The PGA Tour’s Top 10 Longest Drivers So Far— Here’s the Club They Play

We’re 2 1/2 months into this PGA Tour season, past the point where many pros start changing their clubs to update them to the new models. With our driver test results now available, it’s the perfect time to take a first look at the similarities between the longest drivers on the PGA Tour and the drivers that can help amateur players maximize distance.

PGA Tour’s top 10 longest golfers 2025

Aldrich Potgieter may be new to the PGA Tour but he’s not new to generating distance from the tee. Potgieter also led the Korn Ferry Tour in distance in 2024 and just a few months into his PGA Tour career, he has already moved past Rory McIlroy, even if it’s by less than half a yard.

Potgieter recently played the Mexico Open and hit the driver off the tee, followed by the driver off the deck to land his ball on the green on a 661-yard par-5.

Here is a look at the top 10 longest golfers on the PGA Tour as of March 2025 and the drivers they are using.

How do these PGA results compare to our testing?

Now that we know which golf clubs the pros are using to generate all of this distance, it’s worth comparing that to our 2025 Best Golf Driver testing.

Driver performance 2025

The longest driver in our 2025 test was the Titleist GT2. Tim Widing has this in play and is generating 323.8 yards on average. Potgieter’s GT3 ranks fifth overall.

The other driver to finish in the top five for 2025 was the third-place Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond which was also the best overall driver of 2025.

Gary Woodland uses the COBRA DS-Adapt X which finished 18th out of 37 in our testing. However, the COBRA DS-Adapt Max K earned a fourth-place finish for overall distance. The DS-Adapt, like the Titleist and Callaway models for 2025, can all generate ball speed and distance. You may just have to fine-tune the fit to work for you.

Buy This If

  • You want pure distance

Titleist GT2 is the best driver for carry and total distance in our 2025 test.

  • Subjective appeal matters to you

Subjective feedback always plays into a purchasing decision. We strive to separate performance from the subjective. But if you're going to let it influence your decision, know that our testing pool rates Titleist GT2 highly.

Don't Buy This If

  • You want consistency

For shot area, carry distance deltas and ball speed deltas, Titleist GT2 struggles relative to the field. Although it is long, it can be a bit erratic.

Final thoughts

Getting fitted for a driver that works for your game is a smarter choice than picking one the longest golfer on the PGA Tour is using.

This overlap reinforces an important point: certain drivers consistently produce superior distance whether in the hands of a professional or an amateur.

Great info. Does anyone play drivers outside of the big brands? Thinking of Singh winning the Masters with a Cleveland.

My mistake. He apparently was not gaming a Cleveland for that, but a Mizuno.
