The Annual Vessel Season Opener Collection Means It’s Officially Masters Time

When it comes to Masters-themed limited editions, I generally give COBRA and Vessel a shared gold medal. Both companies make springtime in Augusta come alive. If I had to choose just one, however, it would probably be Vessel’s Season Opener Collection for one simple reason.

They usually leave the azaleas in the garden where they belong.

Your move, COBRA.

Vessel calls their green-and-yellow bags the “Season Opener” collection to stay out of trouble with the Lords of Augusta. The style doesn’t change much from year to year but, then again, I guess that might be the very definition of, uhhh, timeless.

It’s easy to look at the Season Opener Collection and say, “What’s not to like?” The answer, however, will often depend on whether your price range and Vessel’s price point intersect in the Venn diagram of your life.

Vessel Season Opener Collection

Vessel Season Opener Collection for 2026

While it would be easy to go overboard with an Augusta-themed limited edition, Vessel does a great job of resisting temptation. The Annual Season Opener Collection is always clean, classy and colorful.

Perhaps the only thing that might qualify as a tad extreme would be the press release. Vessel tells us that the collection is “defined by rich, seasonal greens, refined textures and distinctive gold accents, the Season Opener Collection captures the optimism of a new golf season while honoring the heritage of the game.”

I don’t know about you but that’s the kind of prose that leaves me … breathless? The only quibble I have isn’t just with Vessel. It’s everyone from the Green Bay Packers to the Cub Scouts. It’s yellow, for goodness sake, not gold.

All kidding aside, Vessel kills this release every year. The 2026 collection features three of Vessel’s most popular golf bags plus a green-and-yellow version of the new PrimeX 2.0 backpack.

Four pieces, zero azaleas

As long as Vessel leaves the azaleas out of this collection, I guess I can lighten up about the whole yellow/gold thing.

The 2026 Season Opener Collection includes Vessel’s flagship, the Player V Pro stand bag. It’s engineered for stability and performance with Vessel’s patented Rotator Stand System, carbon fiber legs and the sturdy and comfortable Equilibrium 2.0 double strap.  It goes for $469.

The lightweight Lux stand bag is for golfers who like to walk and carry. It’s made from tour-grade synthetic leather with Vessel’s signature crosshatch texture. It also features the Rotator base and will sell for $399.

The Season Opener Collection also includes the Lux Pro Cart II bag. It’s a utility-driven cart bag, built for maximum organization and accessibility. It features a 15-way top, forward-facing pockets and a magnetic rangefinder compartment. It runs $519.

Then there’s the Season Opener PrimeX 2.0 backpack. Sure, there are cheaper backpacks that will serve the same essential function. However, any seasoned business traveler knows a good backpack with well-conceived storage and solid structure is well worth the money. That, in a nutshell, is the PrimeX 2.0. The Season Opener version sells for $279.

The 2026 Vessel Season Opener Collection is on sale now. For more information, hit up the Vessel website.

spring has not sprung until Vessel releases their first overpriced bag of the year. check the box!

i’ve yet to see any golfer at any private or public course I play tote one of these, yet at least every other article #ad is about Vessel when we discuss golf bags.

there are other brands. even ones people actually carry.

If your quibble is about gold/yellow, mine would be “tour-grade synthetic leather”; do you mean “plastic “, for $469?
