#SpyStaffSlam – Open Championship Edition: Win a Set of Wilson Staff Irons

When it comes to Open Championship, Carnoustie ranks just behind St. Andrews on the list of iconic venues. Every time it comes up in the Rota, something memorable happens: Hogan’s brilliance in ’53; Gary Player’s three wood in the wind on 14 in ’68 and Watson’s 18-hole playoff victory in ’75.

Everyone remembers Jean Van de Velde’s meltdown in ’99, but fewer remember Wilson Staffer Paul Lawrie winning in a playoff, and 2007 saw another playoff pitting Sergio against Padraig Harrington, with the Wilson Staffer winning the first of his two-in-a-row Open Championships.

You can pretty much guarantee Carnoustie will give us some thrilling golf next weekend, and your friends here at MyGolfSpy and the good folks at Wilson Staff want to help you double down on those thrills, with Part 3 of #SpyStaffSlam.

You could win a full set of fully customized Wilson Staff irons – anything from the super-duper game improvement D350s all the way up to the super-duper sexy FG Tour 100 blades. It’s your choice.

Okay, I’m Listening…

The contest is pretty simple to enter. You pick a four-person team (one from each tier of player), and if your team combines to win the most prize money at Carnoustie, you win. As we said, first prize is a full set of Wilson Staff irons fully customized to your specs, second prize is a Wilson Staff PMP wedge in the new Raw finish, and third prize is a dozen Wilson DUO Soft golf balls.

We had great fun with this contest during the Masters and the U.S Open, and we’ll do this again next month at the PGA Championship in St. Louis. Wilson knows a little somethin’-somethin’ about Majors, having won 61 of these things over the years.

How To Apply:

It’s easy to enter, but please make sure to read carefully and follow the directions accurately. We don’t want you to miss out.

First, if you haven’t already, you must join the MyGolfSpy Community Forum (click here to sign up).

Next, in the official MyGolfSpy #SpyStaffSlam Open Championship thread in the Community Forum (click here), select and enter your team from the provided tiers. You’ll also need to enter your tiebreaker, just in case.

It’s pretty simple, but make sure to enter your selections only in the contest thread in the Community Forum. We’ll announce the winners in that thread Monday after the Open.

Padraig Harrington

Good luck!

Wilson is on a big comeback. All there new equipment is outstanding.
I’ve had the Dyna Powers, the Goosenecks, the Fatshafts, got into forged and played Mizunos for years. I now have the V6 tour forged you will not believe the feel of these these irons.

I tried those V6 at a demo and they’re awesome! They would look great in my bag to replace my Nike (yes, I still play Nike irons)!

It sure would be great to win this set of Wilson Irons. I have never played Wilson clubs before. I sure would like to replace my old Taylor Made RBZ clubs with these.

I played Wilson irons from the late 1950s until the middle 1980s. I still have DynaPower sets from the first (1957) to the last (1975) and some from in between. It would be a pleasure to play their latest models and rekindle a little of the magic.

Have never used or owned a WILSON club although I’ve had a very good friend for years Fran Nixon who was a Wilson rep for 40 years. He was a friend of Sam Snead back in the day. Thanks for the opportunity… john

I have ALWAYS wanted to try a set of these irons. I believe them to be classic in style and design, but really a great performance set under the hood.
