Prize Pack – Valued at $935

In our first ever MyGolfSpy Labs article we put the Harrison Shotmaker Shaft Insert to the test. Harrison claims the Shotmaker offers accuracy improvements of up to 40%. In our tests, MyGolfSpy’s golfers achieved an astounding 45% improvement in accuracy on average. The results caused us to wonder if the Shotmaker could be the most impressive golf technology in the last 5 years.

Now you have the chance to find out for yourself. To celebrate a very successful PGA Show, Harrison is partnering with MyGolfSpy to give 3 lucky readers a prize package that includes a Harrison Shaft and the Shotmaker.

About the Harrison Shotmaker

The Shotmaker is the first USGA and R&A Rules conforming accuracy boosting device. It is a removable golf shaft insert that is paper thin. It is about 12″ long and weighs only 4 grams. Because the shotmaker is locked at one point only, it allows the golf shaft to bend and twist around it. It is positioned to preserve the original playing characteristics of the golf shaft.

The Shotmaker does two things: It eliminates shaft deformation and dampens impact shock as to improve accuracy up to 40% and reduce side spin up to 30%.

The Shotmaker has received over 2000 positive reviews online. Each insert comes with a 30 day money back guaranty.  It took Harrison 7 years to develop this product. Harrison has received 4 patents and has additional pending patent on the Shotmaker design.

i dont just want a shotmaker in my driver, i need a shotmaker in my driver. the farm next to my golf club has made enough money out me because they sell all the golf balls back to the club .
and the fairways are tree lined and the rough is upto your knees.
i think if i had one of these shotmakers in my driver it would pay for its self in one season.

not sure where to put this but I wanted to post about the shotmaker. I put the Harrison Shotmaker 83F into my driver (Razr Fit 8.5 w a Fubuki 60S) and played my first competitive round with it today. All I can say is: IT WORKS!

Driving is definitely where I need to improve most and this product helped me to do so, at least today.

I hit 11/14 fairways and 2 of the 3 I missed were only by a yard or so. I hit one errant drive that would have been in the rough but got a bad kick and I had to punch out.

The Shotmaker is not a cure-all for bad swings but my results speak for themselves. It definitely made so-so swings much generate much better results. I would recommend this product to everyone looking for greater accuracy.

      Thanks,
      DL

The shotmaker-specially with a quality shaft like the Mugen/Harrison/Matrix -should accdg to the reviews be the ideal solution>Harrison has always made top quality products, specially in the field of long drive,so thie shotmaker is bound to be a total winner for them.

As a private, master clubfitter and club maker, I am greatly interested in anything that will improve the games of my clients or myself. I currently have a number of drivers, one of which carries a Grafalloy Booyah Stiff shaft that I like quite well, though the tip seems to be a bit soft. I have thought seriously about trying the Shotmaker technology out for myself so that I can recommend it to my customers.

John- just curious, does your Diablo Octane have a stock shaft? Or, did you pull that out and replace it with an after-market custom shaft that was fitted by a custom club builder? I’m asking because I want to find out if adding the shotmaker is comparable to replacing a stock shaft with a custom after-market shaft which has been recommended by a professional club fitter? Cheers, Scott.

I love this game! What other game plays with our minds and ego’s as much as the grand old game of golf? Instead of taking lessons and working at the range, you mean I can stick a rod in my golf club and it will help my over the top loop, or my Felix Unger move, my head lifting, my reverse pivot- reverse weight shift and my awful sense of tempo and timing? OK I’ll buy it. I know it won’t work but if it stops me from practicing or visiting my local pga pro I’m all for it:)

Isn’t the shotmaker more of a tool for poor and better golfers that have a shaft that distorts at impact and causes the shot to fly or spin strange? This might be one item that can help your practice, practice, practice? I hope so anyway.

Practice and proper fitting with a custom shaft would produce better results more consistently than a rod in your shaft. Unfortunately a lot of golfers don’t have the time or the money to do either of the two. This product might appeal to these golfers.

Even after a club fitting I’m finding it difficult to keep my drives on the fairway and my ability to hit more GIR’s has not increased. I have a consistent swing, but perhaps the inconsistencies in my shaft performance is hindering my ability to play/score better. I would love to give these a try

Nobody could possibly use a Harrison Mugen shaft (s flex please?) & a Shotmaker more than I because if I could get better shot dispersion, I could save hundreds of dollars a year on balls. Where I play here in Texas, my tee shots often either find water or this lovely cacti and mesquite where I have to go after them. So I just save the stitches and leave ’em there. I may even be able to send my son to bulldozer training (ahem, college) with the money I save! Thank you for the consideration, Steve

Here is why I need the Shotmaker – I have had the same Driver for two years – The Diablo Edge Tour. I have tried many other drivers but I just keep going back to the Diablo. I am pretty accurate and hit a natural draw, however, I lose about 2 to 3 drives per round that I feel like I hit right on the screws – but fades hard to the right. The Shotmaker should help me with this aspect of my game.

8/10 fairways i hit, no problems, but the rest i fade or slice. I went to my pro with the issue and he seems to think that it is due to the spin created by the vibrations from inconsistant hits. From what i can gather, the shotmaker is supposed to reduce this spin by 10%, making this ideal for my game

      Quite simple really.
Many missed fairways on tight = many lost balls = expense, lost time, frustration. Help is sorely needed.
More fairways hit = more enjoyment, quicker game, handicap reduction.
Overall result would be the recognition from my numerous playing partners & a potential heightened interest in this product.
Honestly, no-one I play with have ever heard of this item.

As a retired educator, former college golf coach and currently volunteer middle school and high school golf coach, I play in 2 and serve as chair. of a one senior golf league; volunteer for youth golf clinics; and repair golf clubs free of charge for youth players. I am an active hobby golf club builder for especially for local seniors, youth, and for charity event club donations. Like most seniors, golf presents some challenges due to physical problems like arthritic joints. A softer feeling shaft that reduces hand, elbow and shoulder shock and stress, should also provide for a smoother club face delivery and better ball contact. I would like to have the opportunity to try a Harrison SHOTMAKER shaft for a test drive. It may be something I can promote to my youth and senior golf associates. Having used and appreciated Harrison shafts, I am hopeful that the SHOTMAKER feature would improve even more their great feel and performance.

I would like the shot maker on my Krank Black Rage Driver. I hit it fairly straight but with a stiff Aldila shaft. I probably should be hitting an X-Stiff shaft because of my 115+ swing speed but x-stiff can be hard to swing at times. So I would like the benefit of straighter drives using the shot maker rather than going to an x-stiff shaft.

Over the last month I have played golf in 3 different countries. In Scotland, I hit so many errant drives that on one hole I hit a sheep, fortunately I hit him on the shoulder and fleece (which was not as white as snow) and prevented it from getting hurt.

Off to Ireland I go and the errant drives continue. On the fifth hole along the shore where many gathered to enjoy the view, One such drive happened again and hit this young Irishman in the head knocking him unconscious. When he awakened, he wasn’t upset that he had been hit but that he dropped his drink.

Finally, back in the USA and teeing up at Augusta. Really excited and begin by playing the par 3 where I don’t have to hit my inconsistent driver. Afterwards, I march to the first tee, I strike the drive and it is so far off line the only thing I hear through the quiet pines is a loud scream. Members come running out to see one of their own bleeding from the forehead. When I tried to apologize, I am told to promptly leave the premises.

It is for the aforementioned reasons I believe that I deserve the Harrison Shotmaker.

After having my right shoulder replaced a few years ago and just having several vertabra fused in my neck, my golf game has suffered quite a bit. The control and accuracy, once somewhat of a strenght in my game, is definitely disappearing. With the Harrison Shotmaker in my driver, I feel that it will help me keep the ball in the fairway, therefore giving me a better start on each hole and a better chance at playing the game the way I know I can play it! The claims made by Harrison, that are fairly well backed up by “My Golf Spy” in their testing, certainly makes a guy to seriously consider the very reasonable expense for this golf aid.

