We tested 37 drivers in 2024 and looked at distance, accuracy and forgiveness. To measure forgiveness, we look at how consistently a driver produces consistent shot outcomes. The data we use includes:
- Carry distance deltas: the difference between the longest and shortest carry distance
- Ball speed deltas: the difference between the fastest and slowest ball speed
- Dispersion: a measurement of the elliptical distribution of a series of golf shots
Most forgiving driver
The PXG 0311 XF GEN6 was the most forgiving driver of 2024 and the PXG 0311 GEN6 was the runner-up. We found both to be fairly priced ($449) and consistent but the distance and accuracy kept them both out of the top 10 best overall drivers of 2024.
The PING G430 MAX 10K is the best overall driver of 2024 and ranked sixth for forgiveness. It’s a good option if you need a mix of performance across the board. Here are the top 37 drivers ranked for forgiveness.
