MyGolfSpy Insider Podcast Episode 2: “Hashtag” Chad Coleman – Callaway Golf

My guest on Episode 2 of the MyGolfSpy Insider Podcast is Chad Coleman, Social Media Manager for Callaway Golf. Among his many responsibilities, it’s Chad’s job to make Callaway Golf look good on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Always available online, Chad has spent the last several years doing his part to help transform Callaway from a stale and boring brand without an identity to an industry leader and, in many respects, the first modern golf company.

We invite you to listen in as Chad and I discuss a brilliant idea for a MyGolfSpy spinoff, our shared passion for frozen yogurt, and of course, social media in the golf world.

I thought it was a great interview. It’s interesting to learn about the people behind the golf scene that you very seldom hear about.

A good listen in my opinon.

I do agree Callaway does the best job in the industry on SM as a whole. What I would love to have asked Chad, and if he checks in here like above, maybe he can answer.

Do you…meaning yourself or Callaway worry about being too front in and center or too visible on SM? if so in what way and how do you balance the right mix.

I’d love to hear about testing year-over-year “improvements.” Would any manufacturers be willing to submit their gear to see if, for example, a 2017 M2 is better than a 2016 M2? Or is a 2019 ProV1 really (insert manufacturer claims here) than a 2018 ProV1? Would MGS be willing to engage in such testing, revealing side by side numbers which sometimes show that sticking with last year’s (or the previous year’s) clubs is a buyer’s best bet?
