What Does It Take To Win On The PGA Tour In 2026? Maybe Just This Putter

There isn’t a single formula for winning on the PGA Tour. There’s also no club that will guarantee a first-place spot.

However, through the early part of the 2026 season, one putter family has repeatedly appeared in winner’s bags: the TaylorMade Spider. Across five tournaments, Spider models have been used in five victories by four different players.

That alone makes it worth a closer look.

Five wins, one putter family

Here’s where the Spider has shown up so far:

Genesis InvitationalJacob BridgemanSpider Tour+7.307
AT&T Pebble BeachCollin MorikawaSpider Tour X-0.049
WM Phoenix OpenChris GotterupSpider Tour X-0.619

Four of the five wins came with the Spider Tour X. Bridgeman’s Genesis victory was with the Spider Tour, not the X model.

What the Spider Tour X offers

In independent testing, models in the Spider family, including Spider Tour and Spider Tour X, consistently rank among the stronger mallet-style putters, particularly for stability and alignment support.

The Spider Tour X features True Path alignment and perimeter weighting that help keep the head square through impact and produce consistent roll across distances. In testing, it performs well from a wide range of lengths, showing especially strong results on longer putts while remaining steady on short ones.

Stability and consistent start lines align well with how these putters are being used on Tour.

But it’s not just the winners

The five early-season victories are notable. But the Spider presence on Tour extends well beyond those trophies.

Here are some other PGA Tour players who have a Spider model in the bag.

The Tour X version is the most common but it is not the only model in play. Five wins already this season is one part of the story. I’ve got my eye on this to see what the data looks like in a few months.

Surely, you can get used to any putter. I bought the Sausage Boudin Noir to try the different settings (I am a tinkerer). Once I got used to each setting I was ok with all of them.

TM Spiders are great putters! I’ve been gaming one version or another for years. Currently in the Spider Tour with the short slant neck. Like you said, I find it very easy to line up, especially on short putts and speed control on longer putts is also very good.
