There is a lot of cool gear in the golf equipment world that doesn’t always fit neatly into Most Wanted Tests or Buyer’s Guides. You still want to know how it performs. In our We Tried It series, we put gear to the test and let you know if it works as advertised.
What We Tried
Your Bag Tester
Hi, I’m Harry, and I am a professional golf shoe tester. (Yes, they exist.) I actually test a lot of things at MyGolfSpy and play professionally when I’m not checking and comparing specs on gloves, rangefinders, bags, ball retrievers, etc. You can call me the Director of Soft Goods Testing here at MGS. You can also just call me Harry. That’s fine, too.
The VICE Golf Brand
Have you ever found yourself not vibing with any golf brand in the industry? Maybe their style just doesn’t cut it for you?
VICE Golf saw a huge opportunity for a fresh vibe golf brand to fill that space. They went for that space with a vengeance.
When looking back to when VICE Golf broke into the golf industry, it was thanks to their golf ball. Their combination of performance quality and logo vibed with the young executive golfer. It performed well in MyGolfSpy testing and their brand took off. They came out with a couple of high-performing cheeky numbers like a premium glove and golf bag.
Now, VICE Golf has an abundance of golf balls, accessories, apparel and limited-edition goodies. And they have a new collection of golf bags. We’re going to focus on the Vice Force bag and see how well it performs.
Initial Thoughts on the VICE Force Golf Bag
The Force Stand Bag comes with six-way divider which includes full-length compartment divisions, flexible adjustable shoulder straps and a new pocket/sleek design. What stood out to me is its popping colors and unique style. The VICE Force neon grey color turns heads.
I love a golf bag that holds its shape which doesn’t fold because of bad design or flimsy material. The Vice Force stand bag holds it shape. It’s a perfect combination of performance and style. When you get up close and personal with the bag, you get to see the small details that Vice included in their new design. For instance, the strap cord which attaches the soft padding double straps to the bag have the wording “Vice Golf” woven into them. A really nice touch and excellent branding.
VICE Force Golf Bag Pocket System
After examining golf bags for five years, in my opinion one of the most important features of a golf bag is the pocket system.
I have found golf bags with 15 pockets. That sounds great but, when it comes to practicality, only five of them worked efficiently. Why? A bag with a lot of pockets only has a certain amount of space and more than likely some pockets protrude into others, making them unusable.
In the case of the VICE Force golf bag, the pockets itself keep their shape without imploding in on themselves. This is created by using a stiffer material as well as a “frame” system to hold the pocket in place. The overall bag construction is not waterproof but good enough for showers.
The magnetic rangefinder pocket is a nice touch and is easy to open and close.
VICE Stand Bag Dividers
Who hates dividers that snag your clubs? Everyone.
Whether you have a four-, five or even 14-way divider system, they all seem to snag. Oversized grips don’t help but there is a way to minimize the snagging. Having tight individual liners helps prevent clubs from crossing and snagging. The VICE Force golf bag has a well-designed divider system with full-length individual liner compartments which help prevent snagging.
Extra Important Features
When looking a stand bag, there are a couple of main features to focus on. The first part is having good straps. This bag’s straps dig into your side. having said that, the shoulder straps with extra padding conform to your body. The second feature is the stand system. The Force has a better/good stand system.
Final Thoughts on The VICE Force Golf Bag
I think the VICE Force golf bag is an ideal carry bag. Does it have all the bells and whistles? No, but it does have enough to contend in a Most Wanted golf bag test.
Where I think they can improve is the zippers. They could be extended on the large side pocket by six inches which would allow easier access into the bag. The two water bottle holders seem to be an afterthought. Another negative is that the double straps dig into your side when carrying.
Don’t get me wrong, I think the VICE Force golf bag performs well and the color schemes are eye-catching. If you like a good-performing bag with some personality, the VICE Force golf bag is worth considering.

