I’ve listened and read and now I think, for the many of us who buy DTC balls, it might be time to share some information by name. I’ve purchased Snell and had 2 out of 2 dozen be flawed. I’ve had 4 Callaways where the paint covered only half a ball and the triple lines were out of wack. So what are you finding? I know you are close friends with Dean Snell and would be reluctant to criticize. Tell us honestly what you are finding with Snell, OnCore, Vice and the like. Leave the big boys til later. We know Titleist makes good balls and Callaway has some issues. Talk to us about DTC balls by name.

No news here. We have always known this. I guarantee though when a touring pro tees it up each week the balls are consistent. Manufacturers check those balls carefully and throw the trash our way. We may get a good one most of the time but DJ, Tiger, Rory, Phil get a good one every time. Your average golfer would not be able to tell the difference but scratch and low single digits can. I stopped playing a brand because I got a bad dozen and went elsewhere. I think they put out bad lots every once in awhile but it’s mass production.
The question is would your average golfer be willing to pay extra to ensure he/she gets a quality ball or consistent ball. I would pay extra, although I should not have to as manufacturers at $50 a dozen should produce a good ball but the world is so FOS anymore I’m surprised you can get anything worth a damn anymore.

The ball testing is very interesting.
It is clear the Technics being used to give the best results for testing require specialized equipment or to cut the ball up.

It is brilliant that this should improve the long term quality and performance of golf balls.

It would be amazing if a few Technics could be created to give us an idea if we should replace our current balls.

If we could all use a few ways at home to check our own ball stocks, to determine which balls we should keep in our bags and which to discard or make permanent range balls.

      Thanks
      Love the show
