Why I Started MyGolfSpy
When I first had the idea to build MyGolfSpy…I truly wanted it to be 100% dedicated to golfers. You see…I had spent my entire adult career entrenched and devoted to helping golfers become more knowledgeable about the golf equipment they play. I worked from sun up to sun down…many times the only break I would take would be to get a little shut-eye right on my desk…well at least until my eyes opened and then it was right back to work again. I have been doing this for many years now and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon…that’s because there is a lot more work that needs to be done…and I don’t want to stop until I can hopefully change the way golfers think about the equipment the play.
“Don’t Spend A Dime…”
During these years I had also dedicated my life to designing golf equipment that was not all based on hype. This is something I am very passionate about…because I feel many golfers are not fortunate enough to be able to see the side of golf that I have had the luxury of seeing. With all the money being spent on trying to get every single newest & hottest club in your bag…it had gotten almost impossible to read between the lines of golf club advertising. My motto to golfers was and always will be the same,
“Don’t spend a dime on a golf club that doesn’t improve on what you already have.”
Tired Of All The Golf Magazines
I also wanted MGS to be a place where golfers could see and read things that they might have never heard about before about the industry. Tips and gadgets that could REALLY help improve their game not just talk about improving their game. I was tired of all the golf magazines pushing a new swing thought every single month. By the time your 40 you end up carrying 14 clubs and 501 swings to the course. It was just ridiculous to me. The golf swing in actuality is pretty simple…they just have made it so damn complicated for so many golfers. And only because they needed to fill pages up every month to keep the advertising rolling in. It is a shame but true…very few revelations in golf have happened in the last 25 years whether it be technology based or in regards to the golf swing…although golf publications and tv channels would have you believe that they occur 12 times a year!
So I Sold My Other Golf Companies And Started MGS
It had frustrated me so much that I actually sold my other golf companies and decided to start doing something about fixing the problem. So after about 9 months of working night and day I finally launched MyGolfSpy and a couple other golf sites that I felt were geared more toward educating and helping golfers. I felt like I had to…there were just too many others out there that seemed to be more about trying to take all your money and praying you never found out the “Secret Golf Companies Don’t Want You Knowing!”
Well after a year of being up and running we have really tried to keep an eye on my first goals but also let you the golfers dictate some of the other features you would like to see. We have gotten hundreds of emails with some great suggestions from you guys…and the one that seems to resonate is to have a forum to chat with each other about all this stuff. Well we are working on that…but in the meantime we have decided to add a couple features that will allow you guys to start getting to know each other a little better first. Nothing that will knock your socks off but just a few ways to add a little bit of a community type feeling to MyGolfSpy. I built this for you guys so I want it to be a place you feel like you can have your voice heard.

Not that I am, but I sent my wife here this weekend and she didnt’ really understand a whole lot since she is so new to golf…how about a Beginnners area? Maybe that can get meshed into CJ’s meter idea…degree of use – novice, intermediate, advanced? Not sure how all that would work, but it would keep me from having to explain everything to my wife…hahaha.
You know I love the site…Don’t think I’ll be at the top of the posts though…Work no likey.