5 months agoI like 6 dividers over 14 individual. would prefer additional individual for putter and maybe driver. I would use bag at reasonable price.
pete
5 months agoNot for me. color scheme is hard to match. price too high
Mike
5 months agoI’m a full-length divider guy so this bag is definitely out. Plus, I walk with a pushcart so I don’t need the legs. I bought a $99 bag from Walmart last year. It’s light, full-length dividers, enough pockets & sets up for well for a pushcart.
P.J.
5 months agoI like golf stuff that is a little loud, I was interested except I thought it was a little pricey for what it is….and a six-way divider?!? Complete deal breaker for me, now days I only use 14 or 15 way divided bags.
Mike
5 months agoNo thanks, I think in my dusty area the bag would soon be dirty and no longer appealing.
Paul Helder
5 months agoA bit flashy, too much for my liking
Fred Stout
5 months agoOver 50 and carry every round. Like the look and the dividers. Don’t like paint splatter pattern and magnetic closure. Both make this a no for me.
Bill
5 months agoI don’t like a six-way top on a bag, I prefer a bag with a dedicated putter slot, and there’s no way to protect your putter with these bags (I refuse to keep a headcover on my putter during a round).. I used to carry all the time, but now walk and push. Much more comfortable for me AND my back.
When I walked all the time my favorite bags were Ogio. Loved the “Wood-e” club divider system and the putter slot.

5 months agoFrom what I can see, not a fan. I like the Ping and Mizuno cart bags.
Michael
5 months agoI don’t like it. I LOVE it!!!! Perfect color scheme!!!
19thole Al
5 months agoI don’t really mind the color. I’m 65, and times are changing. The young would say “it’s not my father’s bag”…lol. I walk and carry in my 9-hole leagues, so I like stand bags, but………I was able to stand my Sun Mountain straight up in my office or garage for about a month. After that, it started to lean and fall over. It appears that this stand bag can actually stand like a cart bag due to the reinforced thicker bottom. Something I would really like for storing or wiping down the clubs in the garage while having a few cold ones after golf.

5 months agoNo!
CMS
5 months agoFirst, it’s Grey not White. Second, you can get it for about half that ‘list’ price on Walmart’s website or others. Not saying it’s a winner just that the negatives being pointed out in comments are not exactly correct.
bjuiceme
5 months agoCool looking but too flashy for me.

5 months agoI don’t even think Harry’s serious about this bag. It looks like an ok bag, I’m not sure the weight was given (and don’t feel like scrolling up), but if the straps are digging in your side, that’s not good. Also, I don’t see how clubs won’t snag without individual sleeves – wherever you put your putter in this bag appears to be against other clubs. I play midsize and plus 4 grips, so snagging is an issue, especially if my somewhat oversized putter grip is next to my other clubs. I guess that’s a long way of saying it’s not what I’m looking for in a bag.
19thole Al
5 months agoRC, I solved the problem with the snagging oversized putter grip. I cut and inserted a 3 in. dia. cardboard shipping tube, so it fits just below the top edge of the bag. Hardly noticeable and doesn’t add any weight to the bag. Putter sides up and down with no issue of rubbing against my wedges.
Randy Barnes
5 months agoNice looking bag! If I didn’t already have a nice bag, I would have this one on my list.
Ian
5 months agoLooks good, but I wouldn’t pay that much for a golf bag.
Nick
5 months agoIt takes balls to play golf I wouldn’t look to get horse in the mouth if somebody gave me that bag I would use it

David
5 months agoLooks goid but you can get better for the price or a tad more id have to say its a no from me.
Manotee
5 months agoI like the look, especially since I frequently play the Vice Pro Soft Drip Red. But I don’t like the weight. I am 78, and walk and carry 9 holes, usually use a battery pushcart for 18. My favorite stand bags are the SunMountain 2.5+ and Titleist Players 4. Both are comfortable and wear well.
David B
5 months ago“ideal carry bag”????? Harry Harry Harry! Ideal for what?
Dave Sanguinetti
5 months agoGreat looking bag, probably would have gone for charcoal in place of bright white for longer wear reasons, but still an excellent entry!
Jim
5 months agoI don’t mind the color scheme, though I do worry about it looking dirty, but I’m now old enough that I’m using a push cart 99% of the time, so I wouldn’t buy a new carry bag. I also prefer a 14-way divider system. I don’t like the rangefinder pocket being near the bottom, if that is what is being shown on one of the middle photos.
Bryan
5 months agoDon’t care for the color scheme of the bag and would not use one as there are better ones out there.
Johnny Golf
5 months agoToo much fling! Just not a avg. guy style bag. I like cart bags too. I will pass on this one. Thanks Harry for the review.
Damon
5 months agoLooks great!!! Would use it!
Jerry
5 months agoThe topography of the course I play does not encourage walking, either with a push cart or straight carry. I don’t see anyone over 50 walking. So, short story is I have no use for a carry bag and no experience to compare this bag with any of the more recognizable names. Having said all that, IF I were to consider buying one, this would NOT make my short list because the paint spatter design is just plain UGLY, IMHO.
BrentO
5 months agoLike a previous comment…….$280?! I will also stick to my Ping bag. Love it, as far as golf bags go. The sides of this one look like it was set next to the mud where I just hit my ball. But still a good, honest review!

