Today, PUMA Golf and PUMA Hoops announce a first-of-its-kind collaboration titled “In The Rough.” The collection is inspired by the street culture’s toughness and grit and is designed to be worn on and off the course.

PUMA Golf x PUMA Hoops “In The Rough” Collection: A Closer Look

The “In The Rough” Collection consists of multiple apparel and accessory items for men and women. The collection makes use of a new stylized cat logo which, frankly, I love.

Flanking the entire collection is a pair of basketball-style golf shoes. The spikeless golf shoes, inspired by the popular PUMA Slipstream, are a gem. The original PUMA Slipstream basketball shoe was launched in 1987 but returned in the 2000s when chunky retro basketball shoes started to find the mainstream again.

The retro styling and tooling are met with modern cosmetics including a fantastic animal-print sock liner.

Apparel and Accessories

A host of apparel and accessory items round out the collection. You have your choice of polos, T-shirts, joggers and even retro-style basketball shorts that are perfect for lounging or getting in a quick pickup game at the local YMCA.

As for the ladies, you’ll have your pick of the Racerback Polo or Golf Dress, along with a sleek jacket and visor.

The PUMA Golf x PUMA Hoops “In The Rough” Collection is one of the best apparel collections of the year and my personal favorite. It’s about time someone other than Jordan Brand made the connection between the two sports. It just makes sense. Both golf and basketball have the same goal: Get the ball in the hole.
