2012 Adams Speedline Tech Driver

Today, we have some spy pics of the latest Adams Golf driver the “2012 Adams Speedline Tech”…set to be released on July 15th, 2012.  And from the looks of it they are throwing the kitchen sink of their past and new technologies in to this one.  And when all is said and done they are claiming that this combination of technologies will deliver the golfer 11 yards of added distance and 54% improved accuracy.

More to look forward to giving a whack at Haggin Oaks?

I see the F12 fairway is now free with the purchase of a F12 driver in some spots. And is already $50 cheaper at 149.

I do not like the looks and smells of this.

If Tmag sells off Adams to Dicks and keeps the patents I will puke addidas rocket ball slime green in their lobby in carlsbad and blame it on the bad curry at the indian joint around the corner.

It kills me to think of this happening because i am still gaming a Nickent 4DX Evolver.

Couple videos of this driver on our site. We had the Adams rep bring this by and talk a little bit about the technology. Pretty good looking driver. Not sure I am sold on the 46″. Maybe the more forgiving bulge and roll of the face will help, but why not stick to something a little shorter to make it easier for most of us to hit?

It’s a real state of the art design that’s for sure. Never actually used an Adam driver before so I would be interested to hear about any feedback once it comes on the market.

although they haven’t been much of a factor in the US for some time Yonex had a titanium composite driver before any of the others mentioned here and it was longer too. Of course they started the use of composite material years ago with the ADX drivers, which were considerably longer of the tee than anything else.

Nice driver. As with all Adams products, there’s some real technology behind it. I think the stock shaft is a real Matrix RUL. I look forward to trying it. Since Adams and TM are together, I can see the TM influence on the adjustable hosel.

I can’t help but notice that the chart showing the handicap range of the Speedline Tech shows that the highest handicaps have no driver indicated.

This driver is ugly and I’m normally a Adams fan too. Lets be honest about this club it appears that the aimed it to bridge the gap between the Fast 12 and Fast 12 LS, to me it looks more like game improvement type of driver.

I would have to read the specs on this but My Fast 12 LS and I’d hit the 9054LS long before I would buy this driver just based on the information provided in this blog. I’ll be honest I’ll eventually test hit this thing but it most likely won’t get bagged.

Dangit! I just bought a speedline 9064 LS this year with my custom shaft. LMAO!! I wanna stay with my current set up but the spender in me really wants to try it.

OWK, trust me, this driver can’t hold a candle to the 9064…That driver’s as good if not better than anything in the market today…Anything…Amd I don’t even play it anymore, but I would have no reservations about putting it back in my bag..

      It’s my back-up go-to driver….The Beat….

Looks like Adams decided before they where to be bought out they where going to spend a great amount of money to put out a top quality product. My question is what happened to the velocity slots.

They can’t put velocity slots on driver heads since the COR is already maxed out. Doing would would make the head non-conforming to the .83 limit.

I think he means the “wifi” signal on the back. My guess is they couldn’t do it because of the carbon fiber wing on the back. Plus, everyone bitched about them, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they get rid of them completely.

This driver looks fantastic and if that is actually carbon fiber, Adams can be setting the trend of future club making materials. I really enjoy the innovations that Adams are putting into their clubs.

The carbon fiber on that rim is quite visible, but requires a close look to see it.

No disrespect to Adams, and if you look in the 9064 driver review, I give a very strong endorsement of bother the driver, which I played, & the Pro-Gold irons, which are the only non-Mizuno irons I’ve bagged in 26+ years, however both Callaway and Cobra have been using carbon finer much more prominently(the whole driver head) than Adams for years…They are on their third generation+ with their carbon finer….

Adams can be credited with many trend setting ideas, however the minimal use of carbon finer isn’t one of them….

Didn’t the Redline Driver have a composite crown?

      R. P. Jacobs II

Sliq, yes, the Redline RPM(2005) had a carbon-titanium composite crown…Adams followed with a quad-port adjustable weights model, though I don’t know if that was a carbon-titanium head..

Actually, it appears that Callaway was the first to market the carbon-titanium composite head in about 2004, with their home run model being the ERC Fusion(2005), which was 2nd generation…

At that time, Cobra, Mizuno & TMaG all introduced their 1st generation compsite models…Many went away from it, though Callaway & Cobra improved the technology…

Hello, Callaway Golf has set the trend for composite materials. They own almost every patent available and have chip brewer as CEO, past Adams CEO. Do you think this will even come close to future designs of RAZR drivers coming soon. Now if they paint it white it might sell.

It looks similar to the 9064 & 32..Those were phenomenal drivers & I couldn’t really understand why the just sorta did away with them and didn’t really follow-up with a next generation player’s driver in that line..I’m thinkin it was a $$ thing..Smaller market, less sales, better use of financial resources in getting a driver for the masses…The F12, while it’s marketed as a player’s driver, is not, IMHO, in the same class as the 9064…That was a beautiful beast!…..

This is cool getting what looks like the internal sales slides or something! It’s interesting to see how the company tells themselves their designing products, before it gets a marketing lobotomy.

Also, on the driver weight slides, is the CG of the club moving towards the handle? Are they suggesting that drivers are built at too low of swingweight? I like my swingweight…

Looks like a great driver. Also looks like Taylormade is showing it’s marketing over the company. Anyone remember the add “17 yards longer”!!!!!!!!! Very similar. HUH?

Eric – It’s unlikely TMaG had anything to do with the marketing on this one. The sale was only finalized within the last month or so I doubt they’ve had much opportunity to start influencing things at this level…yet.

Internal rumblings are TaylorMade will soon be selling off the Adams name to dicks sporting goods minus the patents. It may happen as soon as July of 2013…
