15 Testers Wanted – Ben Hogan Fairway Woods, Hybrids, and Utility Irons

What club works best for your long game?  Are you a “go for the gusto” type with fairway woods? Or, perhaps, you seek the control of a driving iron. Maybe the forgiveness provided by hybrids?  Luckily, the Ben Hogan Golf Company has options in all three categories.

We’re going to give 15 forum members a chance to test one of these clubs in the category of their choice. That’s not a misprint. Fifteen members will get to test a GS3 fairway wood, UiHi driving iron or a VKTR+ hybrid.

Head to the Ben Hogan Long Game testing thread on the forum and Apply Here to view and select which clubs you’d like to test.

This testing opportunity is open to right-handed golfers who live in the USA.

I have 25+ years of competition golf experience and have used several “players” irons during this period and log 100 rounds a year. I’m certain I could help provide unbiased feedback in the tradition of MyGolfSpy.

I play the 2018 Hogan Edge Irons they are OK but you need to hit the sweet spot…I also have their Driver GS53, right now I am just a few days short of a month waiting on an adapter (need to change out shaft in Driver) and an 18 degree utility iron …like their product but they are VERY, VERY slow at getting product out to you…of course they claim it is Covid-19…….they are also very slow at taking care of club problems so think about that when you order….

I had a 9 iron that the shaft was coming loose. They repaired and had it back to me within days. Of course this was pre-covid-19. Love my Hogans.

Been gaming two of the UiHi’s (4i 22* and 3i 18*) since they were released. My set irons are PTX pros 5-PW, which I absolutely love. The 4i UiHi replaced my old Ft. Worth Hi. .The ball flight and distance for me are about the same between the two, however, the Ft. Worth on center strikes certainly had better feel (softer). That said the UiHi is a much more forgiving club especially on toe strikes (my typical miss), though at the slight loss of some workability. My 3i UiHi replaced the Gapr-lo that I was gaming at 18*. The UiHi, as expected, has a higher ball flight than the Gapr, is more workable, has better feel AND is more forgiving on toe strikes. The Gapr was longer however I find my distance control to be much better with the UiHi. All said, I have really enjoyed the new UiHi’s and would recommend people to take advantage of Hogan’s demo program to give them a try.

Got fitted for complete Hogan clubs in 95. Still using them except for the driver. By far the best club is the heavy sole 7 wood (probably now called “a rescue club”).
The driver has been superceded by two others and to be honest as I hit the 3 wood only 25 meters shorter than the driver (Srixon) I don’t know why I use the driver, especially as the 3wood tends to go straight. So if you have a driver that acts as well as.my Hogan 3wood… I’ll be interested. Sadly the day I was fitted was the day Mr Hogan died.

Always a wilson staff man for twenty years or more . Gaming D7 hybrids and ladies driver (true) think Ben hogan’s are coupled in same niche market price and playability wise certainly considered them in the past .Two classic names in golf being slowly drowned out by the big but not maybe betterboys
