Vessel Player Air

2024

Vessel Player Air

9.2 overall

The Bottom Line

The Vessel Player Air is the best walking bag for 2024. While not the lightest bag in the test, it makes up for it with great pockets, good features and comfortable straps. If you've always wanted a Vessel but the weight has turned you off, this one is worth a try.

Editor’s Note: This bag is not yet available to purchase, but will be released soon. We will update this article as soon as it is available.

👍 Buy This If

You always walk: The Vessel Player Air is the best walking bag. It’s comfortable and light enough for a long day on the course

You need storage: Despite its light weight, the Vessel Player Air has plenty of storage for your snacks and accessories.

👎 Don’t Buy This If

✖︎ You’re on a budget: At $375, the Player Air is on the pricier side, especially for a walking bag.

✖︎ You need great zippers: The new lightweight material of the Player Air causes the zippers to be sticky at times. It doesn’t quite give the zipper enough resistance to pull against smoothly

Specs

  • Weight: 5.6 pounds
  • Top: A 6-way top with full-length dividers
  • Pockets: Multiple pockets for storage, including a large apparel pocket, a valuables pocket with a lock, an insulated beverage pocket, and other accessory pockets for balls, tees, and other golfing necessities.
  • Straps: A dual-strap system
  • Stand System: A high-quality stand system with durable and sturdy legs to keep the bag stable on various terrains.
  • Customization: Vessel often offers personalization options for their bags, allowing golfers to have their names, initials, or logos added to the bag.

Strong Storage, Poor Pockets

Overall we like the numerous pockets on the Air Player, but our testers found the zippers prone to sticking. The lightweight fabric easily gets stuck in the water-resistant zippers and can cause annoyance. Using two hands to pull the zippers helps avoid any snagging.

Carrying System

Our testers did find the dual strap system particularly comfortable.

The adjustable straps means golfers of different sizes will be able to find a comfortable fit.  We also liked the bungee cord system that secures the strap when the bag is mounted on a cart, avoiding any dragging or entanglement.

Compatibility with Carts

The Vessel Player Air is not just a carry bag; it is also optimized for use with push carts. The base of the bag sits securely on a cart, with a locking system that keeps it in place even on uneven terrain.

We liked how the strap system tucks away neatly, ensuring that it doesn’t interfere while the bag is mounted. And our testers appreciated that this dual functionality made it easy to switch between carrying and carting our clubs seamlessly.

Who Should Buy the Vessel Air Player?

This is a great walking bag for anyone who wants a comfortable option for all-day walking, with plenty of options for storage. While we did note that the price is not the lowest possible, the quality is top of the line. This is a bag that will last a long time and look good doing it.

I can’t seem to find this bag anywhere. Do you know when it’s going to be available?

I have the same question as you! I’ve searched all the usual websites. Not even Vessel Golf’s own website or social media accounts have any information about this.