5 months agoNice , but not for that money.

5 months agoInteresting review. For a few dollars more you can get a Vessel bag that has upgraded materials, a better strap system, and overall looks lightyears ahead in design and quality. Or catch the Stich SL2 on sale this week for $272 which looks head and shoulders better than this Vice bag. For almost $300 there are better and more attractive bags out there IMHO.
Dan
5 months agoWhoa there, Bob. Beauty definitely in the Beholder; I think the Stich SL2 is downright “Butt-Ugly”… and Vessels are way over-priced. IMO obviously.
My carry PING Hoofer with quick-release strap system and cart strap pass-through is perfectly balanced and light weight, not to mention hidden rain hood built in to padding. The clincher is the hidden zip in the bottom of the apparel pocket, for when I find my glove, tees, energy bar wrapper… and — just yesterday — my PING 7W head slipped into the bottom of my bag; Recovered in seconds instead of having to remove all my clubs and shake out the debris!🤣
WYBob
5 months agoDan: as you say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I mentioned the Stich bag only because it was on sale under the Vice bag’s price and is made with better materials. I use a Vessel bag that I caught on sale at around the same price as the Vice bag. It’s the best bag I have ever owned (and I have owned quite a few over the years). My only issue with Ping bags is the large logos plastered on them given I don’t play Ping clubs. Vessel bags tend to use small and discrete logos, and the materials plus design are top-notch. That said, to each their own.
C. Taylor
5 months agoI would use this bag. Colors are very subjective to the user. But I like the light colors living in Florida. Thanks.
Ted leymaster
5 months agoNo, I ‘m not big on bag that look like they would show there wear & dirt
Shee chan
5 months agoI like the look n colour scheme. Though the magnetic flap at the bottom is not convenient, can’t think of any stand bag that has this feature. If I play 9 holes, I carry the bag n walk. 18 holes, push cart. Some dislike white because they get stain? I guess these guys don’t wear white golf shoes or drive a white colour car?
Charles Miller
5 months agoNope. Don’t need the attention. Buy my bags on Craigslist. Good selection, great prices. No way bags are worth what they’re asking for them new.
Jeffrey Thompson
5 months agoSeems like the pockets for holding each club is too large., as I’m usually in favor of the 14 way bag.
James Cowley
5 months agoI like the looks of it but I’m a dedicated BagBoy Revolver fan. It’s heavy but since I don’t walk the course anymore the weight isn’t a factor and knowing where each club is and being able to bring it to the front of the bag counts for a lot to me.
dcxmike
5 months agoI play Vice Balls and would have no problem trying their bag the next time I get one.
Bob Lambert
5 months agoIt has some nice features and is eye catching, but, I think there are better bags and options at the same or less expensive price point.
Patrick Patterson
5 months agoNope anything white in golf stays white for maybe 5 rounds then it just looks dirty give me black
Shams
5 months agoI’m a pretty picky guy, when it comes to movies and golf equipment. I wouldn’t be cought dead with the Vice force golf bag. Garbage as far as I’m concerned.
Fozcycle
5 months agoI have 2 Vice cart bags. Both are terrific bags. Whoever makes these for Vice, cusps to them for a high quality bag. I play about 3 times a week and the bags get tossed around a lot. Best bags I have ever had. The reason for two? Second bag was picked up on Walmart clearance for $85….for a $270 bag!
Les
5 months agoI’m an individual divider guy so I usually buy a Datrek bag. If you are wondering about all the spots on the bag I guess it just looks like any white bag after you’ve had it on a golf cart when it’s wet on the course and the cart paths aren’t hard surfaced. Mud and muddy water splashes up and makes a mess. That’s why I don’t buy white bags. They’re impossible to keep clean.
Rich
5 months agoLove the Vice Pro balls. I would definitely give that bag a try.
H D B
5 months agoThe Vice bag not only looks good, but it is designed in such a way to be fully functional while holding up. I would use it primarily as a cart bag seeing it has enough in the way of features to serve that purpose well. The design tweeks are innovative. Would love to have one. Are there other colorways?
Darren P.
5 months agoLooks like the typical VICE product – solid for the price, and different enough to stand out without being offensive (essentially free advertising). Not a fan of the splash colorway, but since VICE seems to adjust with trends, I would be interested in their offerings when I’m ready to replace my bag.
Chris Arballo
5 months agoNot a bad looking bag!
Charlie
5 months agoHad a similar bag, minus the black dots, that I gave away. It always appeared dirty, no matter what I did to to clean it up. I believe Ogio was the bag maker culprit.
Alex
5 months agoNope! The bag is coyote ugly. $280.00? Lots of stylish bags out there for that money.
Terry
5 months agoI like the looks: however, if that is the magnetic rangefinder pocket (shown in the picture with the hand) then that would be a deal breaker for me. Why would I want to bend over to fish out my rangefinder every time I need a distance?!?.
Paul D
5 months agoLooks like they did a nice job of designing this bag, some great features. I’m not a fan of the color scheme, however – they should offer more color choices.
DiablesBleu
5 months agoMaybe if they used the Red, White & Blue spatter. I think my sons would like this…I guess I’m too old for this color scheme…
twhite
5 months agoI would use the vice bag
Kevin C
5 months agoI would try out this bag for sure. I think it has all of the features I would want. It looks good too.
Adam
5 months agoI would use that bag. Looks good.
Dnewgolfer
5 months agoI’m a new golfer but have played 18 once or twice almost every weekend this year. And while I am ‘annoyingly good’ as my husband puts is, the last thing I want when I’m out there is to draw unnecessary attention to myself – no matter how I’m playing. So for me, this is way too flashy. When I bought my own set they had one in sky blue with polka dots, a purple one, and a neon green/gray like this. Uh, no. So I special ordered a blue and gray ladies set. This Vice bag looks like great quality and some thoughtful design – I couldn’t agree more re too many pockets! Diff colors and maybe would consider when I upgrade depending on its weight.
Randy N.
5 months agoI love this! “… the last thing I want when I’m out there is to draw unnecessary attention to myself …”.

