Have you heard of this apparel brand?

Back in June 2024, I found myself in need of a new golf belt. I was searching to find a stretch-weave style that wouldn’t cost me an arm and a leg and I stumbled upon a brand I had never heard of. This turned out to be one of the best accidental golf finds I’ve had to date. Whether you’re looking for polos, hoodies, joggers, shorts, quarter-zips or accessories, Avalon Golf Co. has you covered. If you’ve never heard of them, don’t worry. I’m going to give you some of my favorite pieces in what is becoming a quickly growing collection.

Who is Avalon Golf Co.?

When it comes to golf apparel, there is no shortage of premium brand offerings. Names like Peter Millar, Rhoback, Johnnie-O and lululemon quickly come to mind. The problem is that we all don’t have $100+ to spend on shorts, polos, hoodies, etc.

This is where Avalon Golf Co. enters the chat. And they do it very well.

As founder Mike Atman said in an email, “Avalon Golf was shaped from the frustration of finding high-quality, good-fitting, new-age golf apparel. Traditional brands missed the mark with modern styles while the other modern focused golf apparel brands lacked quality, style and were overpriced. This underserved market in the golf industry presented Avalon Golf an opportunity – to create a honest priced, modern men’s golf apparel line that focused on expertly tailored, high-quality, luxury goods.”

Avalon Golf says they are not just another golf brand – they are an “apparel designer.” All goods in their collection are custom designed in-house with the finest attention to detail, quality and care.

I am here to tell you they hit the mark. Let’s get into some of my favorite products and why they deserve a spot in your closet for the 2025 golf season.

Performance Golf Hoodie

The Performance Golf Hoodie is in the running for the most comfortable pullover I have ever owned.

The first thing you’ll notice when pulling on the Performance hoodie is the combination of buttery-soft material and stretch. This thing is made to move and be comfortable in. I would categorize the fit as loose but not baggy. I’m tall and thin so went with an XL. Often, I’ll find that sleeve length is inadequate but this hoodie fits the bill (and me). I would prefer a slightly slimmer fit through the body but not at the expense of sleeves that are too short.

When you factor in the cost of this hoodie compared to some competitors, it’s a no-brainer to add it to your wardrobe. Whether you’re looking for a lightweight layer for cooler summer mornings or something to wear while out on the town, the Performance hoodie is perfect.

Performance Golf Hoodie

What We Like

  • Super comfy material
  • Loose fit that isn't baggy
  • Price for quality is top notch

What We Don't Like

  • Fit could be a bit slimmer for someone with my build

The Bottom Line

If you’re looking for a high-quality hoodie at a competitive price, this is the one for you.

Performance Golf Joggers II

Avalon’s newest jogger to hit their line-up, the Performance II joggers, are a regular-slim fit design. This is their most relaxed-fitting jogger and, so far, the fit and function has performed well. I additionally own a pair of their tour joggers (which are also very comfortable) but those are a much slimmer fit. If you’re a guy with thicker thighs or just don’t care for that style, the Performance II joggers will give you the extra room you need to feel comfortable. The other thing that appeals to me about these joggers is that they are offered in four inseam lengths. As a tall guy, joggers with one inseam size typically mean they are too short. Avalon has golfers of all heights in mind and that is not lost on me.

These joggers feature a four-way stretch fabric and and cuffed openings with a zippered ankle, making getting these on and off a breeze. A stretch comfort waistband with a grip liner helps to keep you tucked in during your round and five pockets provide storage space. My only small knock so far on these joggers is the depth of the back pockets. When putting my iPhone 14 Pro Max in the rear pocket, more of the phone sticks out than I’m used to. This is nitpicking, to be sure, but was still noticeable.

This pant blends a tailored fit without being too tight perfectly. Whether you’re on the course, running weekend errands or going to dinner with your significant other, this pant hits the mark for any occasion.

Performance Golf Jogger II

What We Like

  • Regular-slim fit cut is the best of both worlds
  • Stretchy, light-weight material moves with you
  • Four inseam sizes to find the right fit

What We Don't Like

  • Rear pocket depth feels a bit shallow

The Bottom Line

If you’ve looked at joggers in the past but didn’t like the slim style, the Performance II jogger blends a more straight-leg fit into the jogger style. These pants are great for golf and day-to-day activities.

Tour Blade Golf Polo

Another product from Avalon Golf Co. I find myself reaching for time and time again when I head to the course is the tour blade polo. It’s crafted from a lightweight, very comfortable jacquard material with ventilated air holes throughout the shirt, creating what may be the coolest polo I’ve played in. No joke. As someone who sweats a lot, this is one of the first things I notice in apparel. Subtle branding adorns the chest and the nape of the neck.

Other features I’ve appreciated include the low-profile blade collar, textured camo pattern and split side hem which makes it easy to wear untucked in a casual setting. The fit profile of this polo is slim and it definitely has a “tailored to you” design. However, if slim-fitting polos are not your thing, you’ll want to look elsewhere in their line like the new luxe polo which features a standard fit and less mid-section taper. Sizing runs true, and at a slim 6’4″ I comfortably wear a large. You could go one size up in this polo for a slightly looser fit if you so choose.

Tour Blade Collar Golf Polo

What We Like

  • incredibly breathable and lightweight
  • excellent "tailored" slim fit
  • jacquard material is very comfortable

What We Don't Like

  • If you don't like slim fits, you may want to look elsewhere in their line

The Bottom Line

The tour blade collar polo checks all the boxes. Comfort, fit, breathability and style. Size up if you prefer a slightly looser fit as it falls into the slim category.

Other products worth a look

These are just a few of my favorites but I’d be doing you a disservice to not list a few more that are part of my growing collection of gear from Avalon.

A product for every golfer

Avalon Golf Co. was a brand I had not heard of prior to last summer and I can’t tell you how happy I am that I stumbled onto them. In a market that isn’t short of premium apparel options, it’s nice to have a brand that falls closer to the side of affordable than exorbitant. Yes, it would be great if money was no object and $100-plus pants, polos, hoodies and jackets were a purchase I didn’t have to think twice about. However, I’d venture to guess that if you’re like me, that’s not the case. Give Avalon a shot. I think you’ll like what you see.

I tried the Avalon Performance 2 joggers. Everything was really nice but the waist was too low rise for me. Customer Service was very responsive and helpful trying to find the right fit for a replacement, but I ended up returning them, which was super easy. I’d have no issue ordering from them again.