Been reading good things about the Shotmaker. Been trying all winter to straighten out my shots. But that little fade seems to always come back whenever I pick up the speed. At 90 MPH I can hit the ball 250 yrds, and have a fairly decent second shot in. But when I need to have that monster drive (105 MPH, 280+ yrds) on the long par 5’s, I always seem to put the ball just off the short stuff, leaving a tough second shot. It would be nice to be able to place the ball on the right or the left edges of the fairway when I need to, and take a couple of those pesky bunkers out of play. Oh…. do i hope you pick me. Would it help if I begged a little?

      Good Luck to all!

Hmmmmmmm…….. I am 55 yrs young and four years ago brought my ole swing out of the closest and tried re-learning the game. With arthitis in my hands and a severe case of spinal stentosis in my lower back, I have worked very hard on the driving range JUST PRACTICING AND LEARNING
MY THE FAULTS OF MY SWING. Everyone is very familiar with a “Arm Swing” coupled with a casting of the golf club. The short games i. e. pitch and chipping, ugh, Harrison hasn’t invented device which guarantees getting “up & down” but is all JUST WORKING HARD to develop skills and confidence.

Yes, I want to put this in my new Callaway Razor Hawk stiff shaft and see what all of the talk is about b/c my ole Ping G15 was a pretty good driver but I was infatiated with the possibility of gaining additional yards. For me I know that it is not the Bow that is the problem it is the archer…….. But I want to TRY THIS AND TELL ALL OF MY FRIENDS….. WHO WILL BE DYING OF ENVY TO TRY IT OUT THEMSELVES…… Let’s do this thing and I appreciate the offer to test drive their product.

      Sincerely,
      Michael

I started golf about 9 years ago and hit the ball fairly long but with an occasional wicked slice that seemingly came out of nowhere. I then took a series of lessons that resulted in me significantly lowering my handicap (from 24 to 11) in less than a year but the downside is that I have been fighting a hook off the tee with my driver ever since. I even went to an extra stiff shaft, which helped a bit but I lost some distance. The Harrison Shotmaker therefore seems like the perfect solution and I am willing to give it a try as soon as I can afford too, as I have just spent a bit too much on getting a new driver (Cobra ZL Encore) and Exotics CB4 3-wood and XCG 5 5-wood. Would love to win that Shotmaker !!!

The Harrison Shotmaker would transform my game by allowing me to pull driver more often. I have a higher swing speed, so for a lot of holes I have to use 3 wood or hybrid because I’m not confident I can land my driver in a tight area. With the improved dispersion from using the Shotmaker insert I’d be able to pull driver more often, which means a shorter club into the greens, which translates into lower scores. Lower scores= happier me!

I haven’t yet tried the Harrison shotmaker but I am very intrigued by the kind of reviews this device is getting. One of the things I notice about my driver is the dispersions that are possible when swinging the big stick, yet it seems like every newer course requires you to hit driver to get a nice approach shot. I hope the Harrison shotmaker will give me the confidence to bomb the driver more often. After all, we pay so much for one club, we sure ought to hit it more.

I would love to be able to walk straight out from the Proshop where I work, tee it up with the members before reminding them how long it has been since I last played and know I am going to hit it dead straight down the middle while they watch and wonder how a guy who always seems to be working can still show them a thing or two.

And if that’s not good just to be a winner of a great prize

I had originally purchased this after reading the reviews and was extremely impressed with the results and truth behind the reviews. The quote that shots go “hauntingly straight” really hit the nail on the head. Too bad I had my clubs stolen while on a golf trip in southern Indiana, my Nike VR Pro Driver with Shotmaker installed was probably the biggest expense I’ve had to eat.

