underside, so what is new.

If the new was better and longer as they claim, we would by hitting a 7 iron 100 yrs longer than 10 yrs ago, why Not? Of course they are a bit longer thanks to a hot ball, rebound faces, and mainly stronger lofts where todays Wedge is yesterdays 8 iron. And that is why they spend Millions on Marketing to convince Golfers today stuff is better.

I’ve never been a Nike Player but I did purchase the Covert 2.0 Forged with steel Shafts (I mention that because I played Graphite irons for the past 12 years). I hit these Nike irons farther and more consistently than any Irons I’ve owned in my life. They are okay looking, none of my playing partners throw up looking at them, but several folks tried the 2105 Vapor with different shaft combo’s and everyone says they suck. It is like Nike stumbled on a great idea and has run from it ever since. My Irons don’t look cheap, the 2016 Nike’s do, but everyone has a different feel for things, whatever works for you great. I think Nike has lost their way badly for some reason, and I hate it.

I personally love this look Nike it reminds me of my favorite football team. Go Seahawks I never considered buying Nike but if they feel as good as they look they will be in my Seattle Seahawk golf bag. Might even put the hawk emblem on my driver. Nike if you need a tester I would be more than happy.

The reviews on FaceBook had it as THE longest. I traded the vapor 3 for the VR 3 wood as well for the same reason. I am sooo happy I did it. The VR is a monster and the G30 is pretty long

I basically stayed glued to you page. I ran to golf galaxy and tried Taylor Made Aeroburner because I had the SuperFast and loved it. The guy gave me the G30 LSTEC and I started hammering it past the Aeroburner. Read the reviews on the LS TEC and decided since I’m 43 I don’t have the swing speed I used to so I went w the G30

They should have stayed and improved on victory red line . Victory red was nike and well established name for em with the deep red look of the woods , it was classy , accepted and then they came out with a beutiful looking proto iron but sorta over did it with the BIG swoosh logo which they never should have enlarged but still a great looking model iron. Then everything turned fr the worse coloring it up to look so cheap and dumping the classy victory red coloring fr this neon yellow garbage , terrible decision nike made then now a sky blue driver OMG what the hell , they outa fire the people who did all of this nonsense, this is golf NOT art that is if u can call it that. WAT A SHAME.

I have been a Nike fan for the longest time but, I suspect, whoever project led & created this range of golf products were sent into the Nike Golf organization as part of a disruption strategy by a major competitor! …. LOL!!

I can only suggest, it might be, that Nike Golf are looking at the younger golfer segments to increase their share of the market; add color to the golf scene. Very risky as I don’t think they have given this enough thought & will likely piss off many current Nike golf fans. They must realize that Golf is very unlike the core business they are in, even if there are similarities.

I do remain a Nike fan especially in the core business.

Having played the Nike Covert 2.0 irons for the past 2 seasons, I was quite please with these irons. Also have been considering this years model of the Nike Vapor driver, which has very good reviews. Just waiting till the price drop before trying one of these vapor drivers out. As for the above irons and drivers, I never liked white drivers, but have seen some of those. Also have seen some ugly skins folks have placed on their driver heads. What is it with all the Nike hate?Everyone needs to watch ‘Kelly’ Hero’s’ where Donald Sutherland’s character complaints about ” negative vibes”!.

The irons to me look like they were designed by committee. They may play fine but the look on the back – confusing. I’ve wondered at times how Nike views themselves in the golf world. I think when they first entered the golf biz a lot of people (myself included) kind of looked at them as an interloper and opportunist and didn’t take them seriously. Nevertheless they have produced some products that have been well received (still see a CPR rescue in a bag from time to time and the original Pro Combo irons got great reviews). After 15 years or however long its been now I think they are generally accepted as a solid manufacturer but of course they are not dominant. And is that what they expected? They are really just one of a pack now and with the money they spend on media and big $$ endorsers I wonder if they look and just think they really aren’t getting that much back on their investment?

I am a nike staffer and after seeing this new product, I have to believe they are on their way out of the equipment business, the rep spent a short amount of time talking about it, no real features and benefits and the Vapor Flex driver looked so cheap and the plastic RZN crown looked like something you would see at K-mart. The black irons looked cheap as well. Not really sure what they are thinking but this will be a down year for them. I am not exchanging my products this year. Very sad.

Just way too female targeted with the glaring colors. Will they stand out in a sea of chrome? Yes but in a very very bad way. I don’t care if they perform they are hideous.

Interested to see what technology changes were made from the previous line. I have the Nike covert 2.0 tour, it performs very well for my game. I did not switch to the vapor line, as the difference for me was not noticeable. I did like the previous flex. This one looks like same theory as applied to TM M1 driver, less weight on top should allow the player to set CG lower, with flip weight moving it front to back.

Irons look tech-y as well. I prefer classic look, but we will see if they perform. In the end, that is all that matters – matching players with the equipment that allows them to perform their best.

I’m not as anti-Nike as many, but I see a lot of past releases in these.

The irons look like a cross between the Slingshots and the Adams XTDs.

The FWs look a lot like the old Callaways or Cobras from the top. I think it’s the color scheme. Something about it looks quite old.
