MyGolfSpy Collabs

Introducing | GolfSpy x Collabs |

This is a new space where we will bring together some of the most talented creators and designers inside and outside the golf space and share their passions with the world. Our first collaboration is with LabWorx who helped us create one of the coolest things we’ve ever done at MyGolfSpy. If you’re looking to make your golf club look unique, look like you, Labworx is where to go.

Now, before you press play, let us give you a quick backstory of how this video came to life.

If you’re a #SneakerHead, I’m pretty sure you’ve already heard of YouTube star Kustoo. No? Let’s just say he is more than a little bit famous in the shoe world. He’s also super passionate about golf.

KUSTOO x 1 of 1

Before Nike all but exited the golf biz, we got to know Jacques Slade (AKA Kustoo) just a little bit on the Swoosh’s golf media circuit. He even wrote a couple of stories for MyGolfSpy about some of the iconic Nike sneakers that had been adapted for golf.

So, a few months back when we decided we were ready to get serious about video, we reached out to Kustoo – whose popular unboxing videos have propelled him to icon status in sneakerhead circles – for some advice on how to get rolling with what we hope will grow into a successful video presence for MyGolfSpy.

He provided us with some great info, helped us set reasonable expectations for ourselves and our channel, and was just incredibly generous with his time.

Soon after, we came up with an idea for a cool and unique way to say thank you, so we asked Kustoo about his all-time favorite shoe, and then we reached out to golf equipment customizations specialists Labworx to help us bring our idea for a sneaker themed putter package to life.

What you’ll see in the video above is what we hope will prove to be the first of many MyGolfSpy collabs with…

I think it was a very cool gesture. So what if he’s not a golf guy, MyGolfSpy is all about golf, so the gift makes total senses! You wouldn’t expect a doughnut company to send someone a hot dog gift basket, would you?!?
The people complaining are probably the same one’s who whine every time they enter a giveaway or contest and don’t win…or don’t donate anyhow. From my perspective, I gave MGS my donation in support of what they’ve done and continue to do. We don’t have insight to the internal dealings at MGS, nor are we co-owner’s, so trying to question or micro-manage their decisions based on perceived “observations” is ludicrous!

      Wow. Amazing gifts for him.
Pretty painful that he hasn’t heard of Scotty Cameron and called a headcover a “golf head” lol
I do wish he could 100% appreciate it like us golf nuts…
But maybe it will encourage him to take up the game. He sure would have bragging rights with any good knowledgeable friends.

You could, you know, just buy like a size 6 kids shoe in whatever you want and use that as a headcover. Alot of people do it and its only like $40 for kid’s Jordan’s.

Funny it’s the ‘guy’ who hasn’t heard of Scotty Cameron or Titleist who gets the $$$$$$$1,500 plus dollars of free swag. Nice. I’m not sure how you picked this guy but I hope you don’t send him anything else. Could’ve just tossed a bunch of cash his way for a plug.

You guys are absolutely amazing. We try and have a little fun, do something cool, and say thank you to a guy who incredibly generous with his time while providing insights that will help us build the next phase of MyGolfSpy and this is all you have to say?

What’s better, this is some ignorant-ass shit coming out of your mouths. You don’t know the first thing about how this came to be. You certainly have no idea what arrangements we made with Labworx, but let me just assure you that we didn’t spend a dime of our donations on it.

You have literally no idea what you’re talking about but please don’t let something like complete ignorance on the subject at hand keep you from tossing in your 2 cents.

      Again…unbelievable.

Tony-not jumping on the bandwagon, but just remember, when you open your comment section to the world, you get all kinds. Also, key word: perception.

      Tony Covey

We leave the comments open to hopefully foster intelligent discussion. There’s perception and then there’s abject supposition.

Jacques helped us out (and continues to help) with something, and not for anything, posting the unboxing helps us out quite a bit as well.

It’s pretty sad when we can’t even offer somebody a thank you gift without supposedly loyal readers getting wound up as if Kustoo got something that should have been theirs.

Actually, sad isn’t the word. Let’s go with pathetic.

Wow..just wow!! Could you be any more clueless. I would bet a large amount of money that “Don” is one of the dozens who doesn’t bother to read the application process for testings, only has 4 posts and they are all testing “entries,” only posts that he’d be perfect for the testing.

Then complains he didn’t win a monthly contest. Talk about a entitled self important blow hard.

      Takes all kinds I suppose.

That entire package is off the charts, from the box, packaging, the incredible putter cover and of course the gold SC Newport 2!!

      Well done MGS and Kustoo!