On the local course I play I have had a par or better on every hole. That sounds great except that it never happens on the same round. More often than not I an scrambling to save par or bogey because I continually scatter one shot way off to the right or hook one behind a tree. Granted, this has helped my creativity in escaping perilous positions, but I would rather enjoy the comfort of the fairway (not to mention improve my g.i.r.). I am at best an 18 handicap but I know with just a little help I could reach single digits in no time. I don’t buy into all of the latest gadgets on improving your swing because they always talk about distance. This is the first time I have seen anyone mention accuracy! After reading this article I believe this invention is just the right tool to straighten out my shot and my game.

These thousands of dollars have disappeared $8-10 per week as a result of me being goaded into ill-advised presses during our weekly nassau. Same story every week, few good holes, he throws out the “p” word, I go obi-wan a couple times on the last few holes, and I end up handing over another little bit more of my nest egg. A 40% increase in accuracy could mean the difference between me shooting in the 70’s versus me working into my 70’s….please help!!

I have been intrigued with the shotmaker since it came out. But living here in the Philippines, it is quite a gamble to buy a model blindly. I’ve asked quite a few of our club fitters here and they are just as curious and have no experience on it. We tried to contact a few retailers in the US to buy one of each that would fit most average golfers but didn’t get enough info to push through. It would be real nice to get my hands on one of these just to try it out and it would certainly educate a group of renowned club fitters here. Thanks!

I had one in my R11 last season and it didn’t do a whole lot for me in it because it made it tougher for me to draw that club. Now that I’ve gotten my new driver, which is much longer, distance wise, in the Superfast 2.0 version 2 off the tour van with an Aldila Phenom, I have a tendancy to overcook it when I hit a draw or fade. I think this would help alleviate that condition with that club and I’d then have the distance and the overcooking shots would be gone.

the shotmaker saved my Christmas gift from my wife. last year for christmas I was blown away what my wife got me for christmas, I received 1 of 500 Cobra white ZL limited drivers. i was in shock as she threw done that much money for me as we are both poor college students. because the there are few of these drivers i had a 10.5* driver and with the shaft i was getting high spin numbers of 4500 rpm I was ballooning the ball like crazy and I couldn’t get rid of the driver after all the hard work my wife did to get it for me. I researched the shotmaker and bought it on a whim and i am so glad I have inserting the shotmaker brought the spin down to 3300 RPM! and the launch and side spin were reduced I was reaching near my optimum numbers with the insert. this thing is the real deal I have converted all the staff at my local golf shop. the shotmaker makes the shaft so much more stable and increases the overall feel i hit straighter longer shots with the harrison shotmaker and have the highest respect and opinion on the Harrison Golf Brand.

I can’t hit a ball straight to save my life. I know that almost no one does, but my range of misses is just not conducive to golf. I also don’t getto practice as much as I would like (or need) to. The worst culprit is my driver. I keep hearing that the driver is your “confidence” club, yet I find myself anting to leave it at home. So, I start almost every hole with nervousness. You can imgine where that leads…

I have been folloing the news on the Shotmaker since I first heard about it here on My Golf Spy. It seems like it would be the perfect addition to my clubs!

I don’t want perfection and I don’t aspire to be on a Tour. I do think that Harrison’s Shotmaker could significantly help me. I would be able to cluster my shots, and thus my misses, a bit more tightly. This would result in more confidence at the outset of every hole. When you start the hole right, it is a lot easier to keep a reasonable score.

I would love to personally try this item just to see if my shot dispersion would be affected in my driver. The graphite shaft I have has a torque rating of 3.4 and is 10.5° loft. I’m a naturally high ball hitter and I’d love to see if this item can make my shot dispersion tighter and get the ball flight a little lower to get more distance. Of course this all relates to spin and speed and I’m very curious as to the affect on either, or both. My other thought is that several years ago True Temper introduced the BiMatrix shaft, a combination shaft made of graphite with a steel portion about 8″ to 10″ which was prepped and inserted in the club head. Bubba Watson still uses this type shaft today in his Ping driver. I’m sure the technology of both products offer a similar corrective result for torque, deflection, and dispersion. If I’m making an incorrect assumption here, someone please correct me.

