This Electric Push Cart Rivals A Mars Rover

There is a lot of cool gear in the golf equipment world that doesn’t always fit neatly into Most Wanted Tests or Buyer’s Guides. You still want to know how it performs. In our We Tried It series, we put gear to the test and let you know if it works as advertised.

What We Tried

The GOZO Auto-Follow Golf Caddy.

Who Tried It

Tyler. Soft Goods Testing Manager and girl dad. I’ve tested quite a few push carts in 2026 and I was pleasantly surprised by the GOZO Auto-Follow Golf Caddy.

My best comparison is a Mars Rover—big wheels, a sturdy frame and the technology to accomplish the task at hand. Aside from the tank-like frame, the GOZO Auto Follow does a handful of other things extremely well.

Pros

If you goolf on rugged terrain, the GOZO Auto-Follow is a great pick. At one point, I took the GOZO Auto-Follow over a large rock pile and it handled nicely without tipping over and dumping my clubs.

The back wheels are large and designed to grip different types of terrain regardless of slope or structure. The front wheels feature 360-degree swivel technology to simplify the turning process regardless of the mode you’re operating in.

The GOZO Auto-Follow Golf Caddy features multiple modes.

The GOZO Auto-Follow offers three modes of operation:

  1. Follow Mode
  2. Control Mode
  3. Push Mode

When follow mode is enabled, you can walk in front of the GOZO Auto-Follow and expect it to follow you from shot to shot. If you don’t want a remote, the follow mode is ideal.

In control mode, you operate the remote with the GOZO Auto-Follow in front of you. If you’ve spent time playing with remote-control cars, the feeling is similar.

Last but not least, push mode is meant for the golfer who wants a small amount of assistance but enjoys the usual push-cart experience.

Price is a noticeable win.

When comparing price to the best electric push carts of 2026, you’ll save somewhere between $150 and $1,400. The GOZO Auto-Follow kept up with the best of the best, scoring a 9.5 overall compared to the badge winners that ended up scoring 9.6-9.9.

At $1,369, you can save your pennies without losing much in terms of performance.

Additional Features:

  • Phone, cup, umbrella holders
  • Odometer
  • Bluetooth app connectivity
  • Removable battery
  • Cart lock

In terms of industry standards, it has most (if not all) the features that a buyer should be looking for.

Cons

When an electric trolley scores a 9.5/10, there are only a few minor details in the “con” category.

Its folded size is below average.

If you’re looking for something that’s easy to transport, there are other options that will save you some space. If you drive a larger vehicle, however, don’t let this affect your purchase decision.

Similarly, if you have limited storage space, this is something to consider.

If you haven’t used a remote control before, it’ll take some getting used to when changing directions and increasing speed.

The remote works well but is slightly more touchy than the remotes of other models. The longer you use the GOZO Auto-Follow, the easier it will become.

The GOZO Auto-Follow took a bit more effort to setup and takedown but not so much that it is a deal breaker. The process wasn’t extremely difficult, just more difficult than some of the competition. You can expect roughly 30 seconds before and after your round when it comes to prep and takedown.

Final thoughts

GOZO is a contender in the electric trolley space with the Auto-Follow Golf Caddy.

Compared to the rest of the 2026 competition, the GOZO Auto-Follow ranked well. If we factor in price, it becomes just one more reason to consider purchasing the GOZO Auto-Follow as your next electric trolley.

If you constantly play courses with rugged terrain, the GOZO Auto-Follow is among the best options.
