Testers Wanted (4) PING Heppler Putters

Feel is inherently subjective. And while it’s often part of the club buying decision, we don’t all experience it the same way. One golfer’s soft is another’s mushy. What one golfer describes as firm may be harsh to another.

For those firmly in the firm camp…yes that was intentional, the PING Heppler putter may be for you. Offered in the same models as the flagship Sigma line, Heppler offers a solid flat machined face that provides a firmer feel at impact. It’s bundled with a stunning black and copper finish that provide effective alignment cues.

Testers Wanted

We’re looking for four golfers who are motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to providing a thorough review of the PING Heppler putters and sharing your thoughts and grades with the MyGolfSpy forum community.

Testing is open to golfers in the US, Canada and UK.

Want to find out if this category of putter enhances the feel in your putting?

I play the Ping 1/2 Craz-e center shaft, 34″ putter. It’s so solid it’s soft. My grip is a Super Stroke Ultra slim 1.0 and I putt LHL. I would love to try the Piper C to see if it will better my current Ping. I will give an honest unbiased review.

Odyssey works versa 2 ball fang. Before that I used the Scotty Cameron Futura Mallet. I started with my father’s old Ping Anser 2.
9 handicapper. I am in the market for a new putter. I like the look and alignment tools on the Fletch, Floki, Ketch and Tomcat14. The construction sounds interesting.

Would love to test the new Ping Ketsch putter. I currently play the original Ping Ketsch that dominated the mallet putter test many years ago. Ping issued a recall on the putter, but I kept mine and love it. Not likely I will change to anything else but I would love to test the new Ketsch putter. I’m still putting with my Nickent Pipe. (Prize available for anyone who even remembers “the pipe”.) I also have a Ping Anser and an Odyssey, but just can’t seem to putt better with than the Pip regardless. The Hepplers look so cool – maybe I wouldn’t have to be taking crap all the time about my putter. .

Currently putt with Ping Sigma G – Piper 3 and have been putting lights out. I’d be interested in upgrading to newer model and the look/color is awesome.

Although the Piper Armlock is similar with offset shaft, I see it isn’t offered in my 34″ length I currently use, so willing to test the Piper C (34″) with the straight shaft.

      thanks.

I would love to try the Fetch or tomcat 14. I like heavier putters to discourage flipping. I have over a hundred putters but the ones in play right now are an odyssey 3 ball, taylormade daddy long legs, and Cure with all the weights and max upright..

Live in the DC Metro area and would be interested in testing a Ping putter. I’ve never owned a Ping putter, but have friends who swear by them. I typically use Seemore or Bettanardi. I would love to see how this compares.

      Hi MGS team !

First of all thank you for the awesome content, here or on YouTube. You’re definitely the premier resource for independent opinion.

I’m genuinely interested in understanding why there’s a limitation on the “supported” countries. Is is a shipping or Customs issue? Is this because you fear you’ll have non-native comments and feedback and this will in turn be much more work for the team?

Just to be clear, I’m not writing this to argue.

      Thanks!

I would love to test the Helper Tomcat 14. Have used blades for most of my life and recently put a Taylomade spiderX in my bag and do notice the increased forgiveness. I would like a firmer face and like the topline design of the Tomcat 14 as it has the optical “two dotted” lines which I understand to be best optically. Also like the slight arc option and prefer a 33/34 inch with a 69 degree lie angle and 3 degrees of loft. AM a club junkie and a avid follower of MGS!

I’m a 75 year old with a 12.3 hdcp.. I’ve probably tried more than my fair share of putters. Everything from Scotty Cameron’s to Ping A-1. .My wife says I have every putter I ever owned ( not true I sold some of them) doesn’t everyone have 16 Pings? I would like to test the new Ping Heppler putter I feel I could give it a fair and true evaluation.

Why do 90% of putters have offset built into the design that prevents the user from seeing the whole putter face at address? Is there some killer benefit to offset in putters that is common knowledge but I’ve never heard discussed?

      Reply

      Christopher

It’s generally used to get a player’s hands ahead of the face at impact, breaking the lead wrist is a killer to good putting and it helps. There’s also a fitting angle too, some putter set-ups suit different folks due to their arcs. Zero offset putters would suit far less players.

I think PING pretty much offer any kind of hosel if for an upcharge (I think it’s under $30) if you ask.

Interested in ZB3 as looking to revert to a blade that caters for a stronger Arc. Very keen to assess the feel of this club as historically (unlike my current putter) I’ve favoured a harder feeling face. Also interested in getting to grips (no pun intended) with the adjustable length .