5 months agoI love this golf bag !!!!

5 months agoIf it was a quality bag at a decent price I would be interested. For $280, I’ll stick with the brands I know.
José Luis Vargas
5 months agoGolf is as much fun as you make it. Shanked one in front of the clubhouse? So what? Tee it up again and let it rip! Three-putted from 6 feet? Laugh it off and make a “just giving you guys some advantage” joke to your buddies. This bag is just fun! Add the practicality and cool attention grabbing colors to the mix and what you’ve got is a bag for the bold! I’d definitely switch out my TM stand bag for this one.
Allan Thompson
5 months agoNo I would not buy. Too expensive for carry bag. I prefer a 14 way cart bag.
Steven
5 months agoI like the design, especially the top. A lot of the new bags have a lot more smaller openings which I find difficult. If you have grips above standard size the multiple smaller openings don’t work. I’ve pulled a 30 year old bag out of the basement to accommodate my clubs with jumbo grips.
Mike G.
5 months agoI love all their gear, balls aren’t bad either
George
5 months agoNice bag but I can buy 2 Inesis bags for that price. Looks like a copy btw.
Dave R
5 months agoBag is sharp looking, but white bags always get dirty after a few months., its inevitable. I’m a push cart guy and get off the wheels or going through dep grass. Perhaps if you carry you can be more careful – but I don’t want to fuss about keeping my bag clean when I’m playing.
Jay Frazier
5 months agoYes, I would buy, if price was right.
Nick
5 months agoYeah I don’t mine it.
Lloyd Davis
5 months agoI’m glad that the bag has nice features, some of which are innovative, others are just good features that should be in more bags. I wish you’d told us if the bag, and pockets, held their shape. Seriously, the colors are off-putting. I had a white bag that I loved, but after two seasons, it had to be replaced as I couldn’t get it clean. This light gray seems likely to have that same issue. The bag also looks blocky and fairly ungainly/unbalanced to me. I might be interested in a different color scheme, but overall there’s nothing about it that tells me “I gotta have it.”
MarkM
5 months agoIf it was 80s Day on the course and I had Paula Abdul in my foursome, sure.
Doc Cash
5 months agoI definitely would game it, if for no other reason than the 6 way top. None of the major bag manufacturers (Titleist, Sun Mountain, Ping, etc) make this type top club divider. Works much better for me than any other top club divider.
Len
5 months agoI would rock this golf bag for sure. Love being different and standing out. Look good, feel good, play good 😎
Bill Ragsdale
5 months agoNo, being a senior golfer this bag is not for me. I am not particularly fond of the style and coloration although I am sure it will appeal to lots of folks.
James Carter
5 months agoI love this bag. I think vice is doing really cool asthetically please products. I think a bag by vice is gonna be my next golf purchase.
Kyle Klages
5 months agoWhat’s the weight? That’s one of the most important specs when talking about a carry bag.
DOUGLAS (DOUG) MAEL
5 months agoI like the looks of this golf bag, and would very likely consider it if I ever need a replacement for either of the two carry/stand bags that are in my “rotation” right now (a Stitch SL2 and a Snell-logo’d Sun Mountain C130 stand bag – both in red/white/blue (I use the Snell/Sun Mountain bag for golf trips because the Stitch bag is just too much of a “minimalist” bag).
