Yes or No: Nike Air Jordan 6 Golf Shoes

As reported recently by our friend Ryan over at Golf News Network and the sneakerheads over  at GolfPunkHQ, Nike appears poised to release a new golf shoe under its Jordan Brand.

According to both sources, the Jordan 6 golf shoe, which is already available in Japan will soon be available in the US in two distinct colorways pictured; black and white (Oreo) and Red and White (Infrared…not whiteNred).

Actual release date is unknown, although we’re comfortable with probably soon. The retail price hasn’t been announced either, but we’re equally as comfortable with probably not cheap.

Does Jordan Have Crossover Appeal?

jordan6-1

The Jordan brand is as iconic as it gets in shoe circles, so it makes plenty of good sense that Nike would continue to leverage success in other areas of its business for the benefit of its golf division.

But, as we’re all too aware, you golfers can be a particularly finicky, and traditional group, so you tell us…

Does this shoe excite you?

Would you consider adding the Jordan 6 to your golf shoe collection?

Yes or No?

These will be perfect for the guys dressed like Rickie Fowler while they shoot 120, or the guys who wear their hats backwards and think it’s hilarious to try Happy Gilmore tee shots 6 times in a round…..
If a single digit handicap were to wear these, I’d be amazed.

Scratch golfer here – Damn right I’m rocking these kicks…and I’m doing so playing with Nike clubs! Sacré bleu. Relax bro, the game is not serious. Just have some fun. I’ve been beaten by traditional golfers who would scoff at wearing shorts and locals wearing jeans, flip-flops and t-shirts. Just have fun, be yourself and welcome the diversity.

Hmmm. They look ok. The only problem is that I don’t plan on playing golf wearing my basketball shorts. Nor do the courses I play at allow jeans to wear with these sneakers. Hey if you can pull off the look then cool. I am not fashionably advanced enough that I can look cool wearing these.

Definitely a Huge NO , Jordan and golf don’t mix, he had not place in Ryder Cup team and look what these shoes are doing to Keegan’s game. The last thing we need, it’s less fortunate kids killing each other for these over priced / bend over shoes.

No way I would want these. Too many other ugly shoes on the market already. MJ just got $10 Million from Safeway settlement. He doesn’t need the cash.

I still like my golf shoes to look like golf shoes – not running shoes, basketball shoes, etc. Just my preference.

      Maybe.
Do they offer any of the qualities I normally look for in a golf shoe?
Not enough info available to make the call.
They don’t look like they work with my non cargo short golf look. Dress shorts not so much.

Limited experience with Nike Golf shoes, I tried the Lunar Claytons and they were comically narrow. I suspect true athletic shoes from them would run in a more normal width but I’ll stick with my A.E.’s.

Without a doubt, those white and red kicks must be had the minute they drop. They work with any attire, catz would rock the white & concord AJ11’s with a tux to prom or weddings!

They need to be released by the golf division. They completely cut golf shops out of the first launch. Nike has ZERO self awareness!

I wouldn’t personally wear them, but I like the fact that they exist. I’m sure they’ll fit some peoples’ personal style better than mine. I’m going to ride with my TW’13s till they die.

Everybody (who actually cares) has their favorite Jordan sneakers, I just can’t believe they came out with the 6 first when there are so many more iconic generations. Hopefully the 3, 5, 11, and 13 are soon to follow. Keegan will probably be first to get his hands on some.