My off target shots don’t put me out of position every time but I am constantly trying to make up for some lack of accuracy from the last shot. If there’s one thing I could definitely use more of it is accuracy. I recently replaced the shafts in the my irons from graphite to steel which has made a dramatic improvement to my approach game. As far as my driver goes, I can hit the ball a mile and sometimes, unfortunately, that translates into also a mile left or right. I would love to give the Shotmaker a try to see if I could remove that unknown variable from my game. That would only leave my putting which from day to day is suspect. Harrison doesn’t have any magic tricks up their sleeves for that do they?

Im an avid golfer and any device(the Harrison Shotmaker) that increases your driver accuracy by 45% needs to be in my bag and anyone who plays to lower it’s score. Thanks for the opportunity to win such a golf game improvement tool.

I’ve been playing for about 2 years now and this month found out my swing has come along so well that I should be plying stiff rather than regular shafts. Having gained 12 yards on my drives, narrowed my width dispersion and my length dispersion by 20 yards using stiff flex I’d LOVE to see what the Shotmaker could add! I’d buy one myself but have just had to fork out for new irons, 3h, 3w and driver already. :(

I would love to try the shot maker because I have a good swing, hit straight iron shots but get wild with my driver and feel the shot maker is just the ticket but also due to finances no new golf stuff or anything new for a long time. Thank you for the chance to try a remarkable product.

The closest clubmaker handling Harrison shafts is 6 hours away

If a clubfitter was closer I would have already worked with them to get my driver reshafted and a shotmaker installed.

I played the best golf of my life last year, but can only imagine how it would have been with a 40% increase in accuracy from my driver.

Maybe I’ll make the trip this year!

the hardest part of the course is the 6inches between our ears.It starts on the first tee with the thought — i hope this goes down the centre of the fairway– Shotmaker can take the hope out of the equation and allow you to swing with coffidence thus giving coffidence for the rest of the day . As we all know hitting fairways breed confidence and Shotmaker by all reports help with the you achieve that confidence — taking the pressure of that 6 inches of grey matter

I own a Harrison Shotmaker (G) insert. Ever since I started using it, my driver shots have improved tremendously! So much so in fact, that my choice of line off of the tee is now much more aggressive and I don’t fear the wind as much (or at all) anymore. I especially like how my carry distance has improved by at least 15 yards. Awesome product!

For the past several years the only consistent thing about my game is that my handicap keeps going up. Getting off the tee is the weakest part of my game. You need to keep it in play off the tee to score, especially out here in the desert where if you not on the grass you are pretty much re-teeing or taking a drop. For those who are trying to break 80, 75, shoot par, or go under, you realize the importance of eliminating those one, two, or 3 errant tee shots.

Has anyone else noticed club mfgs keep touting increased distance with their new woods? I have. They are making clubs/shafts longer and lighter. The longer the club, the more erratic you will be off the tee. I am not satisfied with “that one I bombed down the middle on the 12th hole” when I hit 2-3 OB on other holes. Let me just hit it straight and keep it in play. The Harrison Shotmaker seems like an excellent product to help me hit it straighter!

MY goal is always to hit 10/14 fairways and 14/18 GIR, and have less than 30 putts. (pretty much a recipe to shoot or break par) Right now I’m at 3-8 fairways and 7-10 GIR.

I have identified the the weakest part of my game by keeping stats on my performance. I have defined goals to improve my performance and I have identified the Harrison Shotmaker as a critical way to achieve those goals. I could be exactly the type of player Harrison is looking for. I would love to win one of these tremendous prize packages; I hope it happens!

Thank you MGS for bringing us this contest! Thank you Harrison for bringing such a cool product to market!

The Harrison shotmaker would enable me to lower my scores exponentially. If I’m appreciably more accurate off the tee I would save 2-6 strokes a round. Further, if I was more accurate of the tee I would be able to practice my short game more and save even more strokes. Getting from a 7 index to a 2 would not be as far off as I see it now.
