MyGolfSpy Forum Highlights: December 2023

This marks the beginning of a new series where we aim to showcase the diverse threads, member tests and activities unfolding on the MyGolfSpy Forum. The monthly edition is designed to bring you up to speed on everything happening. Ensuring you can participate without feeling left behind. The Forum experienced a stellar year in 2023 across all aspects but, before delving into that, if you’re unfamiliar with the Forum or its purpose, here’s a brief overview.

What is the MyGolfSpy Forum?

The MyGolfSpy Forum is an online community catering to all golfers, irrespective of skill level, knowledge or history with the game. Everyone is invited and encouraged to engage and participate. Whether through a simple introduction or by delving deep into personal reviews and more. Our community is welcoming and knowledgeable, offering assistance with questions or providing a platform for casual golf discussions.

The MyGolfSpy Forum has more than 100,000 members enjoying thousands of topics, threads and discussions. Additionally, we feature the MyGolfSpy Virtual Tour which allows members to participate, post their rounds. Weekly winners earn profile banners across various categories. Everyone can compete and, with handicap balancing, there are ample opportunities to win!

The Forum hosts community calls where members can meet others and listen to discussions about golf and more. Members can also participate in live Q&A sessions with various companies and MyGolfSpy HQ staff every Thursday at 4 p.m. Eastern.

We’ve also enhanced our classifieds section, providing a platform for buying and selling golf equipment.

A significant attraction of the MyGolfSpy Forum is our Member Testing platform. In 2023, we provided more than $105,000 worth of golfing equipment to more than 220 members for testing. Testing opportunities included golf balls, clubs, apparel, tech devices and more. Applying to be a tester is straightforward and we have a comprehensive guide to help you get started.

MyGolfSpy Forum Highlights: December 2023

While I’ve covered a substantial portion of the 2023 season, December stood out as an exceptionally exciting month for the Forum. Not only did it witness significant shake-ups in the professional golfing world and a golf ball rollback but we also introduced two new member testing opportunities.

December Member Tests

The first test featured in December was ODIN golf balls. A relatively new brand in the direct-to-consumer market offering incentives for continued play and purchases. Though still in the early testing phase, initial reports and results have exceeded expectations. If this piques your interest, you can explore what our five testers are saying here.

The second test released was perhaps the highlight of the season: the FlightScope Progression Series. Three testers were selected to assess the full range of FlightScope’s offerings one after the other. Testers demonstrate how each stage can benefit golfers looking to enhance their game. Currently, the testers are receiving the first stage, the FlightScope Mevo. After completion, the Mevo will be sent to three new testers. With the original three then proceeding with testing of the FlightScope Mevo+. If you find yourself snowed in or your course is closed, this is a test you won’t want to miss!

The Forum offers more than just member testing. It continues to be a hub of information and engagement. Some of the most popular threads include the “The Good Morning” thread. Essentially a check-in desk where members greet each other and share updates to kickstart the day.

Other noteworthy daily threads include “What’s On The Chopping Block“, “Tell Us Your Best Golf Story” and “What Equipment Have You Tested?

Beyond golf discussions, there’s the Cooking thread, “What Are You Listening To?” and the Pet Picture thread, ensuring there’s a space for everyone.

December Forum Highlights

December brought a lot of excitement to the Forum. Including a Live Q&A with Sasho Mackenze of The Stack Training System. We recorded and posted on the Forum for those interested in watching and listening. Just before the holidays, Phillip Bishop of MyGolfSpy HQ joined us to answer questions and provide hints about what’s coming to MyGolfSpy in 2024.

Even during the slower season, many golfers posted rounds, both regular and sim. All as part of the MyGolfSpy Virtual Tour, contributing to the year-to-date standings.

Several surveys sought opinions on various topics. This included the golf ball rollback, thoughts on the new Kirkland golf clubs and favorite threads and tests on the Forum for 2023.

Wrapping Up

To conclude, the MyGolfSpy Forum staff wants to thank everyone who participated in and contributed to the Forum in 2023. As staff, we had an incredible season that we’ll never forget. You, the members and community, shape the MyGolfSpy Forum and we are thrilled to be part of this community. As we look forward to 2024, it appears to be another impressive season on all fronts for MyGolfSpy. We are eagerly anticipate your continued engagement on the Forum!

I stumbled across MGS website over a year ago, I was impressed from the beginning, I enjoyed ALL the content provided then I got into the Virtual Tour posting rounds and chatting here and there with other members… What a great on going experience. Then having the opportunity to test products and provide feedback to MGS Nation.
Thank you for provided so many different topics, forums and everything else.

The article is a great “highlight” of some of the topics and activities that all members have access to.
Besides the interesting various subject matters, and some of the special daily Community topics, it allows one to become involved with other members on a more personal level all while keeping the various golf topic subject matters at the forefront.

Anyone who reads both the article, and the various comments should then have had their interest piqued enough to at least join and participate.
Great site and great member community.

I joined the forum a year ago after stumbling across an article. It’s been a great way to meet new people and talk golf with others. The testing opportunities, while an amazing experience, have really proven to be a secondary benefit to the overall enjoyment that being a part of the forum community. I’m really looking forward to what 2024 has in stock.

I won’t lie, I joined under the allure of testing golf equipment. And I did just that! But whether golf is a casual hobby, a weekend escape, or a flourishing passion for you, the forum has so much more to offer. And if you allow it, it can quickly become an addicting habit offering passionate and diverse discussions.

It’s been a great month for the forum and possibly the busiest December I’ve seen in there in the 5+ years I’ve been a member. The weekly community calls are a highlight of my week and the addition of the Mevo test has been phenomenal!

I have been a member since November 2022, not that long considering, and My Golf Spy has more than filled my golfing interests.
I feel like the forum has given me the opportunity to pass on my vast amount of knowledge and learn some tools for my tool kit along the way.
I am looking forward to 2024 and all MGS has to offer.
