UNIQUE. INNOVATIVE. COOL.
Some of the most imaginative golf products come from garages, studios and workshops.
We are shining the spotlight on some of these and the people behind them in our Best of Golf 2022 awards, our new annual index of the year’s unique golf products around the globe.
Who doesn’t want one of these? I can still remember almost breaking both my thumbs on the massive track wheel trying to rip 300-yard drives in the corner of some dark-lit bar in college. When it comes to the king of golf arcade games, Golden Tee rules. You know it, I know it. Now you can own it.
PXG 0211 DRIVER ($229 DEAL)
You used to have to pay what amounted to a used Honda Accord to get your hands on a PXG driver. Now, they might have the best deal in golf. While other drivers are pushing up against the $600 mark, the PXG 0211 (which performed well in our testing) is sitting at a cool $229. You could almost buy three of these compared to some of those other guys right now.
“I’ll be honest. It worked wonders.” You may have heard U.S. Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick gush about his success with the Stack System. It’s a comprehensive swing training program that incorporates speed, accuracy and your personal biomechanics in an easy-to-use way. MyGolfSpy staffers Chris Nickel and Tony Covey are long-time users and can attest to the “wonders” Fitzpatrick mentioned. Tour-level training at your fingertips. Now that’s pretty cool.
PINS & ACES
From Bud Light headcovers to Bitcoin ball markers, if you are looking to make your bag unique, this is a great place to start. The quality is good and the prices are great. If you can’t find something you dig on this site, you just ain’t looking.
MAXFLI GOLF BALLS
If you are looking for the best bang-for-the-buck Tour performance golf ball, this is it. At $34 bucks a dozen, this ball is the best in golf when you combine performance and price. After years of rigorous testing in the MyGolfSpy Ball Lab, the Maxfli Tour X is as good as it gets.
ASHER CUSTOM GLOVES
You have heard other companies claim to be the “No. 1 glove in golf.” That might be true on Tour but in the custom golf glove world, Asher is tops. ASHER was born in 2009 with a desire to provide the golf world with something it lacked: high-quality golf gloves with a little added flair and style.
SWAG CUSTOM COVERS
Get ’em quick before they are gone. When SWAG Golf releases a new cover, the internet seems to go crazy. These might be the next Beanie Baby for golf. They should name their next custom cover SOLD OUT! because it probably will. Move over Scotty Cameron and Bettinardi, there is a new collectible in town.
It is one of the most searched golf products of 2022 and for good reason. Golfers are desperate for a launch monitor that doesn’t require a $25,000 loan from the bank. We all want to get better but can we do it for under $600, please? The Garmin R10 might be just what you are looking for and it can be used indoors and outdoors.
SUB 70 GOLF
If you are looking for maybe the best feel-good story in golf over the past couple of years, it might just be Sub 70. They make good-performing clubs at insanely affordable prices. They also have an industry-leading reputation for taking care of their customers. We dig all of that here at MyGolfSpy. This company is quickly creating a cult-like following and for good reason: they respond to the issues they hear about from golfers.
VICE CUSTOM GOLF BALLS
This isn’t your typical golf company. It’s what our testers call the “cool golf ball brand”. And with above-average performance and custom options through the roof, there’s no reason Vice won’t continue to make noise—the kind of noise you hear when consumers shove a bunch of money back in their wallets and can choose from a lot of different colored golf balls.
Why are these irons still a relative secret? After a decade of testing clubs at MyGolfSpy, these are definitely a staff favorite, rightfully gaining their spot in the Best of Golf 2022. Feel-wise, they are as good as anything in golf. Performance-wise, they get the job done as well. This has to be the most underrated iron brand in golf. If you have never hit a forged Srixon iron, you are missing out.
PGA SUPERSTORE GUARANTEE
Might be one of the last secrets in golf. I have never heard a single golfer talk about this and no one in the industry even mentions it. PGA Superstore will fit you for golf balls and gives your money back when you lose them. Say what? That’s right. “If you purchase a dozen golf balls and are not satisfied with the performance, return half the box of unused sleeves for a full store credit.” PGA SUPERSTORE.
Run! Don’t walk.
Want to get fitted for a golf ball but don’t have a golf shop near you? Bridgestone Golf might have solved your problem. As Fred Couple says, “Now it’s easy. Just grab a phone and a friend.” Record. Submit. Get VFIT. What a time to be alive!
So instead of having to pay $18,000 for a top-of-the-range force plate, I can just get these for $229.99?
There aren’t many products that come through our HQ that catch our eye as much as these. Still one of the most unique products we have ever tested at MyGolfSpy.
KIRKLAND GOLF BALLS
