Average golfers love it when an approach shot hits the green and spins back 15 feet. But seriously, do you really need to suck it back with your wedges? When you consider that the overwhelming majority of amateur approach shots land short of the target distance, maybe you should be asking if adding more spin to your wedge shots will actually help you shoot lower scores?
In today’s Most Wanted Monday we look back at last season’s Most Wanted Wedge and discuss whether most golfers actually need more spin.

Spin is pretty much beyond my ability. I can see the logo spinning backwards but not enough to stop the ball. So I play with what I’ve got – bump and run. I work on distance control which includes carry and run out. I use different clubs when I need less or more run out. Even without spin I love the game and am still having fun playing.