Before even reading Harry’s comments, I was thinking two things about this bag that I didn’t very much like: the bottle pockets and access (via zippers) to the long side pockets. I am in agreement with Harry’s assessment of both of these features; they could certainly stand improvement! Almost nothing is worse than having skimpy zippers that make it hard to get to your rain gear or a new glove, towel, etc., so those side zippers definitely need to be longer. As for the water bottle pockets. it sure would be nice in they were insulated and enclosed more of the bottle.
Other than those two “niggles”, this is a decent-looking carry/stand bag with a decent feature set. If the price is reasonable (not something like $369 -$399), I would certainly consider it.
TC
5 months agoThere’s nothing special about this bag, other than a cool color scheme. Saw it recently at the club. Doesn’t feel like it carries well, feels heavier than the listed weight, and the strap system is uncomfortable. I’m a walker, so not for me. Pockets are good, lots of room. Better designs avail. from other mfrs (MNML, Stitch, Vessel)
Dennis
5 months agoWouldn’t buy it. too small, lacks pockets, color is too flashy and feminine.

5 months agoI like it, but I am a cart bag guy.

5 months agolove the design and super colors. If I don’t win my match, at least I will look great losing.
David Whittington
5 months agoLooks a nice bag but white . No thanks another colour would be lots better
Zac
5 months agoI probably would not buy this bag. It looks like someone splashed paint all over it and neon green is not a color that goes well on the golf course. I also prefer to have the individual club dividers (as in my PING bag), and I like a separate putter well. Maybe it is a good bag but it wouldn’t make my Top 5 or 10 most likely just looking at it and reading about it. The top of the stand looks a bit cheap to me (could be the photo though), and I didn’t see anything about how heavy it is. I would pass but, the golf balls I don’t pass on!!
Ian Gunn
5 months agoI would use the Vice golf bag.
Scott
5 months agoHi Harry, looks like a decent bag with a lot of features.. If I ever carried a bag it would do the job, but even though I walk most of the time I use a push cart. So my bags have always been cart bags. Keep up the great work! Love the reviews.
Harry Nodwell
5 months agoHi Scott, Thanks for your comment. Check out the BagBoy pushcarts. They have TopLok tech that has room for the stand and lock it in without twisting. Great for stand bags

5 months agoSounds like it borrowed some aspects from Vessel Stand Bags in a less expensive, lighter material. That would be a compliment as I think Vessel makes excellent – if expensive – quality bags. As far as colors go, OGIO, Vessel & many other brands are making color patterns appealing to a younger , trendier golfer. Vice may just be the most trendy. Branding can go too far but sounds like overall, this bag “could be a contender.”

5 months agoThey got a lot of things right with this bag. I particularly like the magnetic range finder pocket and the 6 way club divider top. Looks great for carrying although the weight was not mentioned. The only deal breaker for me (and a potential improvement) is the top grab handle. It needs to slant downward, out of the way, so a 34” putter will sit nicely in that first opening when using the bag on a riding cart or trolley.
Graham Kapp
5 months agoWell at least you should be able to find it out on the course of it gets dark ….. but it looks ok as long as it holds everything & keeps it all safe & the prise isn’t too insane then yep it’s a good bag
