Lee Westwood Leaks Images

It seems like the rumors about these new PING i20 irons have been swirling since the day after the PING i15’s were released.  Well…today a PING staffer (Lee Westwood) started dropping some teaser pics of what the new PING i20 irons will look like for 2012.  I’m looking forward as I am sure many of you are for the address shot but the cavity shot is an eyeful for now.

COMMENT TO WIN!

In 50 words or less create your own press release for the image below. If what you see is a golf club, describe the design. If you think this picture could be something else, something completely unrelated to golf, you can describe that too. Creativity is a plus!

Since I first brought my first set of PING EYE TWOs i have enjoyed them. It has also addicted me to follow the family tree and observe the new genetic materials (tunsten weighting and the forged anser irons) that continually stamp the PING name with innovation improvement and player playability. The newest infant, the I 20 irons, however are not to babied. Well balanced, easy to swing and a large sweet spot, these irons are as close to forged in feel that I could ever imagine. Kick you lover out of the bed, tuck the I 20s in – instead. Superior

New Ping i20 is more forgiving, high launching the long irons are more larger and more offset. The smaller short irons gives you less offset but it will provide exceptional control

I currently have a set of ping i3 o-size blue dot irons which i love tremendously. I especially like the feel i have developed with them. I was wondering which iron ping has that could be similar to my ping i3’s. I want something new that has better technology but still fits my swing like a blue dot. My clubs are not “worn out” I just want to take my game to the next level, which would be about even par golf.

Any Suggestions would Help, even if it’s not ping.

By the way, I just wrote PING via the website and received the following reply concerning the i20 irons release date:

Thank you for your interest in PING. This email is being sent in response to the request you recently submitted on http://www.ping.com.

You asked: I’ve written Ping on several occasions but I have yet to receive a response. I guess I’ll just try again. Two questions: what is the Release Date of the new i20 Irons? Also, I was once able to view the Ping website and see “what’s in the bag” for each of Ping’s Tour players. Now, I can’t find that page(s). Can you help me? Thanks, Ben Storey Seattle, WA

Our reply: We apologize for the delay in responding.
We just found out on 12/23 that the I20 product line will begin shipping sometime in mid-Feb.
We will however begin taking orders when we re-open on Jan 3rd.
To view the players bag, you have to join the community on our web-site.
They may be updating the web site late this week or early next week, so it may be down for a short period of time.

Nice try, everybody. This thread proves that writing advertising copy certainly ain’t as easy as it looks. From the trite to the cliched to the uninteresting, all you “Mad Men” just NAILED it!

I came here very curious about the i20’s and I remain interested but all the Committed Buyers have me baffled. You’ve seen exactly ONE photo of one club….. and already you’re prepared to buy? I think I’ll get a look at the topline first — just before I actually hit a few balls. Zany, I know.

      All other OEM’s,

We, the entire PING Family, sincerely apologize as we did not anticipate the unprecendented interest that our new i20 iron line has generated. However, it is with little regret that we have created such a superior golfing instrument that we have captivated many of your dedicated, now former, followers as they have discovered that their “cheating hearts” were unable to withstand their passion for superior performance. We wish you the best of luck during the holiday season as your traditional sales volume will, no pun intended, be white washed.
