As a high indexer 70 year old, who am I to tell any of you to shut down the music? I enjoy golf, music and pranking you youngsters. Life is too short not to have fun even on the golf course. Let’s enjoy golf.

Guys, you really need to distinguish between old and elitist. I absolutely agree that the elitist aspect of golf is still there, it’s one of the few sports where you still have private, membership-only venues. However, when you say old golfers, what do you mean? You mean the >50 crowd, the folks that buy the new equipment every year? Let’s not pretend these covid golfers will raise the sport several levels higher. Just as in the early tiger years, many people started playing, but a fair % had stopped midway thru the 2010’s. The same thing will happen here once all activities are allowed again. Some will stay while many will. Golf is an expensive game, takes time to play, and generally takes time to get decent at. When some of those covid golfers see that a driver, even a great used one, costs more than that entire starter set they bought last year, we’ll, that would be a wake up call for some. And don’t let me get started on the antics on some of these covered golfers, some of whom have absolutely ZERO idea about etiquette. I’m not defending the crusty old guys, I’m just saying I play with a lot more not-old assholes than older ones.
