NEW: ADIDAS CODECHAOS 22 SPIKELESS SHOE

GIVE IT TO ME STRAIGHT

No, all golf shoes are not created equal. During the current trend leaning heavily towards spikeless, the adidas CODECHAOS has certainly made an impact. Its lightweight design and sneaker-like look combined to make it a huge hit when the line came out in 2020. Two years on, adidas hopes to continue that success with the CODECHAOS 22 line.

The adidas CODECHAOS has been a trendsetter in the spikeless shoe category with bold colors and design. Now adidas has shaken things up again with more colorways and technical improvements.

Dive in with me to see what adidas has changed and what they have kept the same.

NEW DESIGN AND INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES

The CODECHAOS 22 has had a facelift, to say the least. It has a refreshed look and the improved shape provides a better connection with the ground throughout your swing, according to adidas. But they focused most of their attention on another technology built into the shoe.

With the industry coming out with all these fancy and funky names to describe their technologies, adidas is no exception: introducing TWISTGRIP technology.

If you look at the heel and mid section of the shoe, you will see the side wraps. These wraps, according to adidas, improve grip and performance. What I can say about reinforced wraps along the side of the shoe is that they help with stability and reduce the chances of your foot spilling out of the shoe.

adidas has revamped the upper to be a bold design made with recycled materials. The multi-layer performance textile helps keep your freshies looking fresher for longer.  The CODECHAOS has a waterproof warranty and adidas’s boost technology.

NEW BOA/ZIPPER MODEL ADDED

Let’s address the elephant in the room: adidas definitely makes a fashion statement with a zipper down the middle of the shoe. The new BOA model features a new closure system with technical overlapping panels to allow for a easy-on and -off customizable fit. I can see golfers either loving or hating this.

If you can get past the look, the BOA is located at the side of the shoe to enable a tighter mid and heel section. This in turn helps lock in your heel for a more compact back section while keeping the comfort throughout.

SPECS AND FEATURES

The adidas CODECHAOS 22 comes in a few new colors. It comes in a limited-edition gray, white and black colorway, a special earth-tone colorway and additional strong and versatile colorways will be available as part of adidas’s options for the new footwear.

The shoe will be available in both laced and BOA models for men and women alongside a junior BOA model that drafts off this unique design.

After using the original CodeChaos for the past several years and loving them, I can say that these are even better! Have played about 8 rounds in them so far, and they are so comfortable. My only complaint with the fit of the originals was that I would get a bit of heel rub – not with these!

I’m also pleasantly surprised to say that the texture on the outside of these stays cleaner than the originals as well! (Both of my pairs have been white)

Look I don’t write reviews often, but I just finished 6 rounds in 3.5 days in Bandon, and these things were lifesavers. Feet felt fine afterwards, and the energy return from the boost was huge. They look great too. I don’t understand the reviews here, mostly people angry about old models that don’t have the ’22s. These shoes are killer if you want ultra comfortable shoes for walking courses.

I posted an honest review yesterday about this range of shoes and although it was moderate, MyGolfSpy decided not to post it.
Weird policy for a site where everyone prides themselves of straightforward and truthful, not biased by the big dollars….
      What a revelation Mr Beach.
      Good luck.

I apologized directly though your Contact section for my mistake.
I did not refresh my browser’s cache and was not able to see the post, hence my wrong assumption that my comment wasn’t posted.
Again, my apologies for my mistake.

I bought the original codechaos shoes looking for comfort and stability.

Besides the fact of not obtaining either, the shoes were made out of plastic and after 5 rounds they smelled terrible. Two hundred € thrown away.

It was the first time and last time that happened to me… no more Adidas shoes again.

      Cheers.

I play a good amount of golf so I can’t imagine throwing away a pair of otherwise good spikeless shoes in a few years when they wear down (& they will). I did have 1 spikeless pair & after 2-3 years they had lost most of their traction.

And PLEASE don’t try to sell me spikeless golf shoes that “I can wear out w/ my buddies”. That’s the ultimate loser move!

      Nice job Adidas!
Love BOA but am disappointed with the white zipper on the black shoe – just YUCK.
But for some reason I’m really like the look of the brown lace up. I’m not a brown shoe guy – maybe it’s because I won’t have to worry about cleaning them?
