MyGolfSpy Announces Partnership with 18Birdies

MyGolfSpy is excited to announce it has entered into a partnership with mobile golf technology company 18Birdies.

Since launching at the PGA Merchandise Show in 2016, 18Birdies has become the fastest growing golf community with over 900,000 users and one of the top-rated golf apps in the industry having just been designated a Golf Digest Editor’s Choice for Best Game Analyzer App and being named a Webby Award finalist for Best GPS Technology.

18Birdies is a mobile application that offers GPS and scorecard functionality, stat and round tracking, and a comprehensive selection of side games. The 18Birdies network also features golf instruction, golf news, and podcasts.

18birdies-features

As a part of the partnership, MyGolfSpy will provide 18Birdies users with fresh content each week and explore options with 18Birdies for an exclusive DreamGames giveaway.

“18Birdies has a great community,” said MyGolfSpy Owner, Adam Beach. We want to work with brands that are doing it right, and the people involved in the 18Birdies brand, both inside the company and its ambassadors, like Wesley Bryan, Tony Finau, and Paige Spiranac, are good for the industry and the game.”

MyGolfspy already offers the most extensive and unbiased golf equipment reviews. This new partnership will allow us to bring our message of consumer education and empowerment to a new and engaged audience of golfers.

“In my 20 years in the golf industry, I have never seen a piece of golf software as well thought out and executed as 18Birdies,” said Beach. “Never.”

MyGolfSpy content is available now through the 18Birdies app.

Had Swing by Swing installed. But bring a MGS member, thought I should switch to 18 Birdies. I do like the blind shot compass. Comes in handy.

Sounds interesting, although I use The Grint and for me there is no better app out there. I’ll maybe give it a try this season

18 birdies is an awesome golf app, no joke. I dig it. It keeps track of all my rounds, and there’s a bunch of pretty cool content, and u have Chance’s to win prizes…… And u actually win stuff, I’ve won a golf towel, and some gift certificates. The coolest thing tho is the people on there. Everyone on the site loves and plays golf.

Well, I’m still using Grint. Don’t feel like importing all my scores. Guess I’ll sit this one out till the next partnership.

Is this available to use at golf courses in Japan?

Hi Toru, we do! If you find a course in Japan (or anywhere) that we don’t have, you can email [email protected] and we’ll add your course asap. This usually takes 24-48 hours.

As someone who isn’t a member of a club, the only reason I chose another app was due to the fact that it gave me a (supposedly) USGA compliant handicap. All of my friends use 18 birdies so I’ll probably make the switch soon

Last time I checked (1year back), Golf GameBook had a much better implementation of the same concept. I found it much easier to use. I will give it a look to see if things improved.

Have they added an app for the Apple Watch yet? Last I tried 18 birdies, it didn’t have this functionality which makes in not as useful as Golf Logix, which I currently use.

Agree with you Tony, I think you will find it is the higher elite using all this stuff, As with many we are tired of the 12 handicap with the 300 yard drive thinking he somehow is a pro and takes more time to play a hole then the foursome of old 20 handicaps just trying to get in 18 before we pass.

Still much faster than days of yore when we had to find a sprinkler head and then walk-off our yardage!

the good players all seem to be using yardage scopes as they are to the pins.

How well does the stat tracking portion work and how easy is it to use? I’ll use it if it doesn’t require me to take extra time to add information.

Hi Pete, it’s pretty simple. After you tap to enter your score, a few extra taps let you track putts, fairways hit, GIR, penalties etc right next to your score entry. It’s easy

I’ve got it downloaded and have used it maybe for 5 or 6 rounds at some away courses for the GPS and scoring. I haven’t use the SM aspect of it yet. But will take a look at it.

      DreamGetaways sounds interesting!!

Nothing against MGS mind you. Just my opinion of an app.
Initially I had some interest since they said they incorporate betting games. But my interest quickly vanished due to 18B charging $45/yr. and you have to pay that to gain that particular feature. All the other stuff (social, GPS, Stats, instruction, news) I have no interest in and besides; it’s free elsewhere if you’re into that stuff. I also already have one of the best if not the best golf gambling-betting apps anywhere. It costs $5 and is a one time fee for the app. Been using it for years.

We’d be happy to stack our betting features up against any competitor. If you find something better, let us know and we’ll consider it as feature upgrade.

Hi PJ, four of our 9 side games are free in the app. you can also sign up for the 30-day premium free trial. Lots of new member benefits in premium just added as well If you don’t get your money’s worth, you can cancel free of charge in that timeframe.

Will the app give me yardage without going premium? Like if I hit my drive, stand by it wherever it has landed, will it give me yardage to the pin?

Nice!! Gonna download the app and check it out .. looks like it has some pretty good features. Don’t use any apps on-course, but I do like to use a GPS app to review a new course beforehand. Can also see using that blind shot feature on a new course.

I have little to no interest in the social aspect of these apps. All I want is the best GPS, UI, and stat tracking. If 18Birdies is that app, then I’ll use it. As a fan of MGS, this partnership and endorsement means a lot.

I love 18Birdies but I have just invested in Arccos for tracking. I’ve learned from playing around with GolfShot/GameGolf/Arccos/18Birdies that you really need to pick one and commit. That’s what I’ve done with Arccos. I hope I’m not missing out on too much with this new partnership.

Well, I guess I will have to use 18Birdies now, but I have to get a new phone! I downloaded the app last year, but my phone is so old that the battery won’t last 9 holes using the app. Seems like a great partnership!!

Many young players today have not had to seek out a 150yd marker in a fairway. What’s that??? Ask your Gramps! Number one on my list that rocked the Golf World was the GPS. Front, back, center and hit it! MyGolfSpy and 18Birdies will be a good team. Keep up the good work!!

Right on, just this Sunday had two young guys ask me what the red, white and blue poles in the fairway were for…..I told them they were targets and if you hit one you get a free shot…..

I feel like 18 Bridies has received a huge influx of cash. This is the 3rd company I’ve seen them partner with on some level. This is a very interesting partnership
