Because We Can’t Stop Playing
If you’ve turned your television on lately, flipped to any news channel or browsed the internet in the past month then you already know…our economy is in the worst place it has been in a long time. Knowing this, and knowing what is most likely happening to our 401k’s, our stocks, our retirement accounts and our investments, one question to golfers comes up. How the hell are we supposed to afford our favorite hobby, Golf?
Simple really, you stop paying top dollar prices for “BRAND NEW” clubs that just came out and you start shopping smart, trading clubs in, reaping massive discounts on clubs that work just as well. Have 2 or 3 old sets of irons and woods lying around your garage? Have a set you bought, tried, didn’t like but couldn’t take back to the pro-shop?
GlobalGolf’s “Simple Quote System”
Join the club, and then go join GlobalGolf.com. They actually have a trade-in program where your old golf clubs are still worth some money or you can trade-up for new clubs! Yeah, you could go to EBAY but there you have to go take pictures, upload them, write a description, then perform about 15 other steps in order to just put your clubs up for sale, that doesn’t guarantee you will sell them.
GlobalGolf.com offers you a Simple Quote System where you input the type of clubs you have, be it drivers, woods, hybrids, iron sets, putters or wedges, acknowledge that the club is in good shape and not in need of any repairs, and bam, you have an instant quote. Simple drop-down menu’s make it quick and painless. What more can you ask for?
We tested it out and put in a TaylorMade 2008 Tour Burner and in about 10 seconds we were offered $133.00 Don’t think that is a good deal? Then don’t worry about it, because they have such a large assortment of used clubs, that you might not even need to trade-in your old sticks. We did a search to see what newer versions of Ping Drivers came up, and prices ranged from $35 to $185 for clubs that retailed for 2 to 4 times that. Now you can make your golf bag a little more “Depression Proof”.
Depression Proof Golf!
Lets face it, for many people golf is an addictive and expensive hobby. Rising green fees, membership fees, gas prices, and the impending economic crisis make enjoying the sport we all love so much increasingly difficult. But there are lots of ways to save money every single time you go play or go to buy new clubs. GlobalGolf.com is a good resource to have…so go bookmark them and then read up on “10 Ways To Spend Less on Golf During Recession”
If you can get around the drawback being offered a small percentage of what you paid for that new driver then I fully advise trying out the trade-in evaluator. If you can’t bear to part with them, don’t, just find a great deal on a pre-owned club. Try it out, GlobalGolf.com, tell us what you think and what steals and deals you’ve found!

Sites like this and forums BSTs are a club HOs heaven. I now refuse to buy new clubs (apart from wedges) because of the rapid club turnover. You can buy cheap ex demos not long after release. And GG are great for buying that cheap club that you had years ago you hit perfect everytime and regret selling on a daily basis
