TaylorMade Women’s US Open Commemorative Collection: Cheese, Clovers, and Pure Wisconsin Vibes

Sometimes you get a product brief that makes you do a double-take. TaylorMade’s Women’s Summer Commemorative Collection for the 80th US Open is one of those.

When the USGA announced that Erin Hills would host the 2025 Women’s US Open, someone at TaylorMade clearly decided to lean into the Wisconsin thing. Hard.

The result? There’s literally a piece of cheese on the golf bag.

Red, white, blue, and… cheese?

This is a US Open collection, so red, white, and blue were always going to be part of the equation. TaylorMade went with a red, white, and blue plaid pattern on the staff bag that mirrors some of Erin Hills’ own design choices.

But then you get to the details, and that’s where things get interesting.

There’s a piece of cheese on the front. An actual piece of cheese. On a golf bag. For a major championship.

Make of that what you will.

The Wisconsin deep dive

If you’re going to do a Wisconsin-themed collection, TaylorMade figured they might as well commit. Purple flower petals throughout the design represent the Wisconsin Wood Violet, the state flower. They’re on the topside valuables pocket and tucked into the interior pocket linings.

“Badger State” is inscribed on the bottom collar, because subtlety apparently wasn’t the goal here. The three-leaf clovers scattered around are actually TaylorMade logos, which is a decent touch.

The year 2006 on the handle marks when Erin Hills opened, which at least shows someone did their homework.

TaylorMade Women's US Open Commemorative Collection - headcovers

Headcovers keep it simple

The headcover collection sticks to the patriotic theme without going overboard. The driver headcover gets a single white star, while the three-wood gets three stars. It’s straightforward enough.

The red, white, and blue colorway runs through the entire headcover lineup—fairway woods, rescue clubs, putters, the works. There’s consistency, which is something.

The Wisconsin question

Look, TaylorMade could have made a generic “US Open” bag with some stars and stripes and called it a day. Instead, they went all-in on the Wisconsin angle. Whether that works for you probably depends on how you feel about cheese references on your golf equipment.

Wisconsin golf fans will probably get a kick out of it. Everyone else? That’s anyone’s guess.

Bottom line

This is TaylorMade taking a major championship and running with the regional angle. The Wisconsin touches are… thorough. The patriotic elements hit the expected notes.

There’s cheese on a golf bag. That’s either going to work for you or it isn’t.

The Women’s Summer Commemorative Collection will be available through TaylorMade’s usual channels. If you’re into the whole Wisconsin thing, you’ll probably want to move quickly. If you’re not, well, there are other golf bags out there.
