We’ve told you about Shot Scope’ new V2.
It’s our opinion that the Shot Scope V2 is one of the best golf analytics packages in the industry.
“It’s the easiest shot collection data device there is, all you have to do is go play golf.” – John Barba

I agree, the support is top notch. I have used my Shot Scope for the past 4 rounds, and it was a rough start, but I think we’ve worked out all the kinks now.
Their dashboard is easy to use, but my biggest complaint would be that it takes more than just a few minutes to edit a round afterwards.
I have custom “caddy books” of my home-course, and I track club used, yards, location, everything, and when I compare it to Shot Scope, it’s good, but sometimes not accurate. So I’m forced to confirm every shot is accurate online (which I am okay with, because it’s the data that I’m most interested in), but it takes well over 30 minutes / round.

Ernest- I bought SSv2 at the beginning of the season and have about 15 rounds in. Overall I’m a satisfied customer and I will agree that their support is fabulous.
Your experience is consistent with mine- this thing is a long way from being “plug and play” when it comes to data accuracy. If you want accurate data be prepared to spend 15-30 minutes after each round editing, which means you need to have some other method for keeping track of data during the round (or a really good memory).
The shot tracking is good. Probably 90%+ accurate, but it’s not perfect and it’s hard to predict where the errors will occur. Misplacing the flag on the green is particularly irritating since you mark the flag on each hole using the watch.
It would also be nice if SS provided some sort of comparison for the data collected. In other words, compared to other golfers with a similar handicap how am I doing? Is my putting better than average? Do I miss more greens than most?
Again, overall this is a good product and I’m glad I bought it. There is, however, room for improvement and I’m sure future generations of shot tracking devices will get better and better.

STEPHEN – ooh, I like your idea of comparing data with other golfers of similar handicap.
Glad I’m not alone in the “not quite, Plug & Play” world of Golf Statistic products.
