Here is a scenario for 2 piece Surlyn balls – distance above all. Let’s say you are playing in a scramble. Wouldn’t it make sense to play the absolute longest ball off the tee no matter what? Then switch to a Urethane ball for the drop/spin shot into the green. Which of those Surlyn rocks is the absolute longest?

*Are there cheap urethane balls that offer similar performance? If yes, please name them.
*3D printing, cool, but for the masses, how will they know what suits them best? And then there are the limits to performance as per USGA and RGA. Things are not going to change that much. We’re hitting the wall.
*I would want to test the product before I buy. Can’t do that online.
*Spot on re: online testing and discussion vs ads on traditional medias.

THe question was should he buy cheaper golf balls. We don’t need 3 minutes of urethane this and urethane that. You can buy urethane golf balls for under $30. Heck, Maxfli tour (3 piece) and Maxfli tour X (4 Piece) in comparisons were basically the same as prov1. 2 dozen for $50 at dicks. Even the Titleist Tru Feel has excellent stopping power from 50 yards. All that you just discussed was worthless mumbo jumbo

Shoot around 90 and use premium ball but in past have used prior gen B RX for about $30 and recently Z Star at $40 for 2 dozen with BOGO. Also, local GC has toptracer range ($7 for medium bucket) so no need for personal launch monitor!
