in your up coming wedge test, could you spray some wedges with water repellent and test it in a wet face, wet ball, wet ground scenario?

Would love to see the impact to not just spin but the carry distance and roll out.

Lastly ( i know im being fussy) but i wonder if it were possible to do the test on real grass as opposed to matts?

      thanks guys, love your work.

Let me guess, you would like to see it done with a Ping Glide 3.0…am I right?✌️

Just one note. You guys should be careful about how excited you get for results that are impacted by surface treatments. Particularly when water is involved. My experience with these finishes (ptfe coatings or bead blast) shows that their impact drops off dramatically with age. I would be very interested to see if the ping finish can hold up over long term use.

Hey guys… I am not sure why you say the Ping performed better during your wedge wet test vs the RTX 4. The Ping’s Carry (59 to 64 yards) and Total (60 to 67 yards) varied depending upon the test condition. However, your RTX 4 results the Carry (63 to 65 yards) and Total (65 to 68 yards) were almost identical no matter the conditions. Spin changed dramatically for RTX 4 but did not affect the carry/total results as drastically as the Ping. To me, based on your results, I would want to use the RTX 4 over the Ping because it delivered tighter and more consistent results no matter the type of wet conditions. Am I missing something from the stats presented?

      Side note:
When you do more lab testing for your future wedge test I would think you want to test for the following conditions (all from fairway lies and may want to try 1st cut of rough if possible):
      0. Dry ball, dry club face, dry ground (perfect real playing conditions)
      1. Wet ball Only (not very likely this occurs under real playing conditions)
      2. Wet ball, wet club face, dry ground. (not likely real playing conditions)
      3. Wet ball, wet club face, wet ground (Heck yeah.. like real playing conditions = take practice swings and do not dry off club face)
      4. Dry ball, dry club face, wet ground (Heck yeah…. like real playing conditions = lift and replace. Sorry… lift, dry and replace. LOL)
      5. Wet ball, dry club face, wet ground (Real playing conditions = dry club face after practice swings)

I know… I am crazy. But it helps to be a little crazy. :)
