CONTEST! – Win a Set of KBS “Limited Edition” Tour Shafts

WINNER ANNOUNCED! – The winner of the KBS “Limited Edition” shafts is SUPER TUNA!

CONTEST! Win a set of KBS Tour Shafts – 2012 Open Championship “Limited Edition”!

To celebrate their 1st Major Championship, KBS shafts wanted to give the MyGolfSpy readers a chance to win 1 of 3 commemorative “Limited Edition” sets of KBS Tour shafts!

First wins for newly established golf companies can be HUGE …but winning a major….is well MAJOR!  You hear of putter companies doing it more frequently than other types of products…but new steel shaft companies breaking into the big time happens about as much John Daly wearing a pair of plain khaki pants.

So…if by chance you are one of those guys that refuse to own a TV (in which case you most likely don’t own a computer and are not reading this)…then you might not have noticed…but KBS Tour shafts were used by the champion and runner-up of the 2012 Open Championship this past week.

According to Kim Braly, Director of Tour Operations, “The Open Championship is a victory we have long looked forward to. This professional has been a fan of KBS since his first practice session with them in 2008. It took only three swings to notice the smooth feel, and then immediately switched his bag into KBS.  We congratulate him for this terrific performance at one of golf’s toughest tests.”

How To Enter:

Both professionals finishing 1st and 2nd at the 2012 British Open, have possibly the best looking swings in the game. To enter post a Comment whose swing you like more and why!

Both players trust KBS Tour X flex every week. If you are selected, you will get your choice of the White, Silver or Black finishes in R, S or X flex. Also, these will have 2012 OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP laser engraved! Excited yet?  We will randomly select the winner Friday at noon MTN!

CONTEST ENDS TOMORROW AT NOON MTN….SO GET YOUR ENTRY IN TODAY!

I like Ernie’s swing more – fluid, easy on the eye, and looks to be in control at all times! Els gets the same distance and carry with (what appears to be) much less effort. Ernie’s swing has grace and fluidity and shows you dont always have to grip and rip!

I am a huge fan of both the golfers however i enjoy watching Ernie Els swing the club alittle more. He makes everything look so effortless. The Big Easy has a one of a kind golf swing that has been around for decades. Congrats to Ernie on his Open Championship victory.

Adam Scott will have many Championships under his belt. He is very talented and i cant wait to see him compete and be at the top in a few years!

Adam Scott has a more modern swing…meaning a swing that is perfect for today’s golf athlete. Scott is strong, works out and has a swing built for today’s course play. Els’s swing is just beautiful…slow, controlled and perfect for a guy his size.

Of course els wins it for me, the smoothest swing for the smoothest feeling shafts. But I think the real reason I enjoy his swing is that it is the polar opposite of mine. It amazes me that 2 people with all things being equal (same shot, same technology) can have an entirely different approach/swing. Also that the club can fit both swings. A little something I just call Golf.

Ernie’s possesses a certain poetry to it but Scott’s swing is nearly flawless. It seems at times Els’ swing is too dependent on all the parts moving correctly in sequence and when he needs to push his swing for a uniquely challenging shot the sequence is disrupted. You saw in the final hole of the Open: under the highest amount of pressure possible in a golf tournament, Scott’s full swing held up all too well as his only flaw off the tee was going too long. And his approach put him exactly where he wanted to be with a very makeable putt.

I would kill for either swing but would probably look elsewhere for a putting model.

Ernie’s swing has held up under the pressures of Majors & allowed him to close over the span of 20 years. Scott’s has crumbled time & time again. Ernie wins in a walk.

Forget the golf swings for just a minute … Two guys that have enough class to be considered ambassadors for the game of golf. Mutual respect for each other and for the game.

This question really has no right answer. Its like asking how do you want your check cashed? I mean honestly either way is good by me. But if I had to choose, I would choose the “Big Easy” and here is why.

His pre-shot routine is about as smooth as the current state of the economy dodgy, his feet, knees and hands shake as if he was getting stung by a swarm of bees. For a moment you think, “There is nothing ‘Easy” about that.” Then its at the time when he draws the club it all becomes so calm and the rhythm that he swings the club hypnotizes you. And at that moment when you see the extension at the top and the timeless change of direction as if time stood still and the delivery through the ball with the great release of the club to the balance that looks as if someone had taken a still photo of him, you know exactly why he is know as The Big Easy!

Have alway wanted to try KBS shafts since I hear Kenny Perry say this a feww years ago:

KENNY PERRY: Well, I put the KBS shafts in my irons at the beginning of ’08. I’ve used this set of irons for two years. I would credit a lot of that for my success.

If I were on tour, I’ll take Adam Scott’s swing so the announcers can talk about my perfect positions and what I need to work on in the same sentence.

It would be hard to say which one had the better looking swing because they are both beautiful golf swings but there a 100’s of beautiful golf swings in professional golf. Ernie gets more out of his swing than Adam Scott because Ernie has trust in his action. His swing has been forged by the heat of winning a major and knowing that his swing was up to the task. Ernie’s action was built for major championships and whereas Adam Scott’s action is beautiful but inconsistent under pressure.

It’s gotta be Ernie, the Big Easy, E-Z. He is a lumberjack of a man that hails from Southern Africa with palms the size of the King of the Jungle’s paw. With a swing that appears to be as gentle as the King of the Jungle was to the mouse who removed his thorn. Don’t be fooled, gentle reader, by the Big Easy’s big easy move at the ball: his giant shoulders are the catalyst for his downswing, they lead the way for the rest of his body to follow along. He is a gentle giant. He dances when he swings, power then grace, force and feel all in tune with one of the most beautiful tempo’s the game has ever seen. He is waltzing out there.

Many argue that Jack’s silhouette is the inspiration to the PGA logo but the classiest swing on tour is that of Ernie Els. Chapeau baas!

I really like Ernie Els swing as It reminds me of Payne Stewart’s swing. Graceful and great move from the lower triange followed by a syrupy upper body follow thru. There is very little hand action in these swings and the consistency and tighter dispersion on the KBS helps when the perssure is on. There is no wonder why this combination iworks great for the Open Championships.

I thought it was a beautiful swing and I wanted to copy it. As I practiced I would say to myself “Ernie” on the back swing, and “Els” on the forward swing. And wouldn’t you know – he wins The Championship! This method really helped me establish a good rhythm. I’m happy to say that after 15 months of playing I broke 80, and now at 65 years of age I carry a 8.3 index. I believe I owe that to Ernie. Thanks Ernie!

I’ve watched both players at the range and Ernie was occasionally lying on the ground stretching his back. His swing may be “buttery” but appears to be very stressful on the back. I like Ernie’s tempo and the technical precision of Adam Scott’s swing.

Ernie Els has the smoothest swing on tour and some of the best control.

I like Ernie Els’ swing more. He’s just just so smooth with his transitions and makes the golf swing look effortless.

I gotta go with Ernie’s swing as well. His weight shift and shoulder turn are fantastic. So is pretty much every other part of the swing. Nearly 80% GIR during the Open!

I actually like Adam Scott’s swing. It is graceful, smooth but with tempered power. Text book. Great swing, killer drives. Laser iron shots (except on the last 4 holes).
