Some of the most anticipated driver test results for 2025 were for the Titleist GT driver series. We tested the Titleist GT1, GT2, GT3 and GT4 in 2025. We now have a clearer picture of how the GT line stacks up against the competition. As always, when analyzing these results, we must question whether the Titleist GT is worth the upgrade. At $649, upgrading is a decision that shouldn’t be taken lightly. Before making the switch, here’s what you should know about the GT drivers from Titleist.
Titleist GT 2025 driver results
Titleist’s GT2 and GT4 models were among the longest drivers we tested in 2025. While GT2 took the crown as the best for distance, GT4 wasn’t far behind. However, accuracy and forgiveness were not their strong suits. The GT1 was the most accurate of the group but still finished seventh overall for accuracy. The GT2, GT3 and GT4 drivers may be better suited for players prioritizing distance over consistency.

Why the Titleist GT drivers would be worth upgrading to
Here are a few reasons you may want to consider upgrading to a Titleist GT driver in 2025.
You need a distance boost
If you sort the best 37 drivers in order from the longest to the shortest, the Titleist GT2 is first, the GT4 is second and the GT3 is fifth. Three of the four GT drivers made it into the top five longest drivers of 2025.
That says something about distance. Titleist has been creeping up in the distance category over the last few years and the GT2 and GT4 prove they have made some serious gains.
- GT2 had the longest total distance of any driver in our 2025 testing, averaging 252.02 yards.
- GT4 was nearly identical at 251.95 yards.
- GT3 was not far behind with 250.89.
The Titleist GT1, the most accurate of the Titleist group, did not fare as well from a distance perspective. The average total distance for the GT1 was 243.02.
You prefer a traditional driver look and feel
Titleist’s GT series sticks to classic driver aesthetics. The GT4 features a compact 430cc head. If you appreciate a smaller, more traditional, look the GT4 could be a good fit. The GT2 is the flagship model and one tester said, “looks pure at address. I could put this driver into the bag.”
You understand the importance of accuracy but can’t give up distance
Golfers who struggle with distance know every yard matters. The GT2 and GT4 are built for raw distance but have above-average accuracy. The GT3 and the GT1 were the most accurate but the GT1 sacrifices too much distance for those who need it.
You may find a good balance with the GT3.
Why pass on upgrading to a Titleist GT driver
We know the Titleist GT2, GT4 and GT3 are distance machines but there are some issues with their accuracy and forgiveness. Luckily, a fitting can help fine-tune some of these performance issues but it’s worth being aware that distance isn’t always everything.
Forgiveness is a must
We measure forgiveness by looking at the consistency of the results the driver can produce. The GT2 was not forgiving which can be quite common when we look at a driver with the distance potential the GT2 has.
All four Titleist GT drivers finished in the bottom half of the test for forgiveness. If forgiveness is your top priority, the PXG Black Ops Tour or the Srixon ZXI Max would be better for you.
Accuracy can be a challenge
The accuracy performance of the Titleist GT series was a little better than the forgiveness performance (with the exception of the GT4). Accuracy is important for keeping the ball in the fairway and the GT1 was the most accurate of the GT lineup. Unfortunately, that increased accuracy is going to cost you a few yards.
The GT2 and GT3 had the most balanced performance with above-average accuracy. With a proper fitting, you can fine-tune that accuracy without sacrificing the distance the clubhead provides.
Your budget is tight
The new Titleist GT drivers are priced at $649; the older Titleist TSR drivers have dropped to $449. While they may not have the same distance performance we found in the GT, if you are on a budget, it could be worth trying one.
What this all means for your upgrading decision
Go for a fitting to know if the Titleist GT is right for your game. Here’s a basic recap:
- If you want maximum distance and are willing to sacrifice some forgiveness, GT2 and GT4 are among the best choices.
- If you like a mix of distance and workability, GT3 offers a solid balance.
- If you prioritize pure forgiveness over raw distance, there are better options than the GT lineup.

I have been using a TSI3 for several years. Recently, I tried a GT3 as a replacement, but it was completely unusable for me. It has a much stronger draw bias, and even after setting it to maximum fade, I still couldn’t play it. Very disappointing.
