There’s nothing more American than the 4th of July. It’s the domain of sparklers, “oohs and ahhs” and everything red, white and blue…and black.
Think about it. Fireworks don’t start until it’s dark enough to provide sufficient contrast. Without a midnight background, pyrotechnics lose their luster.
That bit of deep thinking aside, Evnroll is releasing a “Murdered Out” version of its ER2 MidBlade model. Specifically, the ER2B will feature a proprietary flat black armor finish (same as the ER5 Black released earlier this year), black shaft, grip, and headcover.
Aesthetics notwithstanding, it’s the same shorter, wider, heel-and-toe weighted flange blade which won My Golf Spy’s ‘Most Wanted’ blade of 2017. Prior to finishing touches, the ER2B is CNC-milled from 303 Stainless Steel and hand-finished in Carlsbad, California.
At the core of every Evnroll putter is a truly, game-changing “Sweet Face” technology, which is starting to find favor with touring professionals. It’s not a superlative we toss around without a boatload of data to back it up, but the unique parabolic milling pattern delivers performance benefits in the form of improved distance control and accuracy. Evnroll’s description reads “uniform performance across the entire hitting area of the putter face for unprecedented accuracy and zero dispersion.”
Since its debut in 2016, Evnroll has consistently exhibited top-end performance in annual MyGolfSpy Most Wanted testing with the ER2, ER3, ER7, and ER8 all reaching “Most Wanted” status in 2017/2018.
PRICING & AVAILABILITY
The ER2B will be launched to major US retailers from July 4th and to distributors worldwide in August. The ER2B will be available in 33”, 34” and 35” lengths with an MSRP of $369.
More information is available at www.evnroll.com.

2 years agoHi Quick question, I am new to Golf and have been reading good reviews for Evnroll ER2B, but locally o ly 34” stock club is available. There is uncut club available as well, I currently play a 32” Ping Anser, does it makes sense to cut the uncut to 32” and align the weights. Will it impact the putter performance?
Thanks for all your kind advices 🙂

4 years agoI wonder how many hundred times we are going to see a company take the same old “Ping” putters and put a tweak here and there…the mold for these putter heads must sell pretty cheap in China…
Chris Nickel
4 years agoProbably as often as you’re going to see clothing companies go with shirts featuring two sleeves and a hole for your head. Karsten created the canvas and his place in golf equipment history is entirely secure.

4 years agoWhy can’t we get a murdered out ER1.2 🙁 . . . Don’t you want my money 🙂
Sincerely,
“Normal” ER1.2 User

4 years agoHas a nice appearance & probably rolls the ball well. A number of companies produce stainless steel putters, depending on your preference; imo, none of them have the feel of a carbon steel putter. I prefer a blade & one of the best feeling putters that I have used, is the BC Series with the F.I.T Face, from Bettinardi & Mizuno, which is one of Bettinardi’s first commericial efforts. Have an older model Scotty Newport stainless, made from one piece stock & it’s a fine putter, but it does not have the feel of my Bettinardi BB1…

4 years agoIs’nt “murdered out” all black? I see white, am I missing something?
TheBrad
4 years agoI think they mean, black head, black shaft and grip. What’s the point of having a sightline that you cannot see? It’s as “murdered” out as it can be and still be useable.
Bob
4 years agoYep. Evnroll didn’t really do a “murdered out” version, which is too bad. It would have looked pretty classy with a black logo, black line, even an all black head cover.
Nihonsei
4 years agoRight on with the headcover! Is “Murdrd Out” official Evnroll? Faded out or gloss black on logo and sight line…I want now, I’ll fill it MYself!!!
* I assume the same milled face, no pic, that’s their whole steez though right, a patented face?

4 years agoOnce you go black……but seriously, its a nice looking stick but to me, nothing new or exciting. every company has a black putter with black grips in this head shape. I just get bored of the same ole putter releases.
Chris Nickel
4 years agoTim – Fortunately, there’s always something new right around the corner. But, different aesthetics are one of the most common requests (particularly on putters/wedges) and if enough people want it, there’s no good reason a company shouldn’t supply it, right?!

4 years agoFunny, I asked just last year if they were going to offer to the public a black finish on their putters because I noticed them in Evnroll’s displays at tour events. This was the response I got:
“Apologies for the delay in response time, our small team has been inundated with requests and orders and are still trying to get caught up! We do not plan on offering any of our milled steel putters in a black finish, and only do a few at a time for tour use. There is a company that does awesome refinish work called LabWorx Golf that I always recommend however! Thanks for the support.

Justin

Hey Justin, I would have waited to purchase this. Oh, well. Very happy with my Ping Vault 2.0 Voss in black instead.

4 years agoNot sure what you’re complaining about to be honest. “Justin” took the time to get back to you and gave you an honest and helpful reply. Now they’ve listened to a few more requests presumably and it makes commercial sense for them to offer it retail.
The Old Billy Baroo
4 years agoYou’re right LargeChris. Justin did everything right. I guess I was just disappointed in Evnroll. I should be happy that i didn’t spend $360 or so on their putter, plus $135 or more at Labworx making it black only to be able to get the same thing a year later from Evnroll itself for less.

4 years agoKeep in mind a year ago Solo by Clean Bandit was the #1 song on Top 40 radio. Point being – a lot can change in a year and giving you the best information available at that time isn’t the worst thing the CS agent could have done. Given what we know now, it’s possibly a little disappointing, but would you really have waited a full year to get one? Another option – as long as we’re exploring revisionist hypotheticals is to have purchased a used putter for quite a bit less, sent it to Labworx and still been well under the current pricing.
