Fall ’08 Lineup for TaylorMade Japan

TaylorMade Golf has unveiled the first unofficial images of the new TaylorMade Burner PLUS Driver & Iron designs ahead of the clubs official debut in Japan. In Japanese, the term “PLUS” must mean “Same thing but slightly different”. Not seeing much difference from the Tour Burner driver and irons from 2008 but I am sure their 2009 releases will be more “Jaw Dropping”. With all the new clubs I am hearing in the pipeline from other manufacturers I am sure TaylorMade will make a Big Splash here in th US for 2009. But for now take a look at what they are releasing in Japan for Fall 2008.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the Burner Plus and the new Burner 2.0 Which is the better club. Looking to buy a new set and really like them both on everything I have read.

I recently purchased the 2008 Burner Plus irons. They are absolutely the best clubs I have ever owned, and I have been golfing for over 35 years. Balls hit with these clubs launch high and straight, and are very long. I am hitting the ball farther than I ever have in my life with no extra effort. They have great feel and are very forgiving on off center hits. These clubs are so good they feel like they should be illegal. If you are searching for new irons, do yourself a favor and give these a try they are simply outstanding. I only wish I had gotten a hold of these a long time ago.

I have the 2008 Burner+ irons and i think they are superb, with regular steel shafts. I can only think there might be a change in shaft, they look identical to mine. Well done Taylormade for a superb club. Please bring out a gap wedge for this set. The pitch wedge is 45 deg. and the sand is 55 deg. too much difference.

So, does anyone know when or if the Burner Plus driver will come to America? The price in Japan is pretty high.

Give us a break, for those of us in the retail side of things, it’s impossible to keep up. TaylorMade needs to start attending new clubs anonymous meetings- seriously.
