Testers Wanted – Top Flite Gamer Golf Ball

With the 2020 Top Flite Gamer on shelves at DICK’S Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy, I suppose we could say a classic fan favorite is back.

The thing is, though, that many of you may not have noticed it was gone.

The original Top Flite Gamer developed a cult following.

However, three years ago, DICK’S scrapped the Surlyn side of the Gamer’s family tree and decided to focus on the three-piece, urethane-covered Gamer Tour.

While you may have lamented the loss of the original, at $25 a dozen, the Gamer Tour was a solid bargain in the “kinda like a Pro V1” category that golfers on a budget find so attractive.

Now, we’d like to get some feedback from MyGolfSpy readers.

We’re looking for four MyGolfSpy readers to test, review and keep one dozen Top Flight Gamer golf balls.

Head to the Top Flite Gamer testing thread in the forum to APPLY

This testing opportunity is open to golfers who live in the USA.

I’ve been doing my own testing this past month and I’m curious to see what your results are like. So far for me the ball has been a strong performer but I have concerns about the cover holding up. A few rounds in the cover seems to scuff a lot easier than I’d anticipate.

I’ve noticed that these scuff easily, also. I have 3, so far, that are all the worse for wear. This is after a handful of 9 hole rounds.

I have bough a two dozen ( $35 ) of these balls. they seem to work better in cold weather then Pro V not so much in warm humid weather But they are the best Bang for the buck ..The best part is if you hit one way right just drop another ball because they are so cheap why look.

I like the Oncore Vero X1 for r example.
The other off brand balls seem to miss the mark.
      Dicks does well with Maxfli.
At one point, Top Flite was the largest selling ball.

I usually play the Bridgestone Tour Bx and I saw these balls on a shelf at Dicks and noticed how these sort of copy the dimple pattern of that ball and I would love to see how these perform as a budget option for leafy and wet northeast winters and springs.

I’ve been playing the top end “Cut” ball for a couple of months and at $29 per dozen it sure beats paying $45+ for the supposed top-end ball. I’d be will to save another $4 if it measures up. Previously, a Top Flite is like hitting a rock in the winters here in Pennsylvania.

I’d be interested in being a tester of this ball. I’m in process of trying to find the right ball for me. I’ve never consistently played any ball and until this season did not even realize how differently balls can perform or how to go about choosing one that beat suits my game. I lose a fair amount of balls so I’d be interested in finding a ball that works well but is below the top-tier $45/dozen balls. I think I need a ball with less spin off the driver- I would give up spin around the green if I could find more fairways or have drives that just end up in the woods to be just in the rough. My miss is a push fade with the driver, I’m pretty straight with my irons, even baby draw sometimes..
