(2) Testers Wanted: Cobra F7 One Length/Variable Length Irons

The world loves categorizing people into two buckets, especially when it comes to our personalities, and how we think and process. Are you a Type A or a Type B? Are you more concrete thinker or a more abstract thinker?

Are you analytical or do you go by gut instinct?

And when it comes to golf, are you the type who might get the whole single-length iron idea, or are you more of a traditional, variable length kinda guy?

COBRA-ONE-LENGTH-14

TESTERS WANTED:

Cobra’s bold F7 line of irons feature both a traditional variable length shaft option, as well as a Bryson DeChambeau-inspired single length option. Cobra says the variable length KING F7 set is as progressive as a game-improvement set can be, with full hollow construction in the long irons, half-hollow in the mids, cavity-back in the scoring clubs and a bladed gap wedge.

king-f7-techflo-construction-e1476190616175

But it’s the F7 ONE LENGTH irons that have been a runaway hit for Cobra in 2017. The F7 ONE LENGTH’s feature an entire set with 7-iron length shafts. Cobra says one length equals one swing, which equals more consistency, and the heads themselves are specifically engineered to give you the right trajectory, distance and gapping from long irons to wedges.

Which guy are you? And did Cobra get it right? We need 2 of you to test and review (and keep) your preferred set of Cobras and let us know how they perform.

Would love to compare the Cobra F7 against the 1 Iron single length set which I am using right now with good results here in Singapore/Indonesia (Playing of a 7 hcp). Your previous article on single length and this one on the Cobra are good however the Iron 1 Set was not included in your review. Would love to see the difference in the two sets and make a comparison.

Boom! Cobra! Now you talking my language. I would like to try either set of irons. My current set is variable length but I’m interested in the single length also. I’m a analytical thinker who needs the hard facts. Pick me! I’m also located near you Newport News office.

I would love to be a tester.

25 years ago I got married and made that commitment to “one-woman” a bit like committing to one length!!!

It appears over these last 25 years my (now ex wife) was somewhat a lady who dabbled in variable length shafts!!!!

Now I have plenty time on my hands I think a one length cobra is for me!!

Sorry that’s the humour out the way!!!!

I’m a right handed 12 handicap golfer, who due to an accident fighting for Queen & Country back in 2002, had to adjust my whole game and swing just to be able to play the game I love today. It’s been a struggle, due to my injury I have a very flat swing now which leads to consistency striking issues due to the variable shaft lengths of current clubs. I’ve spent hundreds on lessons but still struggle with striking consistency.

I think these may be the answer, and I would love to be selected to test them, review them and help promote them to people suffering from similar issues of my own.

I always looking to try new irons. Not interested in Bryson’s theory. Would love to give the F 7’s variables a try. 12 -14 handicapper, play 3 or 4 times a week. I am a good test candidate, enticing the mid handicap market.

I bought a set. The biggest difficulty is the mind set of hitting short irons with the longer shaft. Kept squating down on them and hitting it fat.

I would love to demo and review the one length irons. I golf a couple times a week with a 16 handicap and always looking for more consistency. I am right handed and currently hit the Taylormade Razor bladez irons (stainless steel shaft/ regular). I struggle with the longer irons which makes the one lengths intriguing to me. I like the concept of the one length. Hope to try them out soon.
      Thanks,

The fact that I’m a writer (author) and a golf fanatic would make for a very detailed review……….. never mind the smile that would be on the face of a 12 handicapper who thinks one length irons are the way to go……. it kinda make sense………. rats, whoever gets them, have fun!!!!

I would LOVE to test these out. I have been a huge fan of the concept that a one length iron would improve the consistency of your game. When I first heard of this I chased down Edel clubs but their price point is way too high. I thought for certain I would pick up these clubs from Cobra, but it is difficult to lay that much out not knowing.

I’ve been using Cobra AMP Cell hybrids (3 thru 5), and they have really improved my ball striking. My only disappointment is that they don’t make H6 thru HPW. The F7 clubs are very good, but I’d rather test a full set of adjustable hybrids.

I am a sports and forensic psychologist in California. I know that a fitted set of clubs will help confidence, but may not change one’s index. It would be intriguing to see if a single length club makes any difference in consistency.

I have always been interested in the concept of single length irons but been afraid to spend the money only to find out they don’t work.
      I play about 3 rounds a week and am a 20 handicap.
I have a Epson swing analyzer and use it regularly to track my swing tendency’s.
I think I could give the feedback they are looking for. I currently use Callaway Big Bertha irons and woods. I am left handed.
      Thanks

Very interested in how One Length impacts older less flexible golfers. In my opinion standard iron sets are too short in short irons limiting turn in both directions and as a result quality and consistency of shots.
