Stan Smith Golf Shoe – One For The Memories

The Stan Smith Golf Shoe

The iconic Stan Smith silhouette is now a sustainable golf shoe. The first design was introduced to the world more than 50 years ago.

You might have seen his latest version covered in green for the first major which was received well by the public. Now Stan Smith and adidas have come out with a golf shoe for the classic and versatile golfer.

adidas is on a mission to end plastic waste by making shoes out of recycled materials and this shoe fit their mission. The Stan Smith has a PRIMEGREEN upper, PU cushioning in the midsole and the die-cut sockliner. Throw in a one-year waterproof warranty and you have the new Stan Smith golf shoe.

The shoe is available for purchase TODAY worldwide at $120 so grab yours while they last.

Should have just put the new sole on a real pair.

I’m 60 and have been wearing Stan Smiths since the 1970s. I have a fresh pair in my closet right now. My kids and hipsters all compliment me on the style. 15 years ago I brought my kids to the US (tennis) Open in a suite. Stan the Man was in the next suite doing a grip-and-grin. My son’s buddy was wearing Stan Smiths and got a kick out of meeting Stan.

If these were real leather with real perforated holes for stripes I would buy them in a second. Leather’s the best for waterproof walking wet fairways

I was an avid tennis player from the 1970s through most of the 1990s, and wore through plenty of pairs of Stan Smiths. It’s an absolutely iconic tennis shoe (including the green trim that some of you dislike), and though I’m not (and never was) a fan of the kiltie, I get the possible generational appeal to some guys of my vintage. At least the damned thing is removable! ???? I’m not sure I’ll invest in a pair of these golf shoes, but this adaptation made this old retired tennis player smile. ???? ????

I have some Stan Smiths. Rather than buying the golf version with the treads that look like they would wear down after a few rounds of cart path and parking lot walking, there is a company that makes spikes you can screw into the treads of regular athletic shoes. Plus, the real Stan Smith shoes are leather, these appear to be nylon or canvas.

I had the pleasure to be a ball boy when the “Tower of Pasadena” won the final of the WTC tennis tournament in Munich. What a class act and athlete !
I’d buy the shoes to honor his sportsmanship – i just do not like those fringes, sorry Adidias

Oh hell ya. I wear my Stan Smith’s all the time and it seems every kid under 35 compliments me. They are all the rage with that age bracket. And my cohorts love them because they bring back great memories. So, yes, I’m in. And they have the kilties too—BONUS!

I like them, the green not so much. But the shoe it’s self I like
I been wear FJ classic white for 12 years. My first pair lasted 10 years . I went to buy another pair, and they had the same shoe.. They last and keep your feet dry.

With the kiltie flap removed (see picture #7), it’s actually a clean looking shoe with nice lines – more of a classic tennis shoe look, and you can throw on the kiltie when you’re rocking your Plus 4’s…but that Celtic green is a deal breaker for sure!

Dated and ugly. I would get laughed off the course if I wore them.

It might not be the shoe your friends are laughing about. It could be the swing or plaid shirt with the matching shorts.

Ugly, until you sort through the pictures. The fringe stuff over the laces is very dated. That sole is really unique and I appreciate the revolution happening of making golf shoes look like real shoes. Still, $120 for shoes I wear once every 1-2 months is a bit salty for my taste.

It’s called a “kiltie” and I couldn’t agree more! Waaaaaay out of style.

I was today years old when I found out that’s called a kiltie. Looks super dated like you should be wearing a three stooges golf fit with big hat that has that fuzzy ball on top.

The laces basically go through to hold it in place, you can easily remove it if you like the rest of the shoe.

The kiltie is ugly, but it is also removable. Just a “retro” thing from that time period when Stan Smith tennis shoes were popular. I wore them in high school in the 1970’s, and my Etonic golf shoes from that era had those kilties, as that was the style at that time.