$15 versus $50 for golf balls. Which would you rather pay? Folks, there is no better deal for an above-average performing golf ball than this. PERIOD. No, they are not a Pro V1. That said, for the average golfer, the Kirkland V2.0 is your Pro V1.
With more than half a million putting mats sold, BirdieBall is one of the most popular in the game. Yes, there are other putting greens but none of them is like this. The secret that makes BirdieBall the king of putting mats is something you’ve probably never heard of: aerated polymers. It also grabbed the No. 1 spot for best putting greens in testing at MyGolfSpy.
SCOTTY CAMERON DIVOT TOOL
There is only so much room on the Mount Rushmore of divot tools. You didn’t know there was a Mount Rushmore of divot tools? There is and CAMERON’S PIVOT TOOL is front and center (It’s only $12). It’s the paperclip of the golf accessories world. Simple. Functional. Still undefeated. Once upon a time, Cameron’s stock retail putters included a headcover and pivot tool with every purchase. Ah, the good ol’ days. Scotty, you listening??
ALPHARD CLUB BOOSTER
If you can invent a product that allows consumers to be lazier, then you’re probably on to something. Pushing a cart is so 2019 now that Alphard Club Booster has arrived on the scene. Not only will it convert your push cart into an electric trolley, it will also do it with cruise control. And it’s easy, easy, easy to set up. Did we say it’s easy to set up?
KIRKLAND $5 GLOVE
Remember the Kirkland Signature golf ball test we did? While that unicorn of a golf ball no longer exists, the Kirkland Signature $5 golf glove does. And it’s pretty damned good. Kirkland Signature products have a cult-like following and there’s no way we could leave them out of the Best of Golf 2022.
From bourbon to golf gloves, if it has the KSIG logo, chances are it’s good value. This glove is no exception.
Make it your own™. That is the LabWorx slogan and they mean what they say. From Oakley to Folds of Honor to KFC, they have made some of the most badass custom putter builds you have ever seen. Place on Best of Golf 2022? Secured.
Home to the exclusive Armor coating and the choice of many PGA TOUR players, they take customizing to a new level. Custom finishes, stamping and paint-fill are just the beginning of custom options when you want to make your golf clubs stand out.
MACKENZIE GOLF BAGS
Simple. Beautiful. Useful. If these are words you like to live by, then these golf bags by MacKenzie might be for you. Every golf bag is made using the finest full-grain leather. All by hand, one step at a time. They believe in taking away whatever isn’t necessary and leaving only what matters: carrying your clubs, golf balls and other necessities in an elegant and uncomplicated manner.
Welcome to the club.
RAPSODO MOBILE LAUNCH MONITOR
A personal launch monitor for under $500?! The RAPSODO MLM may be small but it packs a punch. Though it provides minimal data, what it does provide is generally accurate. It captures swing video and provides a Shot Tracer-like display of your shot. The data visualization package is excellent and individual sessions can be saved to the cloud. Bonus? It also placed #1 in Most Wanted Testing!
Seamus might make some of the coolest swag in golf. From collaborations with NIKE to custom headcovers to hand-forged ball markers, SEAMUS GOLF has your bag of swag covered. Part innovation, part creativity. Seamus is the real deal, earning a solid spot in the Best of Golf 2022.
WEDGE STAMPING KIT
You’re likely not the next Wedge Wizard or VokeyWedgeRep (Aaron Dill) but that’s no reason you can’t invest in a simple stamping kit, four-pound hammer some tape and paint fill. With that, you’re well on your way to adding custom flair to your wedges. Just remember, you can’t triple stamp a double stamp and if you do try and fail epically, please post some pictures so we can all commiserate together. Looking for a place to start?
MILWAUKEE BALL CUTTER
Yes, you can be part of the #FindItCutIt movement for only $14.99 or you can go crazy like we did with this one. The MILWAUKEE PVC Cutter is the tool for those who understand good tools matter. If you ever wanted to see what’s on the inside of your golf ball or do some plumbing around the house, this is your weekend weapon.
Wow! Close your eyes for a minute and try to imagine your dream backyard. Now open your eyes and look at this. We’re not sure even dreams could match what they do at PUTTTEK. This is totally different than what anyone else is offering.
That wraps up the Best of Golf 2022!

Sub70 over New Level? Sub70 didn’t make the 2022 most wanted list.

This is an awesome list. My only complaint is the fact that now more people will begin to play the Maxfli Tour ball lol.. I’ve never had to mark my balls because I typically am the only guy in the course playing a Maxfli tour, but hopefully, and sadly, that changes lol.

Same! The 2019 versions were so-so, but I started the year with the Tour X. Even did a full ball fitting against TM, Titleist, Callaway, etc. and the fitter told me not to change from the Tour X. On sale I grabbed 48 for $106.

What surprised me most about the Asher golf gloves is that they have 46 versions, colors, patterns, etc…
…but NOTHING in a patriotic theme. Not USA patriotic, not ANY country patriotic. #EpicFail, IMO.
