Top 5 Best Waterproof Golf Shoes

Some golfers think waterproof golf shoes are only for those who brave the worst weather conditions and refuse to quit. In reality, waterproof golf shoes are essential for anyone who walks the course or plays those dewy early-morning rounds. If you’ve ever endured a round with wet golf shoes, you know how important waterproof technology can be. Here are the top five best waterproof golf shoes we tested in 2024.

ECCO LT-1 (Spikeless)

Who Is It For?

✅ Someone looking for more comfort. The upper and dual-foam cushion make the ECCO LT1 very comfortable.

The golfer who plays in all conditions. Waterproofing on the ECCO LT1 is the best you’ll find.

Who Is It Not For?

Players with super narrow feet: The LT1 is roomier in the toe box but narrow throughout.

Anyone expecting a cheap spikeless shoe: ECCO doesn’t make anything cheap.

Why Buy

The ECCO LT-1 is the best spikeless waterproof golf shoe. When we tested golf shoes in 2024, we made sure to test each shoe’s waterproofing technology. For the spiked and spikeless models, we held them under running water for 30 seconds to determine whether water could permeate the membrane. The ECCO LT-1 was better at keeping water out than any other spikeless shoe we tested in 2024.

In addition to holding up well in the elements, the LT-1 is also the best overall spikeless golf shoe of 2024.

The only thing you need to be aware of with the Ecco LT-1 is that it can run a little narrow making it a tough choice for a golfer with a wide foot.

Score: 14.75/15

FootJoy Fuel Sport (Spikeless)

Who Is It For?

Someone looking to play more early-morning rounds. An excellent shoe for playing in wet grass.

The golfer who wants better traction. Besides being dry out on the course, the Fuel Sport has great traction on various surfaces.

Who Is It Not For?

Golfers who need flexibility in the shoe: The Fuel Sport is extremely stiff with little give throughout the swing.

Players with a broader foot: If you have a wider foot, you may struggle with the shoe being a bit tight.

Why Buy

The FootJoy Fuel Sport finished sixth overall in the Best Spikeless Golf Shoe test but second-best for playing in difficult (wet) conditions. It comes with a one-year waterproof warranty.

One of the things that will push some golfers away from the FootJoy is that it’s a little stiff compared to other spikeless shoes which makes it a tough choice for die-hard walkers.

If you are on a budget, the FootJoy Fuel Sport is probably one of the best waterproof shoes you’ll find.

Score: 14.5/15

ECCO Biom G5 (Spiked)

Who Is It For?

Someone who plays golf on the worst days. The best overall finish in our test for a spiked golf shoe in wet conditions.

The golfer who values stability. Strong ratings for stability and traction from the Biom G5.

Who Is It Not For?

Anyone looking for the best all-around shoe: A good choice in rough weather but didn’t finish near the top of the 2024 test.

❌ Golfers looking for a traditional shoe: The unique look of the Biom G5 is not as stylish as other shoes.

Why Buy

The ECCO Biom G5 is tied with the ECCO Biom Tour for the best waterproof spiked golf shoes. The Biom G5 is a leather shoe with GORE-TEX incorporated into the design. The same GORE-TEX technology is used in the best rain gear in the game.

The Biom G5 is good for stability and traction but it was not as comfortable as the spikeless ECCO shoes. Despite being great at dealing with the elements, the Biom G5 still finished outside the top 10 spiked golf shoes of 2024.

Score: 14.75/15

ECCO Biom Tour (Spiked)

Who Is It For?

Someone looking for good traction. Traction is only going to help in wet conditions, a good combination for a waterproof shoe.

The golfer that values waterproof performance. If you love seeing how long it takes for your socks to get wet during a rainy round, you’ll love the Biom Tour.

Who Is It Not For?

Players looking for cheap everyday golf shoes: Too much technology in this one to keep the price down.

Anyone who wants extra comfort: Second-last for comfort.

Why Buy

The ECCO Biom Tour finished a little further down the list than the Biom G5 overall but it managed wet conditions just as well. We saw the same issue with the ECCO Biom Tour that we saw with the G5: comfort.

In addition the Biom Tour did not have stability that was quite as good as the Biom Tour. If you do a lot of walking, you may want to consider something else.

Score: 14.75/15

Skechers Go Golf Blade GF

Who Is It For?

Someone looking for good value. The Skechers Go Golf Blade provides good value and is cheaper than some of the competition.

The player who values comfort. This is the most comfortable spiked golf shoe.

Who Is It Not For?

Players looking for great traction: While plenty serviceable, the Go Golf Blade’s traction wasn’t quite as good as its other performance attributes.

Why Buy

The Skechers Go Golf Blade was the most comfortable spiked golf shoe in our 2024 testing. They also held up really well in wet conditions. This shoe finished higher on the list of best spiked shoes than either of the ECCO spiked models. The shoes come with a one-year waterproof warranty.

The only area where they struggled just a bit was traction. Other spiked shoes have better traction but they may not match the comfort and waterproof capability of the Go Golf Blade.

Score: 14.5/15

Final thoughts

When shopping for the best waterproof golf shoes, looking for a pair with a waterproof warranty is essential. This warranty is a key indicator that the shoe’s technology goes beyond basic “water resistance” and offers true waterproof protection, ensuring your feet stay dry even in the wettest conditions.

Any list that doesn’t include the Nike Infinity Tour 2 Gore-Tex isn’t legit. I’ve worn them twice so far in sub 35* temps with freezing rain and snow covered greens. Not wet feet. Not cold feet. These things are legit. And I’m not a Nike guy. I lean more toward True Linkswear. But dang these things are awesome winter shoes. Especially here in NW Indiana.

How come MGS mostly publishers golf information for men and not women? Women need and desire the same level of information when purchasing golf gear, and yet even with a woman writing this article, there is no mention of what waterproof shoes a woman might benefit from. I’m a long time reader of MGS, and pretty sick and tired of rarely being included. And one other thought about the articles you do include for women. Not all of us choose our golf gear because it comes in pink or floral patterns. We also want reviews based on the technical aspects and accomplishments of any gear we purchase.
