What is “The Puma Open”?
MYGOLFSPY got an email from a reader today that played in one of the “Puma Open” events and let’s just say he was a little more then excited to tell us about it. He tried to explain what it was all about…but it sounded so crazy that we had to do some of our own research to find out if he was just hypin this thing up or it was really as off the wall and different as he was saying.
Why Wouldn’t You Play?
It sounded like to us that this “Puma Open” was a little bit different from every other golf tournament we have ever played in…but it also sounded like a lot more fun. And at $50 bucks…we just had to check it out for ourselves. So after our research we figured that they best way to explain this would be to show you instead of tell you what you can expect.
Where is “The Puma Open” Played?
They are all over the country from LA to Boston and registrations have already started so you might want to hurry and get a team in it before they sell out. Space is limited to the first 36 teams so get yours in quick. From what we are hearing they are selling out fast. Below are some of the locations:
Get More Then $50 Worth in Prizes
Most of the time…hell almost all the time after playing in a captains choice event you spend an hour going through all the “junk” they give you in the goodie bags. You might keep a sleeve of balls but usually the rest either sits in the back of your trunk for a whole golf season or gets tossed in the trash. I don’t think you will be throwing away much from this event. From what it sounds like you get more then your money back in prizes and freebies. Here are just some of the sponsors of the events:
What To Expect at the Event
Hell from what we hear I don’t know what to expect at the event we are heading to…but when it involves the 4 G’s (games, golf, gambling and girls) it has to be worth at least $50…right?! Here are some videos of past events you can check out:
